Spells for classes (Maybe spellbooks?)
Class individual spells can be achieved through the ACP, by creating Battle Types for classes, move the class into this, and then create specific spells this class can learn.

Items which only certain classes /r aces can useSee above, its all about the Battle Types mate.


Monsters which you can fight (Also drop items / money)Monster Arena already coming. The guy converting it seems to have fooked off the net as of late though.


An easier AdminCP interface (i know its easy, but everything takes long :()Im already doing a redesign of the ACP, if it becomes easier well thats not for me to say, it will look neater though.


Random Events (Money/Items/Exp/Levels)Not sure I understand what you mean here mate. You mean stuff just comes raining down from the skies at random times?


Instead of just "Buff" on items, you could have Attack, Defense, Evasion, Speed, Magic power (I know you have them on classes, but items would be cool)Possibly doable. Would be lots of hassle tho... And the specific categories only buffs whats related to them.


A place to hang out (A clan house / house where people can hang out and chat and maybe have a shoutbox?)This was originally in the ClanCP, but too many errors and it was never really used anywhere.


User Shops (Users can buy / sell what they want)Totally useless, as these items would not have Buffs so other people would waste their money.
This was also originally in there, same reason for away as above.
Auction where people can sell their own items coming though.


Summoning Monsters (For use with the monsters you can fight, you get a scroll / book which lets you summon a monster which aids you in battle)Coming, its currently residing somewhere inside a wBB forum and I cant really be arsed to start picking it out yet.


Pets (Character can gain pets to aid them in battle, but once they die, thers no coming back)Like a mini-Petz eh... Nah. Summons will cover this (ony they can be healed).


New types of weapons (Helmets, Gloves etc) with their own specifications, like speed agility, instead of having them as armour / weapons.Could also do this.


Weapons with special abililites such as stealing HP / MAIm already planning to add Status Effects, admins will be able to create own staus effects and add them to weapons/spells/potions, so with good naming there could be a status called "MP Absorb".....


Spells which add more defense to you?This would be abit hassle but ye I think I should be able to pull this one off.


Items which require spells to be used, such as poisoning(with a poison item), etcIm not quite sure I understand what you mean here mate.


Ability to trap an enemy in combat for 2 turnsSame as above.


Admin configurable events, to double exp (againsed monsters only) for a certain time (hours, mins etc)Unsure about this... If I do it then it has lower priority, it doesnt really add something all too useful to the hack IMHO.

Ability to make items using ingerdients / materials (such as timber, steel, poison ingredients which are gainable from defeating monsters / random events) = Synthesis, which is coming.


Could you PM me these and any additional suggestions as well as posting in here? By the time I finish the rest, I might not be able to find the posts as easy, and I dont fancy filling my bookies with posts.. ;)

another idea wold be a Admincp based Tournaments for the battle.... where the admin will put in names in a list and it will randamly match up 2 and if its odd will leave one for the next match and will keep doing it till well you have a winner and then that could also playing into my idea witht he speical item list and the winner could get a prize that you select or somthing.Ive already got summit like this planned, it would be much more extensive though. I dont know when or how Im gonna find the time, so dont spec to see it by tomorrow :P

Yea a system of that would take a bit it would almost be as complex if not more then the rpg system itself. so i here ya :nervous:

Not sure if this is allowed but i have some scenes i put together from some stuff i use......... download them if you want.............
and for the owner of the rpg hack if you want to add these to your image sets for it you can but please give some credit though... otherwise i dont care...

Thanx, I am very glad you like them :) I will also have more charactors made, and more scenes/weapons and stuff if you want I can post them as i make sets.

Hey Revan, cna't wait to put this up on my boards. I have a question about your update to 3.0. When will that be coming out, and if I decided to go ahead and install the 2.5.3 version, will the 3.0 be tough to put in after I installed the older version?

When will that be coming out, and if I decided to go ahead and install the 2.5.3 version, will the 3.0 be tough to put in after I installed the older version?The 3.0 will be fully upgradeable, it will be tested across multiple installations and with both default and customised settings.
There are 2 things (for now) I know that will have to be redone:
* File Edits. Theres too radical changes to be able to say "find this and change to this", so in the upgrade txt file there will be "find this prev file edit and replace with this", if you get what I mean :)
* Itemshop and Battle settings. Dont worry too much about this until the upgrade tho. There will be a reminder to backup your settings.

