Apparently you did not read any of the threads before you installed. There is a zip file called donation.zip with all the files and a XML for import. You can not install with the authors files as they will not work with 3.6.

If I only had a dollar for as many times as I have said this.

I have said it numerous of times and just a few threads ago with a link to the proper zip file.
I am not the author of this hack so dont jump at me I just try to help people to get it working if they have problems, but if you read through just 4 pages you will see how many times I have said it just recently.

I don't know if somebody mentioned it before, but i will post it anyway. Sry if somebody did it already. This is what i wanted to do and how i did it.

I wanted to reward the donors by several ways, one way was to stop showing ads to them.

So by wrapping the ad codes with the following if tag i achieved that.

I figured it out. Something is different about my PHP build (strict mode? not sure), but the files needed the full <?PHP in the beginning. Once I changed them everything is working fine.

When someone updates this hack please make this change permanent in the code.

Lets say I have a goal for March's website hosting and next month I have a goal for April's website hosting.

I'm thinking that the best way to do this is to make a new goal and make the old one inactive. That should keep all the data from the previous month correct?

check the cmod on the ppverify file in your forum root and make sure its 777
recheck your donation settings at paypal and on your site be sure at paypal that it points directly to the ppverify file

If you made the template edits, your users will have the option in their usercp to be shown as a donor or not by checking the box. If they have not elected to do this then they will not show up.

Currently it does not work that way it goes by latest donation thats the highest and places it first.

You should not be clicking on a link to ppverify as it is only used by the donation script to recieve Paypal postback variables so it can update the donation_paypalipn table with your donors payment info.

Has anyone sorted out how it can be done that guest donors (or esp. donors which have been donated via bank transfer and the donating members are added later in the admincp) are calculated in the goal overview.
By now it´s only listing the new member and the amount, but it doesnt add the amount to the goal. I.e. if you already achieved 48 % of the goal and someone sent you 50 bugs your goal stays at 48% instead of showing 51%. Is there a workaround for that ?

the variable showdonor is changing to 0 (and its not supposed to) in the database

the variable donor is changing to 1 and its OK, but showdonor is not supposed to change. It happened with my last 2 donors... and worked fine with the first 4 guys.

I just dont know this mod too well to see wich code is changing the variable.

No I am not using a Tax ID, the field is blank in the settings.

As for the shipping I do have shipping charges enabled because I use that paypal account for my business. I thought it would only apply shipping if you specify it in the button?

EDIT: Nevermind the tax issue. I charge tax on those in my state, and the donator just happen to reside in my state.

What you describe is not your problem.
The only time donor is set to 1 is when paypal post back to your site confirming the donation was made then your donor is set to 1 as it should.
The problem is one of an inconsistancy that occurs with fsock which is the method being used for reading and confirming the paypal transaction. This is not due to coding issues but more so problems in the paypal postback system with fsock. I am looking into it and will try to provide to methods of reading and posting back ie.. using either fsock or curl.
The show donor being set to 1 is a selectable option for users and maybe is a problem why you can not see anything for the two donors you mention. Each user is given the option in their usercp if they wish to be shown as a donor. If they do not check this option they will not be visible in the donor list or have a donor button in their postbit.

Ok I got it figured out. Had to update the option in paypal to allow individual items to have their own shipping.

But YOU must have a Business or Premiere account for this to work. It will not matter what kind of account the donator has.

Ok now another problem. I have had 2 donations so far. One went through fine (other than it added shipping and handling which I took care of) and then lastnight I had someone donate, but it did not update her already donated amount or apply it to our goal. So I looked and her donation is in the invalid transactions. Why would this be?

Here were her comments to me:
BTW ... your link on the site didn't take me right into paypal like it did last time. It only showed your email address and that you were verified. Then when I went to make a 'payment' (option at the top of my page), your email address was not in my pull down bar (even though I had made a payment to you prior). I had to navigate back to the verified page to find it. Maybe you could put up another link that will provide the direct payment option like you had last time as well so others wouldn't give up if they're considering donating?

I am thinking that maybe instead of clicking the donate link, she clicked the verified seal maybe? I don't really know. I checked my paypal account and it shows complete. But in vbulletin it list it as an invalid transaction, even though it shows the amount and the fee paypal takes out along with her comment from above when you select that invalid transaction and view the details.

So is there anyway now to change it from an invalid transaction to a valid one so it will update her donated amount plus add to our goal?

The only template I modified was the donations_bits to allow my donors to add a note.

