It would help to see the actual database error. When you get that screen, go to View Source and on the bottom of that page is the actual database error. Copy/Paste the whole error here.

OK I was able to fix it through my web host but how did this happen? We just upgraded to 3.7.3. over the weekend and never had problems before. |

Sorry for your misfortune, but the sky is not falling! I think you should go to vBulletin.com and ask for help there. I would put a support ticket in and send them the error notice. I think you can likely run one of the utilities they have to repair the database. If not, do you have a recent backup of the database downloaded? If not, you should have been doing so and here is a tutorial I wrote years ago that will help you start! http://www.vbclassified.com/showthread.php?t=241 |

A crashed table is easily fixed by doing a repair/optimize in the Admin CP or through phpMyAdmin (or any number of other ways). As for why, who knows, it's a server thing and they sometimes have a mind of their own. If you want more info on why tables crash, you could google it or do a search on both of the vb sites and see if their is a thread about it.
I'm laughing about the google thing though. Crashed tables do not signal the end of the world. |

A crashed table usually means your DB went through some kind of crisis. |

Extract tools.php, from the "do_not_upload" folder of the vBulletin archive you downloaded from vbulletin.com, upload this file to your /admincp/ directory. There is an option to "[Repair Tables]", you may need to run it a few times, for it to work.