And to install the mod, use the RPG SYSTEM INSTALL.txt file and follow it to the letter :)

Hmmm I assume I messed something up while installing but I seem to be having problems getting this to work.

I'm pretty sure I followed all the instructions but after I upload the altered files I started getting errors.

I get
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING in /home/hchen/public_html/includes/functions.php on line 1908
on my index and
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: getlevel() in /home/hchen/public_html/includes/functions_showthread.php on line 560
shows up when I try to view threads.

I also get various other errors when I try to visit itemshop.php, rpg.php and rpgcp.php
I have no idea what's wrong.

I got an error the first time I ran the installer but I deleted everything and ran it without any problems. Afterwards I restored all the files that were edited back to the way they were right before I tried to install this hack.

Do you know what I can do to fix this?

Edit: Oh haha woops. Apprently I missed reading a file and I don't have the Ucash and Ushop hack installed. Would that be the likely reason why I have these problems?

All errors that is about "uttpoints" is due to lack of uCS installed, yes.
The parse error in functions I dont know anything about, check the file with a syntax highlighting program and see if theres anything that strikes you as odd on that line.
The getlevel() is a function that should be declared in functions.php as per the instructions.

You can try this, this works for me in IE but not in FF because I cant seem to be able to download the bleeding quicktime plugin XD
Find:
$backmidi = "<bgsound src='$bm[url]' loop='-1'>";
Replace with:
//$backmidi = "<bgsound src='$bm[url]' loop='-1'>";
$backmidi = "<embed src='$bm[url]' autostart='true' hidden='true' name='battlemidi' loop='true'></embed>";
This change will be default in v3 of course :p

But when i called other member for battle...look

You are ineligible for battle at this time. Please try updating your stats in the User Control Panel.

Revan, I may suggest you to use .php files for skills as UCS does for their actions, this would be more customizable, easier to create skills.What you mean, putting weapons\spells\shield\etc in .php files instead of inside the battleupdate file?

heya, I came across this problem as well (on a brand spanking new board running PHP 5.0.1 - and thats what the problem was - PHP 5 didnt like it for some reason. All the templates were installed fine but the hack couldnt find them.

The way it was fixed was by opening init.php and adding:

They not supposed to, because the Add Items or Add Category cannot guess what type of item you wish to add, nor can it update its choices dynamically according to what Item Type you select.
To set Spell attributes, edit the Spells category and set them to Spells (yes the same), then you will see checkboxes that allows you to set spell attributes.

Ok, I cant seem to find my original post, I got everything working (I think I missed something, somewhere). But I goto User CP and click on Edit Information for this hack, but when I click the link ,it jusy comes up blank, what templates do I need to edit?

They not supposed to, because the Add Items or Add Category cannot guess what type of item you wish to add, nor can it update its choices dynamically according to what Item Type you select.

k, got it, now i did the database fix several times, went in and redid 6 hack installs and tried everything i could think of, yet i continue to get this error:

Nope, to have them more preinstalled than now is impossible.
Because the SQL NEEDS to be updated with the battle types, and buff levles is something each admin has to decide for himself.

In short, it sucks.
It causes some glitch with the Female class that only seems to happen to 20 % of the installs. It will probably be fixed in v3, once SquareUltima gets around to installing the v3 Alpha I sent to them (Alpha because the ACP isnt finished plus it hasnt been tested much) we'll see if it fixes itself.

Thanks for the tip. The settings in this thing are like a nuclear reactor. I suggest that you have it set up with a basic working configuration to start instead of having new users go in and tweak dozens of adjustments when they don't even know the way it works. At least if it worked out of the box you could just change things how you want them instead of having nothing activated or adjusted. Just a basic catch-all config to get the newbie going would be way better. It's been a week and I'm still discovering mandatory settings that are not correct.

I might write a build_rpg() that fixes the SQL so at least the battle types are correct.
But I will not set Buff levels on anything, because thats so individual from forum to forum what the admin wants. If there was a standard level, every newbie would use this and there would be distinctions between those that bother to configure it and those that dont bother.
In the updated RPG Manual, there will be a getting started section, so anyone comin whinin after that will be sent right back to detention in the manual ;)

Yeah, besides the fact that I just randomly flipped switches and set up the potions and all that, the users are so hooked on this that they are fighting 24/7 and the shoutbox is now the RPG chat! ;)


What the hack lacks in documentation is more than made up for with the first rate support so I have no complaints.

