How to manual add a donation?

there you can enable manual Donation amounts and/or set cerain amounts to choose from. Even Supcriptions are possible this way.

All you need is a working paypalaccount that is a sellersaccount because donations work only without the reciving cap of paypal.

Yup getting the same thing when I set up 5|1,10|2, etc etc. When I have 5,10, 15 they work, but not per month settings.

Any fix for this?

We replaced the word with an image as well. I can't remember what it originally said. Probably something like "donate now".

Just find that phrase and replace it with html image code.

Has been a long time ago, so i am not fully sure. Maybe somebody else can confirm this.

As you can see the hack changes my doc width somehow. It may be the style fault and not the mod though i would welcome an assistance you could provide. It is only occurring in the forums, everywhere else the doc width is what it should be.

Solved: Found an additional div tag when the mod is used. Though I could not find the additional div in the xml so I'm assuming my style was at fault. So I removed the div tag from the xml and boom its working :)

Working fine on my 4.1.7PL1 and has worked fine since 4.1.3 without any problems through all updates.

Mine is fairly heavily modded/customized and I've had no issues but maybe try disabling other mods (if any) to see if there's a conflict.

The hack is not set up to allow for this to my knowledge. That is something that you would probably have to add on to the code or have a php coder do for you.

Here's how I set up my donations:

5|1,12|3,18|6,33|12

This means $5 for 1 month, $12 for 3 months, $18 for 6 months, $33 for 12 months.

I think this mod doesn't interface with paypal very well. Here's what happened with the subscriptions:

User selects $12 -> Pays $12 up front for 3 months, recurring 3 times, for a total of 9 months.
User selects $18 -> Pays $18 up front for 6 months, recurring 6 times, for a total of 36 months.
User selects $33 -> Pays $3 up front for 12 months, recurring 12 times, for a total of 144 months.

That's not helping my problem... the goal bar is not displayed on my forum home page... the only option was index which is fine as default but still nothing showing... it has been reinstalled a dozen timmes and still not showing... others have this problem but have no answer...also if you look back a few hundred pages users asked if there was a way to add this bar to other locations of the forum and still no answer... I would like it to work as it works for others...

What is your forum link? It might help if we can actually see what the problem might be. Also if I remember correctly there is an off/on option for the donation bar in the settings. Make sure at the top of the settings for the hack that its enabled. And then make sure that close to the bottom that you tick "Yes" for the option "Enable Donation Bar" and put a goal amount in the next box. Click the "Save" button if you make those changes. If it still does not work then you can install the product again and choose to overwrite it when you install. Sometimes products will not install all the way.

It wasn't showing on the Index page cuz the goal I had set on zero... after setting to 100 it showed fine.... but its showing under vsa chatbox and no one has answered how to show in other locations yet... we will have to keep cking back to see if there is an answer...

By default its set to show in certain areas only. I believe there is a setting for where you want it to show. Where did you want to put it? If its not a setting in the drop down of the op tons then you would have to have special code placed in a template of where you wanted it to be.

I was using the CYB version for a couple of years and was glad to see this for V4. However, I prefer the collapsed donation bar as it was in the CYB version.

I made the necessary edits to the vsa_paypal_donbar template to reduce the height of the donation bar as much as possible. The result is in the attached screen shot. If you would like the modified template, I can send it to you or I can just export the modified product file and send it.

I like this hack but I wish it had autoconfirm, etc. like the subscription service does. I need to check the donations several times a day to make sure everything is acknowledged and people are added to my donor group.

My VSa Donate got hacked and the paypal e-mail address was changed. I've looked in the Control Panel log and I only see my update today when I reverted the paypal address back to mine. This really scares me that someone was able to change the e-mail address without it showing up in the Control Panel log.

Not quite sure how it could have been hacked let alone the paypal email address changed unless of course it was one of your own administrators? I have been using this mod for a long time now and not one issue at all. Check the integrity of your staff would be my suggestion before checking the integrity of this mod.

That's what scares me about the attack/hack/etc -- when I went into the Edit Options in the control panel, me changing the paypal address back to what it should be was logged in the Control Panel Log. There's no log of it being changed the first time which makes me think it's either a PHP or SQL injection that it completely bypassed the Admin CP. Either that or whoever edited the options somehow knew how to remove ONLY that entry from the log since the rest of the log is intact.

Let me explain, if someone donate 10 usd get trophy but if the same user reach 20 usd they get another icon (like a star), so i need to knoe if it is possible to create another group inside this mod?

I think this mod has got a bug.

When someone go to "donate" then click on 5 usd and get redirect to paypal page, only when this step is done, the user automatically is added to donators list without make any donation at all (of course this user must wait for my confirmation and set to new user status) but it is not the point because normally first he must confirm paypal transaction in order to appear on donators list, but it doesn't work like this.

