Tigga - let me be the first to say what an absolutely outstanding hack this is. I've been using it now for about a month (or whenever you first released it on your website).

Installed and working great on 3.0.1. Fantastic work !!!! Waiting to vote for it on 'Hack of the Month'.

<i>question:</i>

does this allow me to create seperate /file.php? files with these options, or are they all /index.php?page=file generated?

The CMPS is outstanding and easy to add modules too. Fully customizable.

Importing styles and getting them to run right the first time without a bunch of major code work is a breeze.

Manuals, Instructions and Tech Support are the best you will find anywhere.

Content management come strait from the forums.

This is truly a great CMS for vBulletin.

Running on my site if you need a demo and to see how well it adapts to hacks added from this site.

the biggest improvement over vba homepage is the way the frontpage content is moved around and the method of adding new content. look at the screenshots he posted and you'll get the idea.

Thank you all for the compliments. :)
I've tried to create a portal/cms that would allow novice users and advanced coders alike to easily set up and manage their site's content, and easily add new modules without having to hack any files. Judging from the comments, it looks like I've acomplished my goal.

question:

does this allow me to create seperate /file.php? files with these options, or are they all /index.php?page=file generated?
You could rename the cmps_index.php file to anything that you would like, and change the 'page=' part to anything you would like (there's an option to change the 'page=' variable in the default settings). It also would not be a problem to have multiple copies of the cmps_index.php file on your server if you wanted one for your homepage and another for some other reason.

Can you tell us how many queries does your hack have?It is just about the same as vBa Homepage, except there is one extra query (which is very quick) to pull the info for the particular page. With all of the default modules enabled, I believe the number of queries is at 20. Here is a quick breakdown of the queries for you though:

News & New Archive - 1 query pulls both
Latest Threads - 1 query
Poll - 1 query
User's Avatar (part of the Welcome Block module) - 1 query
Buddy List and/or Online Users - 1 query pulls both
Mini Calendar - 3 queries (none for the simple calendar)
Stats - 2 queries
New Posts (part of the Welcome Block module) - 1 query
Quick Moderation - 4 queries (Note that these will only be performed for usergroups that have permission to view this module).
Also note that the queries will not be performed for any modules that are not active on a particular page.

what are the advantages of using this over the original VBadvanced?Excuse me for being lazy, but I'm just going to copy and paste the answer I gave when this was asked on our forum the other day. ;)
If you're good with PHP, or at least very comfortable with HTML, then the Homepage may be a good solution. If not, the CMPS is much easier to customize and change. If you would like to move one of the blocks in the Homepage, you would have to edit a template and move the HTML around. In the CMPS, you simply click a link to move the module to a different column, and specify the order in which you'd like it to be displayed in that column. Adding modules to the Homepage would require hacking the file to add the code. Adding modules to the CMPS only requires uploading the file, and then adding the module through the Admin CP. The CMPS also gives you more control and options when adding new pages, whereas the Homepage only allows you to replace the news section in the middle with content from a custom template.

i remember having a major struggle with making the main page 100% width last time
because the forums width is fixed at 750
is it easily done this time around ?The CMPS should go by the same width you have set for your forums. The only case I remember where someone has experienced a problem with this is when their news posts contained images that were too big and were causing the page to be stretched out. Other than something such as that, there should be no problem.

I've personnally not had any performance problems with it. As for a comparison against other portal systems, they might not be doing as much work on the homepage, it really depends on what you intend to display and therefore how many queries are run etc.

With vBAdvanced you can turn modules on / off, so I don't really see any problems with that.

no you misunderstand
the point of it is that i don't want CMPS to be same width as the forum

i'd like it to be 100% instead of the same width as the forum

is it easily done this time ?

Intex
06-06-2004, 01:23 PM
msimplay - this is pretty easy to do. Simply create a child-style from your existing forum style. You can then change the width of the homepage + anything else you like and anything you change will only apply to that style.

The advantage of using a child style also means that any global changes you make to the parent style will cascade to the child style, where you haven't modified that directly of course.

Hope that helps.

Can you run through the steps to upgrade from vBAdvanced in full please. ?Follow the install instructions, set up the CMPS, and then uninstall the homepage. There is a section in the CMPS install file that checks to see if you have the Homepage installed, and if so, gives you the option to import your settings. :)

Great product.. I am wondering if you guys know if its possible to split the news into two columns. If you post two news stories they appear on after the other on the home page - I would like to be able to have them next to each other - so first line would have story 1 and two, then the next line under it would have story 3 and 4...

thanks,

Zelda-King - you now simply get to choose a style to use. Go to AdminCP > Edit Pages > Default / Homepage. There you can see you can select a style for the page to use. The header is then called in the same way as the forum, by use of $header.

