If it is the same error then you don't have a fresh copy on your computer and you need to redownload vBulletin and then upload the copy of newthread.php...

That would be the easiest way. Don't try to reinvent the wheel use what you have. If you don't have a vbulletin then you are going to have to use regulare expressions and write your own functions...

When you try to access your archive try archive/index.php/ adding that extra foward slash at the end. The archive is on by default for vBulletin 3
