First of all before i ask my question, is this mod even supported anymore?

My first question is this...
I have a mod that automatically moves people to a different usergroup "inactive usergroup" for those people who are marked as inactive for not checking the site for the past 7 days. The mod then puts them back in their regular usergroup once they check the site.

The problem with this is that the award automation gives them the same award over and over again for usergroup change. Is it possible to somehow make it so that if they already have the award, don't give it to them again? I would like to do this for all our awards, we don't issue the same awards multiple times in our community.

My second question is this..

Our donation system automatically adds an additional usergroup to a user who has donated. The automatic awards system doesn't recognize additional usergroup changes, only primary usergroup changes. Is it possible to please make it so that if an additional usergroup is added to a user he gets an award?

I found two problems....Just giving you guys a heads up. Screen Shots to follow.

The first one is an error message that happens when a user tries to request or recommend an award.

Getting this as well, members can't recommend awards because you get the "Contact Administrator" Error, and the "Request Award" just goes to a blank page, pure white, not even an error!

This is the only system for v4.0.4 that I've found, please help! =)

Turns out despite the error, the recommendation is still hits the ACP. Don't suppose there are any coders that would like to look into a fix ...

I do have a few bugs fixed, the major one is with the award recommendation pages in the AdminCP.

At this time, I am only working on bug fixes only, no new features at this time. Those of you who are wishing to submit BUG REPORTS, please send me a PM so I can keep track of them better than reading page after page.

Hi.

I asked the following question for the version for vB3.8, but I thought it may be fruitful to ask here, too, since I suppose I should be looking at the same files for a solution, regardless of vB version.

Anyways, is there a way to align the "Image" column above the "Description" column? I ask for two reasons. First, I'm using a fixed style, so there's not much horizontal space. Second, the images I want to use are banners, and would be too wide if placed side by side with the description. Also, while I'm at it, does anyone know how to remove the "Icon" column completely? I have no use for it because I only use text in the postbit.

-edit-

I found out the icon could be removed from the settings.

I am also getting this error:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare construct_depth_mark() in /home2/rwfforum/public_html/vBulletin/includes/adminfunctions.php on line 1899

Good I am glad to know I am not the only one, Although I am getting an error 500 page displayed by internet explorer.

This is what I was told by another person:
Please inform the creator of YAAS not to define construct_depth_mark within awards.php, and either surround it with a conditional that checks for the function existing, or just require_once adminfunctions.php - they should not be redefining standard vb functions even if its from the admin side, or stuff like this is bound to happen.

I hope this helps the Yaas creator fix our problem.

Using the recommend award system. When I hit submit I get

Message
There's some error when sending your award request. Please contact site's administrator for assistant.

It does however add the recommendation into the award requests page.

I receive this Fatal error on both of my 3.8.6 & 4.0.5 test boards.
When I installed vBCredits II (Lite) the 'awards.php' through an error. The vBCredits II (Lite) is conflicting with YAAS 4.0.2.

Problem:

When clicking/viewing Awards list (file 'awards.php') on 3.8.6:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare construct_depth_mark() (previously declared in /home/public_html/vbtest/awards.php:98) in /home/public_html/vbtest/includes/adminfunctions.php on line 1832

When clicking/viewing Awards list (file 'awards.php') on 4.0.5:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare construct_depth_mark() (previously declared in /home/public_html/new405/awards.php:98) in /home/public_html/new405/includes/adminfunctions.php on line 1832

Solution:
This is not something I can fix.

Please inform the creator of YAAS not to define construct_depth_mark within awards.php, and either surround it with a conditional that checks for the function existing, or just require_once adminfunctions.php - they should not be redefining standard vb functions even if its from the admin side, or stuff like this is bound to happen.

Don't worry if you dont know what Im talking about just copy and paste that to them.

See this above: Duplicate column name 'award_allowrecommend'

Basically you either just deleted the files on the server and disabled the mod OR it did not uninstall properly. If it's still listed in the product manager then select to uninstall it. If it's not then you need to backup your database and delete the old tables associated with the Awards modification.

The duplicate column errors, and issues with some tables not being removed after the mod has been uninstalled is fixed in the release I'm testing internally at the moment.

Might I make a brief suggestion?
In the installation instructions, modify
"UPLOAD the /upload directory to your forum root."

to

"UPLOAD the CONTENTS of the /upload directory to your forum root."

