Sorry, I was mistaken. Forum Access is a Pro-only feature, I don't know why it's possible for you to select it via the Lite version. I'll correct this in a future version :)

It says that an admin should be able to create an item and icon. I don't see where I can upload a new image/icon to create an item, I can only choose from a list.

Could anyone help me out with this?

Edit: Solved this by dropping my own images in the directory.

Add the items to the shop via Shop Management, then go back to Item Management and edit the per-shop settings.

You can do that with Lite version then, the Custom Item item type :)

You'll need to drop your custom images in /dbtech/vbshop/images/items and its subfolder /shop (first is a small icon for postbit, second is a larger icon for the shop list) to be able to select them :)

I just installed this, and already have xperpience.

Spent the last hour trying to use the xperience points in the shop, but coming up with zero points every try.

Here is my current attempt. At least this time I didn't bring down the forum with a vbulletin database error message, but still no points.

I have two questions...

1. I am using the horizontal postbit (not legacy) and I was wondering if it was possible to make the items go across instead of going in rows of two in the postbit. There are two images I am posting below. This first one is the way it is now in two rows.

1. Sorry, I don't think that's not possible because of the constraints of the postbit "side bar" that the item is contained in.

2. Not the order, but the Pro version lets users hide items :)

I'd like to built up another currency that is based on data gathered from the social groups (say points generated by posting messages or uploading pictures) and am looking to see if anyone has done something similiar.

Here's an idea: Let users 'use' one custom item they've bought from the shop on another item to combine the two in to creating a whole new item. I got this idea because I was trying to create a shop with Paints and Hats on my forums where when they used the Paint on the Hat it got rid of those two and awarded them with the new colored hat with a new image.

What happens is that the user can't purchase anything, the items don't even go to the cart. They click the Purchase button and nothing happens. I've tried it myself, with no luck. All items and permissions are set properly and I have enough points for the purchase.

I'm using vbExperience, if it helps. Maybe I'm missing something?

Just a suggestion though: is there a possibility to add a "change another user's title" function? Point Market System does that, and it's funny to watch the users make fun of each other, especially in my board where people know each other IRL.

Is there an admin setting you need to switch to allow someone to purchase more than 1 of an item? I've set the stock at "-1 = Unlimited" but don't see another setting which might be applicable.

I tried switching it to '0' and it works now. :)

There's still one problem, the purchase notifications private message you receive doesn't show the quantity they've purchased. Is that possible or is there an 'AdminCP Transaction log' anywhere? (is that included in the pro version?)

I think it does, the issue didn't exist with Point Market System, but it happens with your mod. And I'm not about to go back to an unsupported, not working mod :)


Suggestion: it might be solved via a vbExperience plugin, you should contact Phalynx and sort this out.

You.. can I guess. If you're going to make an eshop sort of like thing, it's possible. Just use another plugin that makes it so you need to buy points through paypal and what not. (Not sure vBCredits does it). Then set up your items in this shop and have notifications sent to you when someone buys a product.

You have an option to force the markup to appear everywhere "fetch markup username" is called. But that may have a negative impact on your performance depending on the size of your server and your forum.

We've had no reports of glow not working in any modern browser, but keep in mind we don't support ancient versions like IE6/IE7 :)

The Pro version still shows a copyright footer - there's a separate Branding Free licence for the removal of branding from Pro and Lite.

The copyright footer is displayed on all vBShop pages :)

The Pro version lets you define custom input fields for the "Custom Item" item type that you could technically use for RMT in conjunction with vBCredits II Deluxe, but it's a bit roundabout.

This is designed to let you sell stuff that affects the forum, like usergroup changes and forum permissions :)

I would love to have something where members could trade in points or credits in for physical items. Is this possible with this mod, or is there something out there that might do this even if it were a paid mod it would be worth it to me to have the ability to offer a reward for some of my more active members.

You need vBCredits II Deluxe Pro and link vBShop and vBCredits currencies (configuring vBShop to use vBC's currency) to achieve that :)

If you mean coding wise, then you can look at vB's payments_gateway.php :)

I don't understand one thing:

Why i can't disable points in postbit to be shown? For example for admins,mods etc..

I know that there is a option to completely disable it but i want to be disabled for staff only

To do that, you'd need to install our Postbit Tabs mod - you can use it without the actual tabs feature. You will gain the ability to control each postbit element's usergroup permissions.

If you mean make it so staff has no postbit info, but others do, then that cannot be done at all.

Using the most recent version of vBShop Lite available here in the thread, I have encountered as exploit which could be easily misused for next-to-malicious purposes...

Input fields for username styling allow anything to be input, and then sticks it directly into a <span style=""> tag. This allows for arbitrary code to be added in at the consumer's whim. I've applied a hotfix on my forum but would appreciate if an official update were made to fix this issue.

KybyrianCan you please be more specific as to what page you see this behaviour in?

I'm unable to replicate it in my initial tests on my test board, it's sanitised fine for me :)

As I said, custom shops are a Pro-only feature so yes, buying the Pro version will give you all Pro-only features as per the first post in this thread :)

Custom shops will function identical to admin created shops except for the fact that they cannot sell items that affect the forum (they cannot sell items that change permissions, etc).

Currency as rep power or rep pts? Reputation power is different from reputation points. Rep power is the max pts you could give. Rep pts is the total rep you received from your posts. My concern is to use rep pts (not rep power) as currency.

I don't know which of the two are stored in that column in the user table so I cannot answer that question, sorry.

My guess is it's reputation points, but due to the fact that reputation points can be re-calculated outside of vBShop it is not something we officially support (we just provide the option).