Some fix for it?

But you didn't get the money either because the guy just clicked on submit and then he doens't even need to log on his paypal to confirm the payment and he is added on the donator list.

Normally it should confirm transaction first and then system should add this guy in donator list.

If anyone is interrested here is how to change "donate" on the navbar:

In the admin panel go to "Languages & phrases", then "search in phrases". Search for donate. On the search results page go to the section "GLOBAL Phrases Containing 'donate'". Go to "vsapaypal_donate" "Standard Phrase Donate" and click on edit. Then enter in what you want it changed to and save.

I have the following problem:

After configuring all points needed in VSa Paypal Setup page i click on the Donate Button. I will then redirected to the paypal side, which tells me that i cant do donations from an unsecure donate button on an unsecure side. Also that the paypal client does only accept encrypted payments.

Sorry my english isnt good, i hope you understand what i mean. If not i will ask a friend of mine for a proper translation..

I am using this mod and think it is great. My donations run on a yearly period and I keep track of these in an admin calendar with reminders. Now what would be great if this could be included into this mod. So what I would like to see are the following.
1. A member can check on their donations and when they would be due next. I know they can now look at the donation list but I would like to see it placed into the members profile just on their donations.
2. When due the members is sent a PM telling them.
3. The member is taken out of the assigned usergroup.

I am also prepared to pay for this to be done so please PM me with cost if needed

There seems to be a bug in this mod when uninstalling it.

There is a plugin that doesn't uninstall- I see in the product XML file it is because it is assigned to the product "vbulletin" instead of this product.

other issue is when a user have donated, paypal complete the transaction but the percent of the donation bar don't show the new amount of the donation, the bar always say 0 USD, how fix that?

In the settings where it says: "Show DonBar on (comma separated THIS_SCRIPT locations)
Blank to show on all pages (not recommended because of server load)"

I put in "donate" and it worked. It shows only on the donation page now.

Ill check but I believe it may be a time zone thing. . might be using code date instead of vbdate or time instead of vbtime this would affect time zones. Looking at the screen shot it may be a translation thing . Did you uninstall an reinstall it..?

Got it: I wanted to let all moderators manage the donation list. Had to change the addon to explode the list of donation viewers, not only Administrators.

I think we are looking for two different things. I wanted to change what showed up on the actual Paypal page. I think you want to change what shows up on the donate page on your site. Try Phrases - vsapaypal_title

I upgraded the XML file just before I upgraded from VB 4.1.12 to Vb 4.2.0. It worked fine before I upgraded but now it doesnt show up on the navbar with 4.2.0. I tried to re-upload the xml file again and still no luck.

Plugin does not work for me.

Any custom amount / amount that isn't a subscription directs to the main paypal homepage regardless of the paypal payment address entered.

Any subscription amount directs to a page saying the link is invalid.

Running mod version 5.0.1 on Vbulletin 4.2.0. Reinstalling the mod made no difference.

Color lime of "donate" is gone, but simply changed it back in the language settings.
But my problem is that I still cannot change it manualy.
When I enter the amount and user ID and click on "Go", the mod sents me to the smilies FAQ again.

I'm not sure about errors you get. Have you tried with different browser, or default style, or disable other addons...? I'm testing my releases on clean forum installation, with no other addons installed, and using different browsers. I've never experienced such issues.

I'm working with a clean vB version, otherwise I could not get your update so soon.
But my forum does not only use this addon, because I need all kind of addons.
When I try to donate manualy the browser sents me to http://www.***.com/forum/misc.php?do=adddon
***= forumname and this page contains the FAQ of the smilies.

What url should the browser sent me to?
I tried it with Firefox, Chrome, Safari and even Explorer. All are giving me the same problem.

UPDATE: you can ignore my question. I figured it out.

In the event anyone else wants to do the same thing, enter "misc" in the Tab Script(s) input field and the Navbar link should appear highlighted when selected. So the fields in the Navigation Manager would be as follows:

Title: Donate
Target URL: misc.php?do=donate
Append 'tabid' to URL: "no"
Tab Script(s): misc

You need to uninstall hack and install it again but not upgrade!!!

I said it before and I have to say it again - something about this modification is NOT secure. Yet again someone else's paypal address was able to be entered into the settings. I had two donations come in that didn't go to my paypal account and when I logged into my VBulletin Settings someone else's paypal address was in the settings. There's nothing in the VBulletin Control Panel logs for someone logging in and making this change.

Again - there is an active exploit for this modification.

If someone is able to change settings in your AdminCP it has nothing to do with this add-on.

All I know is they are not doing it through the AdminCP. That means they're somehow doing a SQL Injection attack which changes the value in the database. This is the second time the settings ONLY for the PayPal Donate mod have been exploited. No other changes are being made to the forum.