Revan on that note. I'll be putting in a couple of hundred new items completely replacing what was there before, with new graphics aswell. Should I wait for the update to do this as I fear it'll grind the sql to a halt. i'm looking at getting this up and running in about 2 weeks. If you're roughyl a month away from putting up version 3 I can hold off, as I remember you said you were going to make the update items section a seperate page to reduce loads.

I was told of a new way of doing the Edit Items, theres seperate categories where you edit all the Items of that one category like it is now. Also Ill add a conditional that tells the script to only show 50 items at a time, so theres a sorta "page 2" in case you have too many items in one category ;)

And the Final of v3 aint a month away, but once I finish the entire ACP I can send you an RC version ;)

2. Your attack does not change because the stats calculations does not take item buff into consideration, but when you actually USE the weapon, it does ;)
3. I haven't ever seen that error with the refund, you sure you used the correct number format (or perhaps the default)?

Anyone else care to look at the calculations inthe battleupdate.php file to verify this because i am kinda grasping at things here, but need some solid numbers to be able to set buffs. I'd hate to be giving a +2000 score to a weapon thinking it's addative when in fact it's a multiplier..

no, I meant the weapons have skills which are attached in, and those skills are written in separate files, I think that way it's easier to add skils to weapons you want, or even skills for a specific level/job.

Ah, this isn't a big deal but what I meant was is there a way to get a link to display stats in the profile that anyone can see of a certain person? I have the link in the usercp but currently the only way to see another person's character is to find a thread he posted in and then look it up there.

Sorry if this has been asked before but is there a reason that classes are based upon gender? Maybe I'm just not clear on it but it seems that this isn't very useful. Races are based on alignment so in turn it would be nice to have classes that are exclusive to certain races. Is this possible?

What I would like to do is for example do something like make a race of dwarves where if you choose them you can then only choose a class that is proficient in melee and not magic. The way I see it now is that no matter your alignment or race, you can be pretty much any class that is availalable. This way I can't even divide it so that only the default race of orcs can only be black mages. Personally I find it a bit contradictory to allow good people to be a black mage.

At the very least is there any real purpose to creating more class types other than to organize things better?

Is this just the way it is, am I mistaken or is there a way to fix this?

Also I seem to have a problem. After battles (and maybe something else) it seems that some or all characters have their max MP and PP calculated incorrectly, making it become some huge number. When I was level one I could go to my character edit screen and update it which would fix it. Now even when I do that nothing happens. :surprised:

Theres currently no way of seperating races by alignment. It would also be impossible to both seperate by alignment AND gender (afaik).
Redesigning this would mean having to mess about with JavaScript, which I dont know ANYTHING about, so no can do :(

My site has been going slow since I added this hack and I'm not real sharp on queries but one of my tech guys sent me a list from the logs saying there are a ton of queries in showthread.php, including a lot of RPG stuff. Any way I can clear out some of this stuff and speed things up a bit because I'm getting server busy with only 50 people online? (He says the LEFT JOIN's at the bottom are killing me)
If you know any other way of merging all those different tables that uses less query time, do let me know ;)

1. Open profile.php and pick out all that has anything to do with rpgpostbit, namely:

Then pick out the stuff that shows the $rpg_postbit variables, the entire table preferrably :P

Then run this:

ALTER TABLE `user` CHANGE `rpgstats` `rpgstats` CHAR( 1 ) DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL ;
UPDATE `user` SET `rpgstats`='0';

Remember to add a prefix if you use it.

Ah thanks. Indeed if the MA and PP modifiers should be something around .003 then my values were a bit off. I think they were default but I had 2 and 3. So far it seems to be fixed :)

(note that this code comes from v3 so if you dont get a perfect match, search manually. Its under the "get cats" section.)

Note that you should, in the template, remove the Expand All Generic Items link, because this will now contract the cats instead.

thanksThe admincp wont be any in particular EASIER to navigate, it will just look heaps better and the Edit Items will be much less SQL intensive for large item stocks ;)

The infamous "Female Class" bug....
On some servers where PHP is compiled wrong, selecing Female class will feck up yer edit rpg info page...