Otherwise, the product appears to install correctly, but the upload files aren't in the correct places.

I installed this mod, and it's exactly what I wanted. However, I do see 1 thing that could be changed. When I add the awards showcase to the postbit, it's posting between "Posts:" and "Blog entries:". In my opinion, it should post at the bottom of the postbit, even after the "Blog entries:". Just my thoughts on it. Other than that, it's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!

@Adders, do you have the Admin usergroup permissions changed so you can view it? A lot of times, you have to manually give yourself permission to view it.

@Delazar, do you have a Dragonbyte Tech product installed, such as "vBCredits II Deluxe" or "vBShop" because I myself get the same error. It's because of this:

It looks like YAAS copied a default vbulletin function out of adminfunctions.php, and vbcredits include adminfunctions instead of doing the same to whatever function(s) it needed.
Including adminfunctions is the correct method here, as it doesn't tie it up and cause problems with other mods (like YAAS is doing

If you don't...sorry. :P hope that clears some stuff...

Hello, It all seems to be going well except

My forum is contained within a pagewrap as seen in the Normal screenshot

After hitting the award link, the award.php blows out all the forum formatting as seen in the Award screenshot. I have not been able to find a way to fix this. I had the same problem with the "roster" mod, until it was updated on the site then it just started to work correctly.

Hi everybody! I've installed this mod in my new forum. I've used this mod in other forum and I would like to ask something. In my new forum I've the same medals but there are a lot of members to give awards that they have in the old forum. It would be possible to give a medal to more than 1 user at same time with an sql sentence? My intention is to restore the awards making an sql sentence that allows more than 1 user.

I'm looking for something like this:

give award A to user 1,2,3,4,73,12,722,356

It would be great. Thanks!

Just installed this mod on 4.0.7 and it works great.

I noticed one minor cosmetic flaw. When I view a user profile that has an award, the footer background looks a little strange. This doesn't happen to users without awards.

And if i try to edit the PM message or body i get.....

No Phrases Matched Your Query

EDIT...

PS: PHP Version Is 5.3.2, Have been reading similar errors in other software and think it my be related....

That indicates that you're running a really new version of PHP 5, which adds those warnings on older PHP 4 compatible code. Annoying, huh?

Add this to the top of your wp-config.php file, right after the first <?php line:
error_reporting(0);

That will turn off warnings and such.

Which is where it should be getting the images from but not working,the files are the correct directories as far as I can tell...what have I missed ???

I know where the award system settings are, but where are the automation settings located? I have that installed and uploaded correctly. The cron is also running correctly but nothing is happening. In the award settings there is an award automation option but when I click on it its just a blank white screen with the vbul cpanel options on the left.

Cypher, I have a bug report.

The automation system does not check if someone already had the award before the install of the plugin. So my awards based on post count were given again to the ones that had them.

So I had to remove them manually.

That is working as designed.

If you want to use the Automation System to issue awards, then you must remove the award manually from other users.

I am sorry Cypher, I meant that this would be an interesting option to have.

I use your product for a long time, and have lots of awards, so removing them would be hard.

I had to disable the automation product, because although I set it to "no" on the settings, it kept working and giving the awards again.

One doubt: once someone gets an award for number of posts, does it stop giving the same one to them?

The automation script is buggy to say the least. I have started on 100% recoding it, but I'm not sure of a time frame on when it will actually be completed.

Currently, I'm working on a few bug fixes and getting YAAS working again properly on 4.0.8; then I'll play with the automation system again.

I'll hopefully have it run more checks, etc, to where it checks if you've manually done the award previously, or not, etc.

From looking at the vBulletin bug tracker, it seems that Profile Tabs will be changing again in 4.0.9 due to bugs related to the profile tabs in 4.0.8.

So, instead of fixing this in 4.0.8, just for it to break in 4.0.9, I'm going to wait until vB 4.0.9 to release the YAAS Update.

Having an issue with recommending awards (vB 4.0.7 and YAAS 4.0.2.1).

When I recommend someone for an award I get an error message
"There's some error when sending your award request. Please contact site's administrator for assistant."

However in the award requests page - the recommendation is there for me to approve. So it has worked, but something has gone wrong somewhere...

Have gone through every usergroup I'm a member of and ensured that can recommend is set to Yes for all of them..

