Hi there,

Our vBulletin forum is displaying this error:
Unable to add cookies, header already sent.
File: /homepages/34/d520464733/htdocs/forums/includes/config.php
Line: 1

None of our staff members know how to resolve the issue, we went into a further investigation on the situation and found out that other people who had this problem, were hacked.

The question is, how do we go about fixing our situation to make our forum run again?
Also, will everything that was on the forum be restored?

Thank you,
TRT Staff

The unable to add headers error is common if you didn't use a plain text editor to edit the config.php file and thus you end up with an unseen BOM at the beginning of the script.

What is a BOM and how can we go about resolving this?

Sorry we are new at this.

Open the includes/config.php in notepad++, then in the Encoding menu select "Convert to UTF-8 Without BOM" and save it.
