Best thing you can do is stay with vb4 as vb5 is still in beta

Correct. vB5 is crap, in my opinion.

As for some, it's perfect for them as they don't need much however of the few issues I've worked on for clients running vB5 the issues are in fact ISSUES. I mean the ones that make me even scratch my head sooooo with that being said, that is why some might still feel like it's in Beta because they feel like all that "trouble" should label it so which is not true as I've come to find out. Does everyone run into these issues? No and usually they are quite odd and not seen on other sites running the same version (despite being on an identical hosting account with the same host) as I've ran into a few issues and had to refer them back to vBulletin Staff for assistance. Remember, vB5 is perfect for most and not for others and it is slowly improving with each release just like vB4 did in its fiasco heydays so if you're unsure, setup a test site and see for yourself... you may walk away loving it . Ok now back on topic LOL... Hirebuysell, Here is an excerpt from Mert's blog page (no longer available online since the site is gone now) hopefully these basic rewrite rules will assist: Quote:
Hope that helps! |