Not much I can do about that sadly.
However for unknown reasons, this bug is gone in the current v3 build... :ermm:

Will the v3 Lite have new templates? If so I think it will be a good idea because people can test it out and give you feedback on it before you release a final. Like a BETA version (but better :) ).

What are the new features which will be missing from the lite version which we can expect in the final version?

If you installed this hack, go to profile PHP, look for:

And replace with:

Why? if the RPG name contains ' that creates an error, but if you also add ; to end the current SQL query after it, start a new query and after that another one just to have a good place for rest of the string... Now that can be real bad. Hope no typos in the code here. (check all other rpg hack specific variables for the same problem)

Well I've finally reached the point where I am completely done on every aspect of the hack apart from items.

I can't edit any of them, as at this stage it crushes the site, I am just waiting on that portion of the admin cp where I can edit items outside the main table, as currently I am looking at over 400 or so items that have been made for the rpg, and all those on one table would be suicide for the site, currently I only have about 20 and that drops things pretty badly even when changing a stock number on one item.

So.. Revan i eagerly await your admin cp update so I can start playing this thing :p

I tried to do a break operation countermeasure in case you do have hundreds in one category, but I couldnt find a way to make a "second page" so you could actually edit the others... meh

Sorry, this question may have been asked and anwser once before, but I have my weapons set to be in battle mode and not in non-battle. For some reason, everytime we use a weapon....we miss. We have not been able to hit with weapons at all, just punching. Am I missing something in the RPG settings? I can't seem to find it if I am.

:dNah I wont make an items list, but I will make a way to import/export items lists, so others can make for you (you lazy bastard) ;)
I been told that dropdown for the image selecting adds high loading times cos its much html, so I prefer to write an extensive Admin Help section that covers all the pre-made items.

If the Heal Cost is set low enough, like 1 per healing, and HP values are high enough, you will be able to heal yourself for $0 cost and 1% healing.
This Ive squished in v3 tho, now it will not display a healing option if Heal Cost is set, but the actual Heal Cost in the Center is 0.
It still lets you heal if you have Heal Cost set to 0 in ACP tho, don't worry.

Im sorry but I cannot provide a way of doing it with v2, because the way stats is calculated is very different between the two versions, and adding such a mod to v2 would require at least 100 lines of code, as opposed to 2 lines of code in v3 ;)

But I can tell you that Classes and MA are not linked together, IIRC.

Oh, all I meant was that when I check "update stats" even if I don't do anything the MA will change. I think it then resets itself back correctly after battle. I don't believe this even happens all the time. I don't know, it's weird.

ok, i uploaded the template file in the ACP(a friend tole me how to do it), but i can not upload the phrases. This is what happens.

EDIT: Removed the thing. I uloaded and installed both the language and the phrases, but the same thing happens, i can not battle or do anything of the sort.

Hey I am opening a Power Ranger based community. How hard would this be to customize it to suit that? I really have no good ideas, but it'd be cool if people could battle each other, and also when their board have some type of battle system to battle all prevoius villans from the shows. Well I have a clean vB3 right now, brand new never edited 1 bit, I'll install this and see what I can do, if worst comes to worst, I'll just redo my vB no biggy.

There seems to be something wrong with the restocking in my itemshop. The restocking time is at the default of one week. It's been over a week and nothing seems to have restocked. Did I forget to set something?

Also, I don't suppose it'd be possible now or perhaps in the future to set different max stocks for the item types would it? For example, I would like something around 20 HP potions to stock up each week but only 3 or 4 of certain weapons.

OK, thanks for the help in the installation, and i know i am getting to be a annoyment, but i have some other few problems. First, the main forum does not show the links to all the places like the RPG CP or the Heal.php or the clan.php or all of those. There seems to be something wrong with the restocking in my itemshop. The restocking time is at the default of one week. It's been over a week and nothing seems to have restocked. Did I forget to set something?

Also, I don't suppose it'd be possible now or perhaps in the future to set different max stocks for the item types would it? For example, I would like something around 20 HP potions to stock up each week but only 3 or 4 of certain weapons.It picks a random number between your min stock and max stock and adds to that stock.
Im not sure about v2, but in v3 it restocks whenever your stock is below the min stock number. Im also adding restocking option from ACP, and option to turn auto restock off.