You then get the ability to create different pages and have different styles associated with them. If you create a child-style of your main forum style, then you don't need to copy / paste settings. Makes a life a whole lot easier.

Like so (http://www.gamercrossfire.net).

It's because the images are being called from the domain root directory. Not the forum root directory where the images actually are. On the previous version I had to adjust the URLs in the headers.

Zelda-King
06-19-2004, 12:00 PM
Never mind. I fixed this. I needed to change the header URLs to the full URL. eg, change "images/logo.gif" to http://www.domain.com/forums/images/logo.gif".

I'm currently using VBindex.

1. What is the major advantage of it over VBindex?

2. I have about 15 different viewing styles on my board. The one thing that is a little time consuming with VBIndex over VBPortal (when I was on VB2) is that any change has to be made in all styles since every box is a template. Is that the same with vBadvanced?

3. Are there any conversion issues for the people currently using VBIndex?

4. Is it possible to try this on my board without first removing VBindex -- and by renaming the index.php let my members preview both and give their feedback?

Thanx

Hello. I would like to know whether it is possible to create separates News Sections on the main page. Let us say I want to create 2 Sections, Section 1 and Section 2.

What I would like to do is this:

Create two Forums in my Message Board so that I separate the News that go into Section 1 and Section 2.

Have a sort of header for each section (which I already did successfully).

Put the Section 1 News and News Archive below the Section 1 Header and the Section 2 News and News Archive below the Section 2 Header.

Is such a setup possible? If yes, how can I go around creating it?

re: Step 2 - Template Modifications

....you will see a group called "Calendar Templates". Open the templates.txt file which was included in the zip file. Make the changes to each template that is listed there. Simply copy the content listed under each template name and replace the current content with that for each template. Not being a coder myself and not wanting to make any misteps I just want to confirm this part of the instructions. I find/found 28 Calendar templates. I understand I am to replace all of the existing contents of each Calendar template with the contents in the supplied templates.txt file? Is that correct?

Tigga, quick question for you if I may

If I install this, can I say....add a module to the left hand side, with a list of links, which when clicked, would open a page where the news is normally displayed? (did that make sense?)
So, if I wanted to add a guide or something, people can click the link and it'd open in the middle area, rather than a seperate page
I've been trying to do this with the VBAdvanced system, but i'm a beginner to put it mildly

58sniper
06-29-2004, 11:11 AM
Well, it would open a new page, but that new page would have all of the vBA modules. The vBA Control Panel allows you to create additional pages within the same template.

Hope that makes sense.

Installed, working great, I only have one problem, i have attempted to fix it, but all the ideas i can enact are not the way id like it.

THe problem is this: if you have avatars enabled, and your post has a quote towards the beginning, the quote does not wrap around the avatar, causing it to look really bad :/

I have debated moving the avatar to the title of the news post, but then it messes up that part, i believe you can edit the quote CSS to wrap, but i am not quite sure how that would work.

Any ideas i would appreciate it :)

Would anyone who knows the answer to my question care to take a shot at it. I think I know the answer and what I'd like is for someone who knows to confirm or point out what it is I would have misunderstood. I am to replace eveything in those 28 templates with the content of the templates.txt file?

RonH. - There are 4 templates referenced in the temlates.txt file. Replace those 4 templates with the content under the template name for each.

PranK - Seems to load at about the same speed as your forum's home for me. Do you have the 'Quick Moderation' module enabled? If so, that could slow it down on your account since it has to check a couple of tables. That would only affect mods and admins though since they're the only ones that can see the module. ;)

I seem to be having a problem with vBAdvance that I can't figure out how to solve easily...

The quote tag [_quote_] will screw up the news display tables. If I enable vbcode in news display, all content that is suppose to be in the right hand column is within the table borders of the news column (center column).

If someone wants to look a what I'm talking about, I will leave vbcode turned on for a short duration so that you can see the problem. Although, I'll have to turn it off again so the main page display doesn't get screwed up.

