Different perspectives. As my Cherokee Grandpa would say, no US citizen has a right to say anything about Tibet until they force the US government to honor the THOUSANDS of broken treaties with the several native nations of the continent including the Cherokee - whom the US government under Andy Jackson marched 1,500 miles to relocation in Oklahoma killing more than half their number along the way.
And the Tibet situation as been going on longer than the US has existed, so don't give me any crap about the US oppression of the native american tribes being irrelevant.
