If you have PayPal Donate for 3.x installed:
- Save your Donation log to .txt or .sql, to have it in case something goes wrong during upgrade
- This product will automatically save your old data to a new table (used by vB4 version)
- Remove old version after upgrade if everything works as expected

2. Donor option to have their name displayed on public list (admins should always see this)

Thank you for another great mod i had this on 3.8 and used to get donations on a regular basis, since i upgraded to vb4 i haven't received a donation since so this mod definatly works to get donations

I now have 3 of your mods just on my index page :)

1 question about this one, my paypal account is Dutch so when ever someone attempts to donate via this mod the paypal donate page comes up in dutch and most of my forum members are English so i lose potential donations just because people can't understand the page when it opens at the pay pal side.

Before this mod i put my own text link in the nav bar and the link location was "https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=xxxxxxxx" and that made it open the paypal page in English, is their anyway to incorporate this into your mod?

I have no problem with this. Can choose every amount I want and it is correctly forward to the PayPal form.

Well you can try it here www.brotherhoodofgamers.com , click the donate button in the navigation or go to forums and you'll see the bar appear, click donate for any amount, and it shows up on paypal as 5 bucks. I have no clue why.

Plus, how do I make the Bar show up on EVERY page?

The field must be shown after choosen "custom".

Hey Andy,

Remember, it's user number and not user name.

Thanks for the info. After looking at this, I don't think it'll work well for my clan. We've always used the "Subscription" function that comes with vb and it has worked well. I wish someone would do a mod that somehow uses that, but maybe adds a donation bar and some other functions this mod has.

Did you know you can add a subscription into this mod? In options you can apply this:

5,10,20,25,50,100,5|6,10|6,20|6,25|6,50|6,100|6

So what that will do is give your users options to 1) donate incriments of 5,10,20,25,50,100 and 2) subscription packages 5|6,10|6,20|6,25|6,50|6,100|6

The 5|6 means $5 for 6 months so if you wanted 12 months you would add 5|12

Alternatively, I'm testing this evening with Adam from AWCoding the AWC Donation System.

While this would work as you say, if possible I'd rather not make it any more difficult for those attempting to donate than it needs to be. ;)

Would it be possible to click a "Send donation as anonymous", then set a new DB column to true? Then if it's true, don't display it on the output page unless it's an admin (or a group ID defined in the admincp)?

I hope this doesn't come off as a complaint, it's not. You write excellent software. It's just that when it comes to donations, things need to work as easily as possible and have the exact options the membership wants/needs, otherwise they don't donate.

If anyone is interrested here is how to change "donate" on the navbar:

In the admin panel go to "Languages & phrases", then "search in phrases". Search for donate. On the search results page go to the section "GLOBAL Phrases Containing 'donate'". Go to "vsapaypal_donate" "Standard Phrase Donate" and click on edit. Then enter in what you want it changed to and save.

lol Thanks for that. I didn't think to look in there! I was finishing of a new style and the last stylevar I had to find was this one! I spent half hour going through all the vars before I gave up lol.

Valter: Any chance that this could be changed to use some of the styles colours? like Forumrow_background and Forumrow_background_first_entry? It can be hard to find a colour that both suits and makes readable on dark and light styles at the same time.

I have one request I hope you will look into, maybe add to your next update and that is to make the Donate flash in the navlinks. An enable/disable option for those who do not care for that sort of thing. For me it would be helpful to get my members attention.

Ok..I took a coder's advice, renamed the xml and installed it so it would install two instances of the donation bar. It worked, but the NAME stays the same when I changed it in the 2nd xml, it changed the first one as well even though there's two seperate installs. ALSO, I only have ONE spot in the ACP options for it, instead of 2 for the 2nd install. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
I attached the screeny so you can see the name that duplicates for the donatioin bar. This is the way I want it to look, just want seperate name, ACP options, etc. What do you guys think? Thanks!

Sounds like the person that made the payment has been limited to be checked out... you will be limited till they are cleared, as of now, sounds like you are linked to a fraudulent PP member. Paypal stinks.

Besides the donation goal, and the donations made / status list not working, I also see that it's not updating the user to the specified Subscriber / Donation Group.

Anyone who can fix these problems ASAP for me, it would be greatly appreciated.

Here is the things not working:

-Donation bar
-Confirmed/Unconfirm/Delete donations
-Move or add confirmed donors to your VIP/Donor usergroup
-Donate stats (total donations, total amount, number of confirmed/unconfirmed donations)

There is no easy way to change DonBar position. It requires plug-in editing. Option may be added in next version.

also, this program sends pm's and email weather or not a donation is even completed. my test account just selected a monetary amount and then canceled the page, but it still showed up in the donations list and the pm was sent to the admins.

this program needs to wait for the confirmation code sent back from paypal at end of transaction before sending out pm's and Emails to admins.

I dont need pm's and emails sent for every fracking user who decides to just look at the donation page and see what is available in the selection pull down box.

OK on my own I edited all plugins files and templates and added the webmaster usergroup id to all the arrays " $bbuserinfo " that I could find.

this has gave me access to the donate list but confirmed only. not yet confirmed and the option to move them to the donate usergroup, still are missing.

I got the same issue with you guy about this donation bar progress from version 3 to 4, but still can't find the solution nor the answer from the coder. I don't know when this going to be solve :confused:.

Once you have received the pay-pal transaction confirmation email. Someone with Admin level access to your vB must then click on Donation Goal link right above the Donation bar. Select View Donations. Then tick the box next to the member that the transaction was completed and select from the options on the lower pull down menu.

That will add the donation and advanced the donation bar.