You can check out http://www.starpyre.com to see the problem. However, I'm waiting for domain propegation for the actual domain, so most images and links will probably not work.

pjdaley - That means you've mis-hacked your functions.php file. Get a fresh, un-hacked version of that file and reapply the file changes using Notepad or another simple text editor. Do not use Dreamweaver or any similar programs as they have been known to cause problems in the past.

redlabour - Reapply the file modifications in the readme file, then upload the install file to your admincp directory, go to it in your browser, and select the option to install only the templates.

lmongello - Your users will not see the page until you rename the file (by default it's called cmps_index.php so that you can set everything up and then rename it when you're ready to go live with it. ;))

romeshomey - The only difference you should notice is that the code to change in your functions_calendar.php file is slightly different. Just look for the first part of the code and you shouldn't have any problems.

XtReMaTriX - Yes, it should work fine with any of the 3.0.X versions. :)

Makes no sense...

I have this installed on my site in a couple of test directories using a clean install of vBulletin and a new database and all seems to be working fine. I understand that if I install this in my normal site directory nothing will be seen until I decide to go live and change cmps_index.php to index.php. My questions are these:

When I install this will any changes be made to the appearance of my existing forums? I would like to use the system for my main site and leave my forums as they are. Does installation change my existing styles in any way?
Related to the above point, is it as easy as using a newly-created style for the main site and the existing ones for the forums?
When I create a new template in order to add a page to my main site, for example "fees", the new URL for the page will be http://www.mysite.com/cmps_index.php?page=fees. Now, when I go "live" with the site and change "cmps_index.php" to "index.php" do the other pages I've created change automatically along with it, i.e. does http://www.mysite.com/cmps_index.php?page=fees become http://www.mysite.com/index.php?page=fees, or do I have to change each one manually?

Hopefully these questions make some semblance of sense.

1. No.
2. Not sure I follow you on this one... Why would you need to create a new style for the CMPS? By default it will use whatever style the user has selected.
3. The link to the new pages you create will be whatever you've named the file, so if you rename it to index.php, then the links to the file would have to be index.php?page=whatever

What I'm wanting to do is have a different header, layout, etc. on my main site from any of the selectable styles available on my forums. I don't want the style the user selects on my forums to have any bearing whatsoever on the appearance of my main site pages. Is this as simple as creating a new style and setting "Allow User Selection" to "No"? Sorry if I'm not being clear here.

Thanks for the quick reply, and kudos on the fantastic piece of software.

quick question regarding the last xxx posts. with the current version of vBAdvanced I use, users can still see the topics in this list whether they can access them or not, with this version can this list be restricted so that only topics they can access are displayed?

Hey Would dearly love to make a post here - Recently installed your hack and its very nice. I am upgrading from PHPNuke/PhpBB heavily modded (especially the theme). I found it was quite an effort to convert my phpnuke theme across, but well worth the effort. Just thought i might post one thing in the style system (for the borders).

I had to do a tiny bit of modding, but i think it'd be a good idea to have themes for blocks so you dont have to design each block individualaly, what i mean is a standard for blocks to be done, I've done a makeshift version that is just block_open module_content and block_close - works like a charm at the moment.

Love the module

Tigga

tccra - I'm pretty sure that should work. Just create the style, then select that style on your CMPS page in the admin cp.

Scutter - Your users should only be able to see the threads they have permission to see in either the CMPS or the Homepage. If not then you most likely have your forum permissions set incorrectly.

mattster2002 - I almost changed it so that all of the modules would be surrounded by one template where you could change that and have all of the module blocks change, but ended up not doing it mostly because I couldn't think of a good way to put the titles in the blocks when they contained links. I'm thinking I may just add those as phrases and change the way it's done in a future version though. :)

settings are all OK and they can not access the posts, but they can see the topic titles which I do not want them to see. Is there a way to stop these showing or is it a case where I say only certain forums will show in the latest topics?

PranK - Seems to load at about the same speed as your forum's home for me. Do you have the 'Quick Moderation' module enabled? If so, that could slow it down on your account since it has to check a couple of tables. That would only affect mods and admins though since they're the only ones that can see the module. ;)

Sorry mate, totally forgot about checking back here..

Ok sweet, well It does load quite slowly for me, but nobody else has complained about it, so it must just be the quick moderation.

Thanks Tigga!

Sounds like you've got another hack installed that's clashing (maybe the forum specific icon's one?). If you'll look in your modules/news.php file for:

iconpath AS threadiconpath

And replace that with:

icon.iconpath AS threadiconpath

That should fix the problem.

