Default Phrase edits do not show up??

I decided that people were confused by the names member and guest on our forum footer display of users online.

I edited the prhase users_online_x_members_y_guests to change member to registered and change guest to anonymous.

The reason was that "members" is confused between the dues paying members of our association and the registered members on our public forum.

I made this edit quite a while ago and the display in the footer has not yet changed to reflect my edits.

I recall Lynne telling me what I needed to clear in the database to make this refresh, but I have not been able to find the response in over an hour of searching.

Can someone tell me what is needed to refresh this relatively static text?

The phrase you want to edit, I think, is "x_members_and_y_guests"...see if that gets you where you want.

I suspect I was not clear. I have edited that phrase, but the edited phrase does not appear on my site,

I think the phrase is cached somewhere and is not yet displaying.

I recall that it is sometimes necessary to clear a cache store somewhere to get such changes to display.

Sorry, I noticed that you were referring to a different phrase. I edited that one also without effect, but the actual text does not look like that phrase.

On my board the default text for the phrase you referenced is.
Code:
{1} members & {2} guests

Please post a screenshot of the location where the phrase you want changed appears. The phrase to which I was referring is the one that shows up in the "What's Going On?" block. When I edited it, the change showed up immediately.

I believe there is an issue with phrases in general that the edits may not show up depending on how one's cache is set up. We are using Nginx and Memcache I believe but my recollection is that this may be stuck by some other mechanism.

Here is the page snap. The site currently has both candidate phrases edited to say registered and anonymous.

Yes, that's where the phrase I specified should affect a change, and the phrase you mentioned in your first post I believe pertains to the "Who's Online" page.