Please disregard... I'm really stumped as to how it was inserted into my PayPal profile but it was in my Seller Preferences to have IPN sent to my domain.com/ipn.php - this is weird because it's my personal paypal account pointed to my forum's domain when all transactions from my forum has a separate paypal account. I don't know how it got mydomain.com/ipn.php in there but either way I disabled it and I was receiving the e-mails because I had two e-bay transactions that were trying to use the IPN. In any case, I'm confident that it was unrelated to this modification.

There is a bit of confusion here with the subscription system Valter...

It is telling my members that they're paying "$20.00 USD for each 6 months, for 6 installments".
Is there no way to disable these installments, and just pay a lump sum?

All I'm wanting is a system to keep track of donation times, so users can be removed from the special donating usergroup after a certain period of time. Automatic removal would be nice, but I don't think your mod supports that.

I personally think this mod would be easier to manage if it was integrated with the forum's Paid Subscriptions feature. This way addition and removal from usergroups is customizable... but YOU have added the nice donation bar and interface.

Same problem here. New installation. I got the PM stating that a user donated however when I click the View Donations page there is nothing there. HOWEVER, if I click donate abd donate money, I get the PM and I am able to see myself, just no other users.

SUGGESTION:

In the next update, would you consider adding an option for the "
Goal Amount for Month, Year?" section? It would be really nice to have a "one off" where we can ask for donations for one specific thing instead of aiming for a month/year goal.
And a dream feature would be able to have more than one donation type. For example, have a donation goal for site expenses and then a donation goal for a member who had a mishap and we want to raise funds for a gift.

I made a JS Enhanced Widget and selected a custom template.

IS there a way that we could have permissions setup so that only a certain permission level could setup a subscription and everyone else would just be able to donate? We have kind of a unique requirement with dues for members on our website, but we also need to be able to accept donations from other people.

jJust installed on a site and had first member donate and all worked great except for when he finished with paypal he was redirected back to the site but somewhere in the FAQ section.

Is there a spot where the redirect address is to see where its directing people to and can it be changed?

I get this even on the Forums Home page. Not surprisingly, I get the double links with VSa Advanced Forum Rules as well. Nice to know that microNEWSLETTER is the cause, but I'm not sure I want to give up using it. So, I found a workaround. I use vbh add new tabs 1.2 to create tabs to the Donate page and the Rules page, and turn off the navbar links. This not only removes the problem with the double links, but it also makes the Donate and Rules tabs visible on the entire site, not just the forums. (That's something of a pet-peeve of mine with many of the vB4 mods!) So, I've killed two birds with one mod... :D

So far, it's working very well for me. However, is there any way to disable the (User: xxxxxxxx) that appears on the PayPal page? I'm using this for a political campaign web site, and a significant number of the donors will not be registered members at the site. So that particular feature isn't of much use to me, and seeing (User: unregistered) on the PayPal page might confuse some people.

With that said... you've supported this mod with one sentence since March 7. That's 3 weeks with one sentence which did not help any of us experiencing the issue of not having new donations show up on the "view donations" page when completed.

I've installed VSA - PayPal Donate and everything runs ok.

I would now like to attach a specific user groups with Donate.

The user groups I give as donor names. These user groups (ID: 14).

Just as I'm understanding, I have to enter in the ID VSA - PayPal Donate.

I would understand that formula you are using as $10 / 6 months.
Why not change it to $60 / 6 months? or smaller?

Tried to change a setting in it and it says permission denied now. Tried uninstalling it then reinstalling it, nothing. Uninstalling it till there is a fix for it.

Thank you for this mod. It's working great over here. I've only one question. The users who donate an amount for examples six months, they will get an additional user group. After the six months they still on that user group. Is there an possibility that they automaticly remove the additional user group?

I've only just become aware that this is what actually happening - not sure if it's a mistake in the phrasing or the code but its deffinately very missleading.

Can you add the option to pay monthly for X months please? I know my users are reluctant to sign up for an open-ended system.

Is there any plan to intergrate with the PayPal API so it's not neccessary to have PMs going to users after navigating to PayPal? - A long shot I know but I thought I'd ask.

That's a great mod but I've a trouble, I force that user can only select a suggest amount but I've some users that send me less the minimum, like 1 Eur, I don't understand how they do it but they do it and I found it in the donator list with 1 eur... :|

However, the donation goal bar never moves off zero and the users don't get automatically promoted to the contributor secondary group I set up to recognize them. I thought at first that maybe these settings would be updated via a vb cron job, but 36 hours after the first donations I still have zero on the donation bar and no users added to the contributors group. I've poured through the settings several times, and they aren't that complicated... pretty much self explanatory so I can't see why these elements are not being updated.

EVEN when i click the donation and don't put anything in, it stills send me a pm. I want it to send me a pm when money is donated, not just clicking on the donate link. Thoughts?

How do I get round that?

If its within Paypal, whereabouts is it please as I've trawled through my Paypal account and can't find anything or anywhere to change from encrypted to non encrypted.

One question: The default place location for it be shown is "index", which makes it appear on forum home. However, other pages based upon index (by other mods), such as easy forms, the donar bar appears.

Is there any way to make the donar bar appear only on forum home?

I have had several donations and they all have problems with paying with cc through paypal. It does nto make any sence. I had 60 100 and 30 so far and they all got the same message that the cc did not work on the donation...
and I can not see if a problem I had the paid pro version for earlier version but just downloaded this one I dont knwo why it is not working?

I've read about 6 pages and haven't found anyone with the same problem yet..

I'm using vBulletin 4.0.4 PL1 and although this is a great plugin/feature - it seems to have broke my template when its enabled..

It basically covers up the bottom "Post New Thread" button.. Anyone know how to fix this?