Hi,

I've just upgraded my board to 3.0.3 and I have a problem with viewing the portal. I'm sure it's just a stupid little error I can't see, but I still hope someone can point me in the right direction ;)

I can't see any error messages, the portal site is just blank (as in http://www.mydomain.com is blank, while http://www.mydomain.com/index.php is fine since I never replaced it. http://www.mydomain.com/portal.php is also blank).

Any ideas? Like I said, just upgraded the board, I've had the portal running at the board for quite a few weeks now with no problems, so there's no database error.

This is the 1st hack i am installing since I upgraded to 3.0.3... I have checked Funtions.php 5 times aready and tried the install 2 times already... I cant figure out what i am doing wrong...

One thing i did notice was on the function_calander.php page, the code I was to find and replace, wasnt exactly the same...

It said to find this code:

function construct_calendar_output($today, $usertoday, $calendarinfo, $fullcalendar = 0, $weekrange = '')
{
global $birthdaycache, $eventcache, $bbuserinfo, $vbphrase, $stylevar, $show, $offset, $colspan, $days, $months, $show;

But in my page it was actually this:

function construct_calendar_output($today, $usertoday, $calendarinfo, $fullcalendar = 0, $weekrange = '')
{
global $birthdaycache, $eventcache, $bbuserinfo, $vbphrase, $stylevar, $show, $offset, $colspan, $days, $months;

the $show was not listed on mine...

Can anyone help? I can try installing the hack again but i made sure i followed the instructions to the mark... I dont know what to do to get this stuff working...

Tigga
08-04-2004, 04:03 PM
The code in the functions_calendar.php file changed in 3.0.2 or 3 (I don't remember which). They had an extra $show variable in there, but finally removed it. That is the correct code to change though.
Were you by chance editing your functions.php file with Dreamweaver or another similar program? If so, try editing the file with Notepad or another simple text editor as programs like Dreamweaver have been known to cause problems in the past. As long as you're not editing with one of those programs and the change was made correctly then you shouldn't have any problems.

I have one big question (actually, 2 :-))

1. How can I manage it? Will my control panel be the same? Can I use it on 3.0.3?
2. This is the problem. I want to set up a site with many manuals, news posts, downloads etc. etc.. I currently use postnuke en phpnuke for this. But, the forums where they are working with are PHPBB and not Vbulletin. So I'm looking for a nice Vbulletin solution.
Is vBadvanced capaple to manage a huge ammount of downloads, manuals and news-posts? Will it look like a normal site? Just just with links on the side.
It has to be easy understandeble for every n00buser.

is this possible?

Davey - That's a function that is only in vB3.0.0+. I'm not sure if there are any other issues with RC2 or not, so your best bet may be to upgrade.

Halarkin - You're running vBa Homepage, not the CMPS.

MnBthunDER - Just add a template and then add that template as a new module. Or, I believe there is a module for this posted at vbadvanced.com

Megadeuce - No. Once you upgrade though you will need to upload the vbacmps_install.php file to your admincp directory and select the option to re-install the templates. And of course you will need to re-apply the file modifications to the new version as well.

ambrosious - It loads pretty quick on your site as a guest. If you have the 'Quick Moderation' module enabled then that could create a slow down on larger sites for groups that have permission to view that module.

Got as far as step one and stopped as changing all the image paths as requested caused broken links on all forum pages using vb3.0.1. The admin_cp paths now are relative, and that's what the vb program is asking for. (ie: from "/images/buttons" to "http://www.xxx.xom/forums/images/buttons"

Q. Is this just a temporary thing until all the modifications for install are made?

If so I should wait until there's less traffic on site to make the modification. If not what'd I do wrong? Sorry if this has been asked ... searched the thread and didn't see a post relating to it.

Thanks! Two questions, as I am ready to fire this up.
One: The reputation images didn't make the transfer. I have the path right, but I get text, and with those with REAL high it skews the entire threads.
Two: I created navbar2, where do I put the $navbar2 request? I tried in the template adv_portal but it didn't show up.

Ok, three questions. If I rename this file (cmps_index) to index, what happens to my current forum index? Or would it be better to leave the old one intact and call this one AAforumhome?

Thanks!

Dunno why it would cause broken images on the forums. Setting those paths
<soapbox>Which should be that way out of the box since a lot of people are extending vBulleting outside of the forums folder</soapbox> is important, as they are initially set relative to the forums directory. But CMPS is outside the forums directory. Without making them more absolute, they wouldn't work for CMPS.

Make sense?

