Bold, italics and colored user names don't work. Everything else works fine. I've checked the templates a gazillion times and they are all correct.

Used SynText editor.

You are able to purchase all of these things and the store shows an example of the bought color but it does not show up in threads.

Make sure you did all the edits correctly (includes/functions.php is the one which manages bold/italics/color IIRC)

That was the first place I looked...I can't find this option anywhere. Is it the "Action Manager"? If so, then it isn't so obvious as the field would be "Tax" not "Interest", so I don't think that is the correct area...

It's definitely not the UTT Point System Settings or the UTT Store Settings.

I would like to phase out the 'bank' function on my site, as it is serving no purpose for us right now. The problem that I have is that if I just turn the bank off, people with money in the bank will lose that money. When you make a new group you must make sure they can access the actions in the action manager.

There is no donate reason in uCS 0.93 or 0.95. I'm guessing this is a hack - might want to contact the author of it.

I can still tell you with 100% certainty that the problem is a missing addslashes(); though.

sorry for the newbie question but in the requirements doco it says that ucash and ushop must be installed....but i dont really want to use ucash and ushop on my boards (not because they arnt good hacks but simply because i dont need or use their features)....i simply want the rpg hack. Is there any way that I can install ucash and ushop but disable it from being seen by users, that way all the database tables and functionality is there for the RPG hack to use but the ucash and ushop stuff is hidden when not using the rpg system?

You could achieve that by just not doing any of the template edits..

Or, just add a new column to your user table called 'uttpoints'.

Adding only the uttpoints column will NOT work because theres NO way of GAINING money in the RPG Hack. All that is handled by uCS.

For instance, being able to cash in like 10000 points for merchandise from my site, where when the item is purchased, a form simply pops up asking for the user's mailing address and upon clicking 'submit' an email is generated and sent to the webmaster listing the purchased item as well as the user's address.

The points would then be deducted (i'm unsure if this is part of the uShop code, where when a custom item is purchased, the points are deducted automatically or if this is an action I'd need to include in my 'mail_address_to_admin.php' file.)

Is this something easy to do or is there another template I could modify to do it? (or is there someone out there with the skills and motivation?)

Ok, I edited action.boldusername.php to reflect what I think it should be for midi's to play in the profile. I've attached it here if anyone wants to check it for mistakes, or flat out tell me I'm an idiot. ;)

Now I think I just have to make the templates for it to pull from and add the action in the admin cp. No guarantee's on any of this, but hopefully I can get it to work. (Unless someone else already has and I'm just unaware of that).

Now when ever I click donate to user or anything like that I get no actions found.

When I try to run the installer again it says you already have the newest version installed. I could uninstall it but that would cause all my 4,000 plus members to loss all there points and I don't know if I want to do that to them. Any suggestions as to what I can do to fix this?

Very odd, is it still happening even after you get the no actions found once? Sounds like a weird error as i changed the prices alot during our inhouse developemnt

Look in the AdminCP at the 'Point System Settings' there you have probably some that add .x points to the user.

the default install of UShop comes with "buy a arcade pass" Well i delete it because i didn;t think i was going to use the arcade hack. In my previous forum system I had a nice hack which would allow users to buy 'virtual items' which had a description and would display an icon representing them underneath their name. They would have a quantity and restock just like in uShop. Just wondering if something like this would be possible under uShop.

You need to go to the purchase screen again, there should be a link to remove it.

125 pages of discussion, and not finding a general overview. Screenshots help but don't tell the whole story. Everyone seems to know what this is.

Bit of a tedious job to install, but did that, to see it in action. Not sure I made every mod perfectly, but hard to check since I don't know what it is supposed to do.

Looks like fun. The system awards points for various actions, such as posting, or when someone views your post. Discounts for loyal members and seniors ok, I get that. Fine tune the details in admincp, ok.

But what is a thief, how does that work?

What is the bank? How does that work?

I see talk of buying access to forums but no links/pages?