Would really like to sort this out so I can roll the mod out to my users.. Don't want to do that until it's sorted 'cos I'll just get inundated with PMs about it not working....
Any thoughts where to look? what to do?
TIA

EDIT - Fixed it myself.
I didn't want to PM, or email a user on submission, or use a thread or forum - so if nothing was set it decided there was a problem.
I made the following change to "recommend_award.php"
Find

if ($award_send > 0)
{
$errormessage = $vbphrase['award_request_completed'];
}

Before that add

if (empty($vbulletin->options['award_request_formemailaddress'])
&& empty($vbulletin->options['award_request_formpmname'])
&& ($vbulletin->options['award_request_formreplythreadid'] == 0)
&& ($vbulletin->options[award_request_formforumid] == 0))
{
$award_send += 10;
}

Works a charm :)
Now rolling it out fully to the forum users

You can fix profile tab bug easily by doing this:

Open Style Manager/CSS Templates/awards_css.css
add on the bottom:

#myawards-tab, #myawards-tab a:hover {
background-color:transparent;
border:medium none;
display:inline;
height:25px;
margin:0;
padding:0;
text-align:center;
}

a#myawards-tab:hover {
background:none repeat scroll 0 0 transparent;
}Go to Plugin Manager/Product : Yet Another Award System 4.0/

Edit YAAS in Member Profile - Profile ( member_build_blocks_start)

Find:
'hook_location' => 'profile_tabs',
REPLACE with:
'title' => $vbphrase['my_awards'],
'hook_location' => 'profile_tabs_last',

Save

Go again to Plugin Manager/Product : Yet Another Award System 4.0/

UNCHECK :

YAAS - Profile Tab (member_complete)

Save Active Status

(Customize profile) is a new feature added in version 4.0.8

When you use custom profile (change the profile colors), the awards tab will still the same, I mean the color of awards tab in the profile could not be changed. :)

You can change the name of it in ACP > Phrases. You will have search for Awards and select the entries you think need changing to Pins.

I doubt it is, the developer has been online. I expect we'll see something soon, now that it's unlikely the same things are going to be broken again so soon.

Confirmed working on vB 4.1.0 - I like it a lot since I just wanted a way to award people, without all the extra stuff with points and stuff!

However there are still a few issues, like points have a limit of 127 as when I put 1000 or anything it chnaged back to 127.

I need some help...

When I give an award to a user via modcp. I get the following error

Warning: mysql_insert_id() [function.mysql-insert-id]: A link to the server could not be established in [path]/modcp/award.php on line 381

and when I grant it via admincp. I get the following error

Warning: mysql_insert_id() [function.mysql-insert-id]: A link to the server could not be established in [path]/admincp/award.php on line 595

They are quite obviously related. I haven't had time to poke around the code, has anyone else encountered this?

This helps out alot with the look in the profile page. However, the tab still has some display issues:
(http://www.wingsofwar.org/vb4test/vb4forums/member.php?236-Flying-Officer-Kyte)
1. There is an "inner tab" showing inside the normal tab (mine is renamed "My Medals")
2. When you click on the My Medals tab, the high light color is wrong.

Is there a way to control what order the awards display in the postbit? I would like for them to display in the same order in the postbit as they do in the Awards List page.

I have my ordered from Highest to Lowest achievement for my site and would like for them to show that way from left to right in the postbit.

Now add at end of the template, add this and save

#myawards-tab, #myawards-tab a:hover {
background-color:transparent;
border:medium none;
display:inline;
height:25px;
margin:0;
padding:0;
text-align:center;
}

a#myawards-tab:hover {
background:none repeat scroll 0 0 transparent;

It is working just fine... it's not just in an easy to use package right now :( You need the product and the code from the last two pages to make it work on 4.1PL2... not much really.

I just figured out that the addon causes a little trouble after editing a post. (See attachment)
After editing the post there is some html code visible on the displayed profile on the forum. The only thing I've changed in the templates (apart from the codes of the last pages to fix some bugs) is that I've added some <br /> tags in there to get the medal and the other things down a bit.

Has anyone else that problem or knows a fix for it?
I'm running CMS v4.1.0 Patch Level 2.

Is there a way to display only certain award categories on the awards listing instead of all of them?
We have a huge amount of awards on our forums and the list is extremely long.
It would be nice to create seperate pages where selected categories can be displayed individually.

Or if you could at least jump to a certain category on the main medal listing.
Like what you can do with the link awards.php?#award123
Where 123 is the id number of the award you want to jump to.