I understand the reasoning, I prefer to have the full path. But when I add it vBulletin assumes it's a relative path anyway, so, at least trhough that first step changing:

"images/misc" to "http://www.drsol.info/forums/images/misc"

Laves the forum page looking for:

for example. The other fields seem to be OK. But the Miscellaneous images is doing this no matter how many times it gets cut, or pasted, or hand type, etc. Weird.

It should be easy enough to center but we'd need to know what method did you take to produce what you're seeing so far. Did you create a module and are then displaying only that module or did you create a new page and are using the Custom Template option of the new page, or .... ?

Davey
08-19-2004, 04:42 PM
I created a new page, and it gave it a template. The template seems to follow the "Custom Page Content" on the left.

I created a new page, and it gave it a template. The template seems to follow the "Custom Page Content" on the left.

ps, see attch. and the note on the attach screen.ACP --> vBa CMPS --> Edit Modules and then using the little arrows underneath the "Custom Page Content" module move it to the center column.

Now, bear in mind, that's assuming that you didn't create any other custom pages using the Custom Page Content that you want to keep on the left. If you did then you'll need to create a new module that does an include on the cmps_guild_members template and then edit your new page to display that new module (your new page would then have "Custom Page Content" clicked off and your new module clicked on).

Edit: PS - You missed blurring out one of the URL references (in the description for "Page Identifier"); if you don't want it known you might want to whack the attachment.

This is complicated stuff. The Custom Page Content option is a little bit confusing (it took me a bit to get the hang of what it really does) but in a rule of thumb you could go by is that if you want an item to appear on more than one page, like your navigation bar, then create a new module for it that references your template but if you have a one-off page, just as what you're doing here, then using the Custom Page Content feature will eliminate having to create an unique module just for that one page.

For what you're trying to I'd recommend (a) moving your navigation stuff to be in a new module so that you could then reference it from multiple pages; (b) change the Custom Page Content module back to the middle column; and then (c) on your new page you created go ahead like you did it above of having your cmps_guild_members template in the Custom Page Content field of the page. The end result should your navigation panel in the left column and your guild members module shown in the middle.

Once you get the hang of the Custom Page Content usage it becomes really easy to add new pages but, I'll admit, when I first installed vBa CMPS the concept threw me off and I had to get some insight from Tigga before I really understood it.

Edit: What kind of problem did you have when you tried making your new navigation module? If you let us know the steps you took and the results you got I'm sure we can get you up & running.

OK you're being very helpful, but like you said this is quite complicated, and difficult to explain for a n00b like me :P
check attachments.

cmps_listofmemb.jpg: This is the listing of members when you visit index.php?p=members. This is working as planned. On a sidenote, I wondered if this is possible to grab all the users who belong in the usergroup '8' automatically. But if this is not possible, it's not a problem.

cmps_navmod.jpg: This is the module I created for the navigation bar.

cmps_custpage.jpg: This is how the Custom Page Content looks.

cmps_nonav.jpg: The nav bar should be where the "online users" bit is.

cmps_page_home.jpg: This is how the home 'page' setup looks.

cmps_page_members.jpg: This is how the guild members 'page' setup looks.

cmps_temp_members.jpg: This is the members list template. As you can see, the contents have been hard coded into the html. I don't know where to begin trying to make that automated (select the users from that usergroup and insert them manually, like I said this probably can't be done so therefore I am not too bothered). This comes out okay.

cmps_temp_nav.jpg: This is the navigation template.

If you need any more info, just ask.

cmps_navmod.jpg: This is the module I created for the navigation bar.

cmps_temp_nav.jpg: This is the navigation template. You're 99.9% of the way there! I'm headed out the door but a quick look at the pics you included and the problem with your NavBar looks like it's just a matter of what names you used.

Try this....

(a) Rename your cmps_home_nav template to be adv_portal_cmps_home_nav instead; all of the vBadvanced CMPS templates should be prefixed with "adv_portal_" as part of the name.

(b) Change your "NavBar" module to clear the field named "Templates Used" so it's blank. Since the module is 'including' the template already in the "Or Template to Include" section you don't have to specify it again. Don't make any other changes to the module other than clearing out the "Templates Used" field.

(c) Change your "Default / Homepage" page to clear the field named "Page Template" so it's blank. You only need to fill that in if you are using the Custom Page Content module. On your home page you're not using that module currently so the value for "Page Template" would be blank and the "Custom Page Content" should be unchecked like you have it now.

Make those changes, save everything, and your navigation bar should start appearing on your homepage.

