Where can I remove your hyperlink to your webpage, nice hack, but you're competition, I don't mind your name, but a hyperlink I mind.
If not, just won't use the hack, it's nice though :)
Can / where can we remove it ?

You are not supposed to remove it, but you can repalce it with URSTUFF.com. Also its not my site anymore.

Notice: Undefined index: HTTP_POST_VARS in /home/virtual/site1/fst/var/www/html/forumz/global.php on line 64
Notice: Undefined index: action in /home/virtual/site1/fst/var/www/html/forumz/global.php on line 64

To the auto of this script, please check the admin file of this script. The weblinksadmin.php files have some serious problems for the build 2.50 version and it was really annoying so I decided to use the 2.0 admin file for now since that file also work with the 2.50 build because my next option was to just uninstall this damn this until 3.0 comes out.
I hope it wont be long enough just like vbulletin 3.0 . because I hate waiting thats why I just said forget vb 3.0 , im just going to stick to 2.3.3 and keep hacking the damn thing

Is there a way to turn off members being able to submit sites to the database?
chrisvonc
12-20-2003, 03:58 PM
I changed "Submit A Link" into an email link and then created a 2nd link called "Admin add a link" based on the Admin CP link hack, and added that to the end of the options.
People can submit links via email and only admins will see the "Admin add a link" and can add the links to the database rather than having to go into the CP.

I could just be an idiot here, but where are we supposed to upload the contents of the 'templates' folder? I do not see any instructions relative to that. I am getting this error in my ACP when I attempt to 'view all links'
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: maketableheaderview() in /home/sportsni/public_html/forums/admin/weblinksadmin.php on line 255
Anyone??

Hi DrkFusion,
We are starting to make use of your vbLinks 2.0.12 now thank you at www.zclub.net. Very useful thanks.
Are there any plans to move the moderation/admin side of the links directory AWAY from the forum control panel please? In our club we're dividing up the tasks of running the site, like the photopost admin etc, and I really dont want to give people access to the forum control panel. I'm sure you understand what I mean.
If you need any help doing this I would gladly oblige. I really wouldn't know where to start on my own.
Thanks for the great mod :-)

NSeXcellent i dont believe you need to upload the templates anywhere as long as you ran the installation script, it should have added the templates for you.

The install file will take care of the templates addition.
You do not have to manually add the templates in.
As for your error, you failed to follow the instructions properly for the part of adding the maketableheaderview function in your admin/functions.php file.
add it and see if it works :)

I just re-insalled it on 2.3.3. Fresh install. Having issues. Cannot figure it out. Looks like something simple, but I cannot find why.
www.i-club.com/forums/links.php
The MAIN page is 50%, so are the rest, besides the Search and Submit the Link.
It should be 100% inside of 98%.
Can someone point me to why it is half the size it is supposed to be?
Thanks!

My link dir works fine, but I would really like to add subcategories. Is there any chance of getting the details on that? I am confident of getting it to work with minimal instructions, i just need something to work with

Hi,
your not wrong! I reinstalled and did a little jiggery pokery and the only problem I have now is in weblinksadmin I get
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: maketableheaderview() in /home/www/zclubnieW/forum/admin/weblinksadmin.php on line 12
Which might have been removed in the 2.3.0 to 2.3.4 upgrade.
Thanks for letting me know

The problem is that the field for 'hits' is set to 'text' in the table, it needs to be changed to INT so that it sorts properly.

Elvis...please check out the updates...all problems for the v2 version have been addressed, and a Clean version was released. The updated version has addressed all reported problems.
Also v3 is on its way...it will be released by another user within the weeks, with an easy to use convertor.

Well, for lack of this hack, I installed the one at https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?p=509921#post509921 and it is pretty slick and easy. No file edits either (except the link in the admincp/index.php).

I hope this doesn't offend anyone's sensibility, but the Links and Files hack for vb3 is pretty well tested, and now includes a conversion script for those who want to upgrade from vb2 to vb3.
Take a look at thread 60403
L&F was strongly influenced by this hack while I was still using vb2, so many thanks to everyone for their comments in getting it developed and working.
