Not making light of your situation, that is really what contacting the administrator is for. One thing I do on my forum's (although I cannot tell you off hand on how I did it, but it wasn't difficult) is if they had a partial registration where we could not register them, we lock them down into a registration confirmation forum, where a two-way private dialog can be established. Actually, now that I think about it, there is a MOD out there to do something similar, although I have never tried it.

I have probably seen 10 or more times where a user has typed the wrong email in twice. So you are right, it does happen. I am just not going to worry about it too much.