For your "Guild Members" page everything is working fine but if you want the navigation bar to appear on that page also then change the page, after you did the steps above, so that the "Navbar" module is checked on. The only other thing I'd do is rename your "cmps_guildmembers" template to "adv_portal_cmps_guildmembers" so that all of your vBadvanced templates are kept together. If you do rename it then be sure to update the "Page Template" field on the "Guild Members" page to the new name.

Give that a go and you should be OK. If something is still broken I'll be back at a computer again in about 5 or 6 hours so I'll check in then.

That worked amazingly. OMG, you've been fantastic! :D
I hate to ask too much, but what are your comments on making the members list automatically selecting all members from group id '8'? Is this possible for a n00b like myself? lol

Make sure you have put the full path to those images, in all your styles
e.g. you will need to change images/icon/icon1.gif to http://www.yourdomain.com/forum/images/icon/icon1.gif

I just tried installing this hack and have an error and can't figure it out.

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING in /home/virtual/site78/fst/var/www/html/forums/includes/functions.php on line 1887

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: devdebug() in /home/virtual/site78/fst/var/www/html/forums/includes/functions.php on line 952

That is the error that I get. I have uploaded the files and tried to go to http://yoursite.com/forum/admincp/vbacmps_install.php to finish the install.

Some one help me out please?

PS I would have posted this on the vbadvanced, but for some reason I can't post anything there, or look at any threads. Done all the stuff to prove my license, so not sure what is going on there.

Any ideas??

Great portal from what I've seen. I've installed it (my forums site is at www.gamehub.co.uk (http://www.gamehub.co.uk/)), but when I ran the install script, I got this error:

Parse error: parse error in /home/bowser/public_html/includes/functions.php on line 1887 Fatal error: Call to undefined function: devdebug() in /home/bowser/public_html/includes/functions.php on line 952I'm totally cack at coding and so I don't know what this means? What do I need to do to put it right?

I have read this whole thread and no one has explained why the images do not show up for some themes. I have all of the this an example:

The recent settings (in my Admin CP):
Title Image: http://www.mysite.com/forum/chromo/misc/vbulletin3_logo_white.gif

Once I right click on the missing image on the portal page, this is the path that it shows for the title image:
http://www.mysite.com/chromo/misc/vbulletin3_logo_white.gif

This is the same situation for my nav bar as well ... everything is pointing to the root, and not in the forum folder. I will continue to post this until someone explain how to fix it. There are several members here with this problem and whoever has the solution to it will be blessed in my book. I've had this problem in the 2.x version and I had to copy the header from the main forum into the header template in the myvbindex header.

From reading these threads and the instructions on how to install this, I shouldn't have to do this.

Hello rahzel_hx
I had the same problem and the error message was appearing at the top of the page. The problem is in your index.php file.
If you look at the full path to your forum line. it should read something like
/home/yourwebsitename/public_html/forums

NOT

http://www.yoursite.com/forums

I no longer get that error message as far as "Warning: chdir(): No such file or directory (errno 2) in /home/spiritno/public_html/cmps_index.php on line 19" goes.

Also, I changed the name of my index.php to indes.old.php and the file
cmps_index.php was renamed to index.php.

Hope this helps.

Hello,
This is a great addition to my forum. I have it up and running, however there are some image placeholders with x's in them even though I changed the image directory lines as instructed.

Also, where is my main forum?

Lastly, do I need to create a forum on my main board to feed info to a homepage poll?

Please help. If I missed the instructions on how this is done, please point me to the right direction and I'll gladly read.

Thanks

Hi. Installed this with relative ease but there is one issue. I installed this as a top level file, where as the forum is in the directory /board.

All of the links to PM, Profile, Content etc work, but the three links at the bottom:

View Forum Leaders | Mark Forums Read | Log Out

Do not, they don't seem to have the /board prefix before them. How would I sort this out?

http://www.aircrafted.com/index.php

is the page if you need to see it, thanks.

From reading these threads and the instructions on how to install this, I shouldn't have to do this. This would be because in your header/navbar templates (I think it's them. It's been a while since I installed this now), you have the image URLs as something like (for example:) "images/logo.gif" instead of the full URL "http://www.domain/com/forums/images/logo.gif".

You need to rename cmps_index.php to index.php for one thing.

mcyates

changed it to index.php and still exactly the same. It says you can keep it called cmps_index.php untill its been set up.

Zelda-King

Yes this is true. It has nothing to do with the problem. It's just several people forget to rename the file and they wonder why their index page doesn't show as the portal.

Apparantly support is best for this hack at the author's home site: www.vbadvanced.com.
