To add, the news page with Drupal (which I'll customize), is it a seperate page, where your members can make comments? Does vBDrupal integrate member comments, to link to a members profile in the forums ?

To be honest, I really haven't used vBDrupal in quite some time as I have eliminated vB from my site.. but when I was using it, there were premade blocks for forum posts. The user links all linked to vB profile (which I didn't like

As for "news" in Drupal. Drupal doesn't necessarily have a news module. Instead you are able to create custom Content Types (nodes) which can be used for virtually anything you need. And yes, you can allow comments.

Drupal can pull news from forums or you can create a news section. Either way will work. The best thing u can do is setup a test install.