OK, thanks for the help in the installation, and i know i am getting to be a annoyment, but i have some other few problems. First, the main forum does not show the links to all the places like the RPG CP or the Heal.php or the clan.php or all of those. To upgrade, you will be asked to replace all your current FILE edits with new ones.
This is because code has so radically changed, that it would be too hard and too time consuming to manually patch each line.
All database stuff, apart from the SETTINGS (Battle Options and Items Options), will be rescued in the convert.

Reason why I cant transfer settings is that I would have to tamper with the datastore, which I have bad experiences with in the past :p

well, did you find any errors in the files? I did do it like it said in the read me, but it still does not show, I had to install an addon which shows it at the BOTTOM of the post, not in the part where it shows the user info.

Hi Revan,

I've finally got the RPG thing working for our site and it's working great. Everyone loves it, brings more interaction with eachother.

There's still a few problems here and there, but here's one I've got from a member.

I was trying to battle someone for Gils and they said that person didn't have that amount to wager. And for some odd reason I go back to make it 0 and I later see I have no gill left. Is this a bug? Just reporting it cuz now I got no money to re gain health. haha. alright thanks

You can only limit Battle Types' access to certain items. To do this, create a Battle Type and move chosen classes into this Type. Then, edit Item Type and check the boxes for the items that you wish certain Battle Types to have.

And about the eta, you can do the math:
Things I have to do before v3 final

Finish redesign of ACP (approx 60 % done now)
Look over the entire current hack, especially Speed and Evade, and clean up their function in battle.
Code about 10 new features, out of which about 3-4 are as big as some of the hacks in the Major Additions.... The tournament alone is almost as big as this hack in its own, at least if Im making it better than Inferno's :p

Now does it sound like I can give an eta? :P

It seems that my clans get clan points even when they fight their own clan members. It was my impression that you get these when one clan fights another. Is it supposed to be this way?

I think it's a server issue. The hosting company do have regular updates to their servers and sometimes the site can go down. They are cheap so who cares. I'll see how things go.

This is just a minor thing but I just noticed something on the battlescreen. When I'm hovering over the dead person, instead of just showing his HP I get "HP: <a style='color#FFFF00'><a style='color:#FF0000'>0</a></a>30" where 30 is his total life.

I don't suppose there's a fix for the always changing, weird background size yet?

Also, I'm trying to create class-specific items for all my classes. However, this comes up to many links in the itemshop. Is there a way to limit it so that someone can only see whatever items are available to whatever class type he is or hide the rest unless he specifically chooses to view them?

Is there a way to make the RPG Stats more compact in postbit template? I tried doing it myself but it never worked. It would be awesome if the RPG information could scroll along the sceen just like the Arcade marquee but maybe at a slow speed.

And set your styles up as child/parent styles, so they inherit the rpg templates.
OR, reapply the templates file to the new skin.

Well, I already have plenty of quailty Items with either 0 or 1 stock option. I was wondering if you could have some items that would only appear in the item shop every so often. Like a %, Say 1 out of 10 times when you enter the shop a special item will be there. Or like if you've won a certain amount of battles, Unique items will open up for users in the item shop.

I suppose I'm looking for more ways to let end user have a more customized, unique character. I'm sure what I'm asking would cause you to make radical time consuming changes to the code. Stuff like that is easier said then done. ;)

Hits install.Nah as you have to determine this for yourself, based on what sort of forum you want to have.
For isntance, forum of power users should have easier to gain stats and cheap weapons, and reverse, forums of few power users should have harder stat gains and more expensive weapons.

Towns (Controlled in Admincp) - Different towns have different monsters / shops in them :D
Ability to buy a town
Enchantable weapons (Say, you need to find an item (by either random chance or monster killings) - then use the item to enchant (add stats / abilitys) to the weapons
Special hunting areas (to find monsters in)
Different monsters controlled through admincp (e.g chance of monster appearing in certain area)
Drop files controlled by admincp (specify whether a monster drops a certain item and how often (e.g 1/5 of the kills))

OKay, I'm gonna sound like a giant nerd by asking this, but that's okay ;)

I'm trying to set up a Star Wars based RPG. The only problem is the sprites are based on gender, and not race. This makes it a little funky when someone has their race set as a Wookie, and their class set as a Rebel Soldier -- Because then their sprite is a human.