Well I just now modified that template a little more to allow them to input the amount before being transfered to paypal, put the new field and button below the description instead of to the right of it, and I also made the verify seal unclickable and instead added a link to that phrase. I still can't get the actual button to look like it is clickable, even though it is. I am pretty sure now as she has e-mailed me back that she did click on the verify seal at the bottom there.

So maybe now this will make it less confusing. Just glad it was not actually this mod that did it, lol. Whew.

Okie Dokie. Also one more thing. On my all donors page, it is only showing the first 3 top donors instead of showing all donors (I have 4) it is also the same way on the CMPS block (only showing 3). I have the options to show top 5 donors (obviously it is not) but also on the all donors page shouldn't it be showing all of them?

I just upgraded to 3.6.8 so I don't know if that had anything to do with it?

It should not.
Make sure your donors select in the usercp->edit options they check to be shown as a donor. If they do not they will not show up on your donor pages.

I just realized that I never put that option back after I reverted the template. Just added it back but I am assuming it kept her origional answer? I did not re-add it to postbit or memberifo template because I have an additional usergroup for donors that they can join to show a donor image next to their name in both of those places.

How can I uninstall this properly? Using the uninstall method via AdminCP Product management, does not work.

It leaves "showdonor" in many places in the db. I've uninstalled, upgraded to vb 3.6.8, and as a result, trying to modify options in the usercp results in the error:

Can someone please help me remove this hack from my board? It's really screwing things up.

The product xml for Paypal donations has an uninstall for the field showdonor in the user table. You can not use the authors php set up files for uninstalling or installing this Mod.
If you uninstalled the paypal mod through the admincp->manage products it should have removed the field.

In the xml code that you installed the mod with has the following for uninstalling the showdonor

So are you sure you did it properly.

Well, all I did was click "Uninstall" on this hack from the admincp - manage products screen. It is no longer there, but it still has a couple tables there.

If I run the query manually, that should do the trick?

If so, what is the exact query I should enter to run?

FYI, I did go into the vb db via MyPHPAdmin, looked up the user table, but did not see "donor" and "showdonor" there at all.

I don't understand...there is no usercp table in vb. If you are referring to the user control panel, I'm not sure I follow...how can I remove "anything"? Are you referring to a template? If so, there is no showdonor text anywhere in any template.

Wayne Luke from vb.com, says that this error means that there is code trying to reference the fields and they do not exist in the database. And that I need to remove that code or add the fields. But I have no clue where this code exists.

Go to your usercp in your forums there should be a field that is filled out in edit options to be shown as a donor if checked you are shown on the donor page if uncheck you are not shown

It's not there. There is no "donor" field in the usercp profile or options.

I figured it out with help from a tip from vb.com. I had to manually go through possible plugins and find the culprit and delete. There were still plugins from this hack installed, I removed them, and everything is ok. Thanks for the help though. ;)

I couldn't get it to work for me ether, I just installed a different paypal donation hack from vb.org There has to be at less 5 or better of them going around, I'am using Cyb, worked for me..

and the donations settings are pointing to http://forums.xxxxxx.com/forums/ppverify.php therefore..

when someone donates the transaction goes through succesfully according to paypal but the goal progress is not updated and no valid/invalid/pending transactions appear in the summary page..
guessing i have an issue with a IPN notify URL already pointing to my shop file..

any clues as to how i can get this working properly..?

I am a little confused when you mix in the shop information and what you are trying to do with the Donation Mod.
The notify URL should be the link to the ppverify.php file for donations. By what you have posted your notification URL is to your payments/paypal_ipn.php. This must be set in the donation hack but must also be set in your paypal account and you can not have two notification URLs. I appreciate the links but I need more info on what you are trying to accomplish as I can no follow the logic of the shop and the donation Mod.

okay..currently i have an online shop which uses the paypal IPN already..the url in paypal points to my shop paypal_ipn script..
the donation mod requires the paypal IPN url to be pointing at the mod ppverify script..

therefore (i assume) if i am already using my IPN in paypal i cant use it for this mod as i can only specify one paypal IPN url..

As far as I know paypal only allows one url. You would have to either combine the scripts or have another account for donations. It may be best to pose the question at paypal and see what they say.

also, the user CP no longer has the display donor status show off / on option.

Other then that, the hack still works. I tried to re-install the plugin, however this did not restore those two items.

Does anyone have the code that needs to be re inserted into the postbit / postbit legacy templates?

and does anyone know what I need to do to restore the user CP show donor status?