Is there a cookbook for adding you own action? Our users wouldn't give a rodent's rump for a bold username, but they will kill each other for photo access.

Has anyone connected this to a real payment sytem? Buying points for money? Does it make sense?

What are people using this for? Is it a fun toy, or is it a useful tool for ensuring access to those that earn it?

Appreciate it greatly if someone who knows the system could step back from the technical details and talk about the big picture, to help us evaluate, and guide us in the implementation.

I completely erased the "utt_store_asvs" table to retry an upgrade from 0.93, because NO ACTIONS were able to be used (following a suggestion earlier in this thread).

Of course now it won't let me upgrade because it think I already did.

Any help on recreating that table and then getting actions back?

Hi all, my first post here

I'm not sure if the orignal author is still supporting the hack but I have a problem, when I first installed the mod, it had a few problems so I ended up reinstalling/uploading it from scratch,

second time I installed it I don't have so many options, this is how it looked the first time round

Now no one can see any options below the Actions tab, also the 4 links that do show are dead links, they lead nowhere, maybe I missed something, they worked the first time, I don't really want to start from scratch again since I'm pretty sure everything else is perfect and don't want to riisk running into anymore errors, what .php should I look into to find the problem?

If anyone could help I would be eternally greatful, sorry if I was a bit vague or if this problem has been explained a few pages back

You know, the issue with the thief action not working has been brought up 4-5 times on this thread, but I don't see anywhere that it's been answered. At a minimum, can you just tell me what I could do to hardcode the rep points to taken off for a successfull thief. Then I can move on...

This is the code section that's not pulling anything up for subtracted rep points.

Don't know, you tell me, I've never worked with their system however it does preform the store function, so there is a chance that something on petz has overridden uCS, and we cannot provide support for other hacks.

That's correct.

Petz, in my opionion, totally hijacks the musername function...you lose all the markup you apply in the AdminCP as well.

If it was done the same way that Geeky Designs did this, the Petz hack would be much better.

is there a shop option to add a profile midi/mp3... there's a site... http://www.mystic.nu/store.php?s= it has the ability for it... but i just can't seem to find a place to get it for mine... if it's from an older version or something can we get an update to make it for this version or can someone give me a link to where it is if they know.... not so much meaning i have to host it... just where it will embed the play option into the members profile... like if i clicked it and bought it... i put in the link for the song i want to be playing and it embeds the link into my profile... if it's not made and someone does make it then make sure there's an option to delete it so another can be added in if they've decided to change their song

Your not alone. I just tried this out myself and it works fine for me. But not my members. Basically I can change anything with my profile and even do the thief! part.. however no one else on my board can see anything.. they just get no actions found. and yes I logged in as one and still saw the same thing

Check all code changes.. perfect.. looked at the template changes.. perfect.. check usergroups to see if there is access restrictions and I dont see anything. So what can be missing?

Petz, in my opionion, totally hijacks the musername function...you lose all the markup you apply in the AdminCP as well.

If it was done the same way that Geeky Designs did this, the Petz hack would be much better.

I had Petz and Utt store installed on my last forum which was VB3 Gold and never had any problems with either of them... :)

I think you need to study the all new version of vBPortal ;) that's if you are allowed to get in the contributors section ;)

The vBPortal that's in the make (current version vBP V3 Beta 5, probably one more beta before Gold) is completely re-written, it's an add-on! no vBulletin modifications are needed, nuke is completely taken out and blows all the other socalled CMS and portals of the map.

The only thing that could blow vBP of the map is the vBCMS from Jeltsoft which is still a mistery to us all.

Dont EVER edit any data in the database directly, vbulletin makes use of caches and other features that otherboards like phpbb and IPB.

There is an admincp based editor for the phrases for a reason ;)

AdminCP > Language and Phrases > Phrase Manager > Search and translate.

Err, what are you on about?

All you have to do is tell the system you are using that its 'points' field is 'money' or whatever you have chosen to use.

Whats the point of changing the field name in the database?

Why on earth would you edit the phrase data in the database?