Is there a way to either add genders and just use it as races, or to have the sprites operate off of the races instead? I'm a little stumped.

I looked all over this thread for an answer to this but I couldnt find it...so Ill ask it myself :|

Im having a problem where for a few users the PP stays at 0/0, limit stays at 3%, and experience has never moved...this only happens for some users (including myself who is main admin), not all. Soo does anyone know why this is happening or how I could fix it? Take a look at the screen...

updating stats will change the rpg nick, etc. but doesnt fix the stats problem Im having (stuck n 0/0 PP, 3% limit, and no xp).

I think I recall having this exact same problem on the RPG for vb2..which seem really weird but it was happening there also with exact same 3% limit, 0/0PP, etc. Ive tried reseting the RPG (all options) but its still the same users who get the problem..Any help would be much appreciated :D

Not a problem man ;) One of the guys helping me is good with PHP and MySQL and is going to try and figure it out. If not, I can always just make the classes like:

Jedi (Wookie)
Jedi (Rodian)
Jedi (Human)
Bounty Hunter (Wookie)
etc, etc.

If he manages to get it, I'll post it here for others to use.

i'm having a problem with the feature allowing users to have their own itemshops, it doesn't seem to exist :confused:

in the rpg manual for users it says they can have their own shops by clicking a link at the bottom of the itemshop page, but there is no link.

in the admin rpg manual it says:

Refund: This determines how much money users should get back from selling an item. It is based on the original cost of the item. If the original item cost $1000, and this field is set to .75, then the user will get back $750, since 75% of $1000 is $750.
Minimum Stock: When the stock resets, this number determines the lowest stock that any one item will have. If this number is 4, then when the stock resets, there will be at least 4 of each item in stock.
Maximum Stock: When the stock resets, this number determines the highest stock that any one item will have. If this number is 7, then when the stock resets, there will be at most 7 of each item in stock.
Stock Reset Time: This determines how often you want the itemshop to reset the stock automatically. It is in number of seconds. 604800 = 7*24*3600 = one week
Personal Shop Cost: This determines how much it costs for users to buy their own personal itemshop.

'personal shop cost', i have no such option in my admincp.

i also opened up itemadmin.php in notepad and found the option isn't there at all.

anyone else got this problem?

Im running the RPG as well now. After fixing some of the templates, it runs very smooth now. Great job!

Theres one thing I can't figure out though. How can people actually use spells, weapons and potions? The shop is integrated and all, but that part doesn't work. Right now I only have a bunch of monks slapping each other on my forum.

It would be great if someone could point me to the direction.

believe it or not, RPG Inferno is based on Bitsys' RPG hack and another old IB hack that I've used both of them. Bitsys' RPG has been here months (even more than 1 year) before ZT made RPG Inferno and honestly one of the reason drove me to use vb was the RPG hack.

@SB2002, there's no problem with the Itemshop, I've tested and I can buy any items I want while my class is generic and that item is for generic class.

But well the itemshop is messy, Revan. I asked you to let users have many items in their inventories, it meant: you can buy 10 swords in the weapon shop, 5 armors in the armor shop, 4 accessories and 13 potions in different kind from the Potions Shop, 7 spells from the spell shop but can only equip 1 weapon/1 armor/2 accessories/4 potions/3 spells at a time, and the total items you can buy is 30.

well that way everything would be very easy and comfortable for users. We don't need something like: If you want to let user has 2 weapon, create 2 weapon shop hence if I wish to let them own 10 swords I will have to forget everything to sit there and create items for the shops. But actually with this items system, If I create 10 weapon shops it means everyone will be able to have 10 weapons in battle.

Actually when i first started making RPG Hacks, they were based on mine and members idea's. Since i first started making them for proboards, meaning they ran off JS. Once i had learnt php i turned those versions available for IPB while adding more functionality, then when i got vB i re-made inferno for that. I never knew anything about a Bitsy or his/her RPG hack, because i was no where to be found near vB forums at the time.

I went to Digital Toxicity to see if I could answer my question by viewing your RPG system, but was getting internal errors everywhere. Any who ..

