Well the movie is being distributed by Sony Motion Pictures. Michael Jackson toured and released his albums under the Sony Music label. Really this movie was going to be released anyway. It probably had the original purpose of building hype for the London concert series and the potential world tour afterwards. Now they will see it as celebrating the life of an acclaimed artist. Yes, since he has died it will make more money but his previous albums also skyrocketed in sales. Happens with any accomplished artist, no matter what their field of practice.