Hey all, I'm curious, is there any way to give users the option to display the showcase in their postbit? Just so they can enable it/disable it if they don't like it.

I know it can be done through Profile Fields but I've been trying for a little while now without any luck, figured I'd ask.

Thanks. =]

I ran into a minor issue where automated awards are being awarded twice but in the award manager it only shows up once, I could remove the award that shows up but I have no way to remove the other without going through the database.

I´ve just installed the latest version and it works perfectly!

2 Questions:

1- I have medals for e.g. 100 Posts, and 1000 Posts... And i´ve done an automistation for this, but is it possible that a user gehts a medal for 100 posts AND 1000 posts (because the 100 post disappears if the user gets 1000 posts)

2- Is there a good source somewhere for medal pictures?

MeisterGigi

And now i have a request, is it possible to implant an option where you can award the same award multiple times to a user and replace the image with anohter file.

I've found two minor display bugs in the most recent version of YAAS. I'm running YAAS 4.0.2.1 and VB 4.1.2. I also noticed this on the boards of another member who posted a problem here so I know it isn't just me (in fact the screenshots are from the other members boards).

If you look at the two screens I've labeled the problems 1 & 2. Problem 1 only appears when a members profile page first displays or if you refresh the page, as soon as you select any tab on the member page problem 1 disappears (due to the call to tabViewPicker(this)). Problem 2 is always there.

The fix for problem 1 a small change to the YAAS - Profile Tab plugin that runs on the member_complete hook as follows::
if ($selected_tab == 'myawards')
{
$template_hook['profile_tabs_last'] .= '<dd class="selecteduserprof_module"><a id="myawards-tab" href="'.$vbulletin->input->fetch_relpath().'#myawards" onclick="return tabViewPicker(this);">'.$vbphrase[awards].'</a></dd>';
}
else
{
$template_hook['profile_tabs_last'] .= '<dd class="userprof_moduleinactive"><a id="
myawards-tab" href="'.$vbulletin->input->fetch_relpath().'#myawards" onclick="return tabViewPicker(this);">'.$vbphrase[awards].'</a></dd>';
}

I have not yet been able to determine where the code that generates problem 2 comes from.

Both bugs are on the default skin with no alterations on my boards.

This is because the mod was written for a 4.0.2 board and barely anything above, vb changed the way the tabs are displayed and called and this is why the mod breaks as the original php was using 4.0.2 syntax.

Your 2nd problem will only be solved when the coder updates the mod for the latest version of vb.

Here's a fix that fixes both issues:

1) Disable/delete the YAAS - Profile Tab Plugin that is attached to the member_complete hook (in other words my previous fix for problem 1 is not required anymore). If this isn't done you will get two Awards tabs on profile pages.

2) Make the following edits (all text in blue needs to be added) to the YAAS in Member Profile - Profile plugin that is attached to the member_build_blocks_start hook:

$blocklist['myawards'] = array(
'class' => 'MyAwards',
'title' => $vbphrase['awards'],
'options' => array(
'pagenumber' => $vbulletin->GPC['pagenumber']
),
'hook_location' => 'profile_tabs_last',
'wrap' => false

I may have missed it, but is there a way to retrospectrively add awards to users?
e.g. post count awards, I have users that have posted 5000 times, but they haven't got the awards for the lower post counts...

Other than manually adding them to all the users, is there an automated way to add them?

Also, as a feature request - would it be possible to add awards per usergroup?

EDIT: -

I'm trying to edit the text of the PM that is sent out by YAAS... specifically to edit the links
This is the PM I recieved earlier

[IMG]http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm223/The_Rascal/award_pm.png

I login into my ACP>Awards System>System settings
and click on the 'here' and 'here' links in the PM section

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2011/03/31.png

The first one (body) is trying to link to

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2011/03/32.png

whilst the second (subject) is linking to

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2011/03/33.png

clicking either gives me this error

OK here's an additional fix, that gets rid of the two deprecation messages and appears to fix visitor messages being messed up if awards are active on member pages.

Again in the YAAS in Member Profile - Profile plugin attached to the member_build_blocks_start hook make the following deletions:
global $vbulletin;
require_once(DIR . '/includes/class_bbcode.php');
$bbcode_parser =& new vB_BbCodeParser($vbulletin, fetch_tag_list());

and

function prepare_output($id = '', $options = array())
{
global $show, $vbphrase, $stylevar, $vbcollapse, $bgclass, $vbulletin;

require_once(DIR . '/includes/class_bbcode.php');
$bbcode_parser =& new vB_BbCodeParser($this->registry, fetch_tag_list());

A great addition (as always). In the 3.6 version I'm just migrating from I had our simple 2 award requests added as entries on the member drop-down and used a conditional statement so that they didn't show if the user viewing the drop-down didn't have permission to actually give awards.