I set up my RPG system to have lots of Catagories. I have Armor, Shields, Gloves, Helmets, Spells, Weapons etc and many more.

There seems to be a big problem when people buy one of each armor types. While testing, the most powerful weapon couldn't do any damage to someone with 5 armor types. I'm guessing all the armor buffs add up with each other?

Now when you get 2 people with a lot of armor, weaps dont have any effect. The only time damage is done is when the limit reaches 100%.

What would you suggest I do? Up the weapon buffs ..which would be bad with those with no armor. Or should I put all armor in the same cat so they can only buy 1 armor type item. Or should I lower/raise rAtk rDef mAtk mDef in the class and race settings. Or do I need to start over and scratch my current system? I have over 1000 items mind you ... ;)

Well. I do not suggest having too many weapon categories, because the defence buff is indeed cumulated into the final buff.
Possible suggestions:
* Raise the weapon buff, and lower the price of armor
* Make a new category with "+Atk +Def" items, with either dirt cheap items, or with huge buff values (or a healthy mix ;))
* Remove some categories like "Rings", "Tiaras", "Underwear" and "Codpieces" :p ;)

BTW, do you have a paypal account so people may donate some money to you if they like?Yup trial and error. Beware of making weapons dealing too little damage, because on my forum I have this problem. We are starting to afford Cure's, and we got 1500 HP and deal 60 damage with swords. D'oh :p
Hence why Im making Weapons Skills, costing PP to use and deals increased damage with base value in the original weapon buff ;)

And about the paypal, no havnt got one yet. But its only 27 days till Im old enough to get a CC, so if I find a bank without a yearly fee, Ill get one then :)

I have been wanting to install this fantastic hack for a while now. I have finally got around to doing it but noticed in the req_limitations.txt file that I MUST have uCash and uShop installed. Does that mean that without uCash and uShop installed this hack wont work and generate heaps of errors as decribed in the file?

I have been wanting to install this fantastic hack for a while now. I have finally got around to doing it but noticed in the req_limitations.txt file that I MUST have uCash and uShop installed. Does that mean that without uCash and uShop installed this hack wont work and generate heaps of errors as decribed in the file?

I don't quite understand sorry! :(Quite right, it will spew off errors all over the place, and every single bit about this hack that involves money will be broken.
In v3 I plan to have it allow the change of points field. It will still have to be in the "user" table, but it wont be limited to uCS :)

And about the guests thing, its not like this code hijacks the register code, it just borrows the userid variable after vB is done with it.... :p

Users rpg level remain the same , itemshop items are the same but classes are gone.

Do I have to re install ?
I checked the files but couldnt find ahy info about the classes,
I just want to add classes one by one from admin panel. The only thing I need the correct stats for each class so I can add them.

Another idea for v3!

Towns (Controlled in Admincp) - Different towns have different monsters / shops in them :D
Ability to buy a town
Enchantable weapons (Say, you need to find an item (by either random chance or monster killings) - then use the item to enchant (add stats / abilitys) to the weapons
Special hunting areas (to find monsters in)
Different monsters controlled through admincp (e.g chance of monster appearing in certain area)
Drop files controlled by admincp (specify whether a monster drops a certain item and how often (e.g 1/5 of the kills))

First, I would like to say that you made a very nice program here. Good job . I am having two problems however that I would like to request guidance for. The first problem is not that huge, but for some reason my admincp/index.php file when loaded only loads the navigation frame and not the information on the right side of the page. My other problem is that although I followed and double checked all the source code and template insertion instructions for some reason the usercp does not include any of the RPG options. As of right now everything else seams to be running smoothly. I am sorry if these questions may have already been answered in your thread although I did my best to find any information on this. If I need to send you a picture of my admincp I can (of course the user options look...well...the same so what would the point of that be ) Any help would be appreciated.

Do the edits still save? If they do, then its no problem. (And this doesn't appear in v3 anyways :p)



If you do edit the categories, giving them a battle function, then they do work in battle.
I made the weapons two handed and saved them and they still don't work in battle.

_________Hm... I cant say I have seen this happening before... I dont think the ACP loading stuff is related to this tho...
And try installing one of the navbar dropdown addons, this way you dont have to edit the usercp_shell :)