Ok guys for those of you that have been having issues with installing this mod on 3.6.2 vba 2.2.1:

I so far have got it working from a clean install, also using the vBA module on my home page. The supplied installer creates a phrasetypeid SQL error when you use the supplied installer. I used a XML file I had downloaded not sure who wrote it, and I take no credit for it. I think it was from the original hack not sure. In the zip file there is no name so I do not know who created it, but it installs perfectly at least for me it did.
Proceedure I followed is as follows:
1. Upload the files to your webserver as described by the orig installation instructions.
2. Go to your Plugin&Products in Admin cp =>Manage products=>Add/Import Product. Install the attached XML file. This will add the phrases,templates ect... "Do not use the supplied installer, donationtions_install.php". The XML file will install everything required.
3. If all went ok you should have the paypal donations added to your Admin cp. Just continue with original instructions

Make sure you uploaded the images folder, check in the forum root/images/misc and forum/images/buttons also make sure you have the correct style selected.

It would be nice when you delete your previous goal that is also deletes the donors for that goal. This way when you start a new goal - you start fresh and with a clean slate. As I see it, the only way to do this is delete each individual manually OR delete them from the db.

No you are not missing anything. Its a problem that needed to be fixed with the mod. Could be added to the admincp file

It works for me but everyones configurations are different. Check 3.6 mods there are a few there but none have IPN as of yet.

Got this Installed to vb 3.7.0 beta 3

But there is and issue with the setup
1.
there are 3 db errors in the install
table _ vbphrase had to add field phrasetypeid
table _ vbphrasetype had to add field phrasetypeid
table _ vbcron had to add field title
2.
during the installation process when it removes stray phrases it removes all the phrases
luckily i had backed it up before i began

what i had to do is.
back up the vbphrase table
install the mod
backup the new fields in the vbphrase table
dropped table vbphrase
reinsert vbphrase with orig. backup
add missing fields
then import the new fields from the installation from that backup

then i imported the attached xml to add phrases for this in the admin cp
under paypal donations.

EDIT: I fixed the problem on my site and got rid of that error. I editted the donate.php. Donation panel works now without that error. That error was being caused by the new notice system in vb 3.7 Beta 4.

So I attached the working donate.php I editted that goes into the modules folder. below in this post.

I am having a small issue, the section that shows my last donors is not working. It seems that the table is not updating. I changed it to top donors and it is showing the wrong info as well (the largest donor I had was $86 and the latest of $200 is not there).

I am running 2.02 with vb 3.6

I have stopped supporting this mod due too working with AWJunkies on our own donation system which is already released for 3.6 and 3.7 with better functionality and more options.

I'm not sure what to do now, but the uninstaller is missing from my plug ins and the donation system is not working after I upgraded...

I searched this hack and did not find anything about this particular situation...

When I click on donation settings I used to get a page that I could control the hack with, now when I click on it in Admin I get setting group show all settings menu bar...

Then when I visit the actual donation page is is just a white screen...

I would just like to uninstall this and re-install it, but that option is not available in my plug ins....

So do I just overwrite all of the files and re-upload the .xml like a fresh install?

I only have one goal in place, so it is easily replaced..

The authors files will not work with this mod you need to install this using the donations.zip file which contains all file uploads and xml file. I would re-upload all files and reimport the xml file allow overwrite.

OK this hack needs to be removed. I installed this yeasterday after I was looking for a paypal donation plugin which I endedup going with his newer product.

The second page of the install it came to a database error about phrases. As I went to uninstall it now I can now uninstall it as it never installed. But yet it shows up in my AdminCP as "PayPal Donations" I went and removed all of the files from the install but I do not know enough about databases to want to or be brave enough to want to go and remove tables from the database with out somebody informing me of what tables I can or should remove.

I followed Sinsterpain's idea and tried uploading and install it again but same effect. To make things even worse is my backup admin installed vbulletin 3.7.0 last night comming from 3.6.8 so I dont know if those tables were overwritten or what.

I would love to remove it from the AdminCP menu though.

OK scrap this post I guess just wanted to keep it up / I went & over wrote all of the old files so I could find them easyer and removed the entire hack file for file now its no longer showing up in my AdminCP, I looked in the database and because it didnt install there are no tables in the database for it.

I went and set up AWjunkie new paypal donation system and have considered purchasing the pro version.

There are minor bugs still in this mod that need fixing. I would sugest to move over to a newer donation system if you are running VB 3.5, 3.6 or 3.7. AWcoding-Donation System has all the features of this mod and more.

Does anyone know how you can keep the PayPal Donations tab from being viewable or accessible in the AdminCP for members you wish to add to the Administrator user group?

I have Can Administer plug-ins set to no on the Advanced Admin permissions, but it still shows up in their ACP and they can view all the info. The only they they can't do is change the PayPal Donation settings.

Any help will be appreciated.