I can't see how to duplicate that functionality in this version?

Cheers

Resolved the issue the long way around by hard coding usergroup access permissions in the drop down menu - will be a pain to maintain when there are already inbuilt user permissions for request award but at least it works this way.

The next step of that process is now to pre-fill the user name of the nominated person - shouldn't be too difficult given that the form request is done from the user options drop down.

I have everything working Ok on my vB 4.1.1. MOTM for that!

Just one question: I use the automation too. I will like to see the automation on days registered to be also connected with an minimum amount of posts.
I've made an award for 5years of registration. Did not even think about, what would happend. You get it? Yeah, 1200 awards were made for every user, who is registered, even the ones with only one post.
Like this, the weight of an award is going to hell. So i did cancel all that awards...
Still the idea of an award for 5years is nice... Would you, please, think about this one?

And, then i find a big bug. When i click on "delete" of that one automation task, al my automation task's dissapeared. I have to create them all again.

But anyway, i really like this one!

Hi Cyp.

It means what it says it means, you're trying to add a column to the table that already exists.

when this mod will be updated? :(

My footer is misplaced and I think the cause is a bad css formatting, please see attachment

vbulletin Version 4.1.1

I have solved this

just remove the <br /> code in memberinfo_block_myawards template

I am still looking for a fix with the disappearance of the backgrounds. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. Anyone without a medal has the custom background but once a member receives a medal/award the background disappears.

Clutching at straws...I had the 3.x version installed which I removed prior to upgrading to 4.
I want to add it back but I'm currently getting SQL errors emailed to me. Can anyone give me some clues as to how I sort them out? I asked on vB.com but because its a mod they won't help.
Its being triggered by a google bot so I don't know why its happening.
The error is
Invalid SQL:

SELECT u.userid, u.username, au.award_id
FROM vb_award_user AS au
LEFT JOIN vb_user AS u ON (u.userid = au.userid)
WHERE au.award_id = 1
GROUP BY u.userid, u.username, au.award_id
ORDER BY u.userid;

MySQL Error : Table 'babydre_bumples2.vb_award_user' doesn't exist
Error Number : 1146

If I add the updated mod back will it affect the error or the error affect the install?

Thanks!

Hi. I'm sorry if someone already asked this and received a solution. Going through 49 pages isn't my cup of tea here (especially if you have 15 users complaining to you and want a solution A.S.A.P!).

For our awards system, we have things placed in the legacy postbit. And it works, for some browsers. It was messing up for Chrome, but a user updated their browser and it went back to normal. There have been no complaints on Firefox but a plethora on Internet Explorer and Opera. Both browsers are updated to the latest version available. I have provided a screenshot of the issue (linked below). As you can tell, it shouldn't be like that - and isn't for a lot of people. It's quite annoying, though, so we would like it fixed as soon as it can possibly be fixed. ^^

I've installed this and it's working fine except for one problem. In the users profile, the tab has no background when it's inactive. Like this...
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2011/04/5.jpg

And when it is clicked/active, it shows up like this...
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2011/04/6.jpg

Does anybody know how I can fix this?

Thanks

Thanks Sadiq6210,

This fixed the crazy tab without background, and the displaced footer issues. Hadn't noticed any other (unwanted) changes.:D

Kudos. :up:

Update:Found a problem: If there's an Avatar for the poster, the awards are displayed to the the right of the award, and not below.

If there's no Avatar, the awards are displayed in a more pleasing setting.

Is there a way to get the Awards showcase to show below the avatar, in the postion it's displayed if there's no Avatar?

http://forums.scifi-nexus.com/award_issue.png

Please accept my sincere thanks for your hard work. would you have any suggestions to fix this issue?

Update: Yet Again

Whoops, Nevermind.

Where do you want awards showcase to appear in postbit? userinfo_right (legacy postbit) userinfo_right_after_posts (horizontal postbit)
Postbit: Style 1 (default)

I still have an issue when I add a medal to a users profile, their custom background image disappears. This has been ongoing for more than a month.