The fraudulent e-mail address that is being added into my settings is: memogl39@googlemail.com - They have stolen over $100 in donations from my site. :(

The real pain, too, is that PayPal turns a complete cold shoulder to the issue. I've tried submitting multiple fraud cases with them over this and it never gets any response. Trying to submit through the Resolution Center yields an error message so I tried through the Contact Us forms they have and those don't get a confirmation e-mail or any type of response.

When I alerted the users that their donations went to a fraudulent user, they submitted cases to PayPal and they told them there was nothing they could do... Absolutely ridiculous.

if the above is what you have in the donation amount list then you have it wrong this is why you are having problems check the first and last numbers

This information only shows in PayPal, so unless someone has access to the user's PayPal account they would not know.

The only thing that shows in vBulletin is the username and amount. You can hide the amount so it does not show to users. You can also just not confirm the donation and nothing about the donation will show to users.

I think maybe I explained it wrong. I do not want the mod telling paypal that the donation is from my website. For example, right now the mod tells paypal it received X amount of money from user X from this website. I do not want that info sent to paypal.

You're not correct. Do you think I just made it up?

This is how my mod has worked from day 1 - others may have a different experience. For me - donations are recorded originally as an "unconfirmed" donation. This "unconfirmed" donation is only visible to the admin. Not until the donation is manually "confirmed" by the admin will it show to any user in the Donations List.

But when users want to make a donation from this page in Spanish .. directs them in paypal in German language.

Is there any way to manually insert the language in the configuration, for display in the language selected in the page of paypal.com?

Is there any way to fix this d-m-y issue without removing the locale-setting from the language?

This affekts "very interesting" date an time-format on my forum which can not be fixed by editing the language settings in vB-options.

The mod is fully phrased. You can edit all phrases by going to the Phrase Manager.

For this particular one: Search in Phrases for "vb_navigation_link_vsapaypal_donlink_text", then change "Donate" to "Sponsor".

I would like to incorporate that table into the donation page so people can see what others have donated easier than having to click a second link...

I thought to just copy the code from the template vsa_paypal_list, but this just creates a second table that isn't updated when a donation is made. Any ideas or help with this?

i had an issue with this mod for my IE8 users only. i use a bright green font for this mod so the word "Donate" really stands out.

however, the green colour seems to spill over into the forum fonts too:

Same problem, and others. I just today switched to Dragonbyte's Paypal Donation program. It looks pretty good and has a lite version with some good features.

Its working now. You have to confirm the payments. You have to set at least one ID to be able to view donations. Then under quickview, you get a new link that says 'view donations'. When you confirm it, the VIP label or image you've set appears. This is also what drives kicking off automated PMs thanking people, which are pretty easy to customize.

From reading through the pages and pages of replies, I've seen a few people ask if there is a way to have the donation selected as "gift" to get the full ammount.
Although this has been asked a few times, I can't find an answer to their questions anywhere.

Can gift be selected?

Hi,
From reading through the pages and pages of replies, I've seen a few people ask if there is a way to have the donation selected as "gift" to get the full ammount.
Although this has been asked a few times, I can't find an answer to their questions anywhere.

No, not as far as I know. So when people donate, we are getting less and making PayPal rich.

i had an issue with this mod for my IE8 users only. i use a bright green font for this mod so the word "Donate" really stands out.

however, the green colour seems to spill over into the forum fonts too:

all other browsers seem to be ok though.

I had this exact same problem. I set the color to be light blue and Members using IE8 reported being unable to read some text because it was light blue on a white background.

I think a PM is better. Kinda like a receipt for the member.

I think instead of a link under just forums, I'd like a donate tab which obviously would be visible on all pages. How do you change the color of the text in a single tab?

Some feature requests:

Add time of donation to donation list as well as date.
Add a feild for notes.
Allow donation list to be downloadable as a CSV file.
Add the option for a Donate tab (as opposed to a link under the Forum tab)

Had to uninstall. After I updated to 4.2 it went away. Any idea why?

Probably because of the Navbar. I'd just try re-installing it. I'm using it fine on 4.2, but it was installed after I upgraded.

Buth where do i changed te date format to %d-%b-%Y ?
Only shows now d-m-y as lttrs, not like 11-11-11

Never mind about that image I guess. I figured out how to put an inline image in with the "Note."

it didnt works anymore for me. ive it installed for many months but i can't remember if was after to update to 4.2 that didnt work anymore :(

yes,i did it but didnt works.

open up VSa_PPDon.xml
and search for d-m-y
and change them to
%d-%b-%Y
save and re import the mod
allowing overwirte

Dude, I cannot make it work with Dartho mobile style. for vb version is 4.2. Is there any chance to get the donator's IP log.

Maybe try disabling and then re-enabling the mod.
