Gambling is working very bad for me (v 4.1.1). When you bet, for example 10 points, in "match the number", it decreases you like 30 when you loose!, and if you win it does not increase your points at all. Same happens with Higher Card.
But then, AFTER a while, that it refreshes, you get I think the correct amount of points, its really confusing. I Attached some images.

Another thing. (v 4.1.1)

When you create a Custom Gift, and then sell it, you dont get any points. And the buyer of your gift does not loose any points. Its like if you trade for nothing. (btw, you loose points by creating a Gift).

It would be nice to add something so you can upload your own pictures to use when creating gifts! and not just choosing them from a preseted list.

First off I'd like to say that the Point Market has been a live for 1 year. Happy birthday Market :)



Anyways, as many of the people using the Market know, I am student teaching, which I've been doing since the 2nd of January and my free time is incredibly limited until May where I can return to full blown normal programming production. I've tried to keep up with complaints, issues, bugs, and suggestions. After some thought I decided this weekend would be best to release 3.1.0 as an Alpha release.

There are a few things that users need to know. I discovered this weekend when I was getting ready to release the Alpha that I was missing a more updated version of 3.1.0 that somehow got deleted on my thumb drive. It was only about a week of coding but there were a few bug fixes that I see missing as well as some Market Items that are incomplete. Fortunately, I had a backup and only lost about a week's worth. Therefore, the following Market items are incomplete that I know of (check back as this might get updated).

Please disable the Forum Market Items: Coupon Access, Create Smiley Category, Upload Smiley, Upload Avatar. None of those will work.

I am going to promise users that I am going to release Alpha 2, next Sunday, which will be a 100% bug release. My goal is going to be to fix the bugs in 3.0.1 that were still there or have shown up since I last worked on the Market as well as any really ugly things found in the Alpha release. This is what I promise to my market users and it's the best I can do. I'm hoping to do small intermediate releases once a week until this becomes completely stable. Until then the choice to upgrade is to the users.

By any chance, did you fix the bug where user title get reset back to default vbulletin user title? Most of the time, I fixed this by manually running the User Title Update inside the point market system maintenance section.

Ah I remember this glitch. It is associated w vb versions that are 4.0.8 and above I believe. I don't remember off hand on how I fixed it but it's related to a member plugin. When I go home today let me take a look and see what the fix was as this was something I lost on the deletion of 3.1. In the meantime you can always just disable the plugins.

I can disable the points market system and the problem does go away, but I am going to keep it running as only my logged in members have permissions to even view the member profile pages anyway, so the common public doesnt see the errors. Anyway I have already given my members the heads up about the errors on their profile pages, and its no big deal pending a fix. Especially since you have seen this before, relieves me, and I can wait for you at your convenience.

Okay I knew I had fixed this one before :)

Anyways, the problem is associated with the character ' on the market_408 related templates to display what purchases the user has done. I've gone ahead and removed the extra characters of ' in both templates and updated the zip.

Any person who hasn't downloaded the Alpha version will automatically get the updated fix when they download.

For those of you who already downloaded the Alpha version and are suffering from the member profile bug. To fix this bug, please redownload the alpha version zip (it's been updated) and just reimport the pointmarket product file. Select YES to overwrite everything and it should automatically update the two templates that were causing the bug. Clear your cache and review a user's profile and it should fix it. If not let me know and I'll take a glance but I've tested this on a few sites and the problem was fixed :)

However i have asked this, and can you please tell me, is there any chance to add a timer on the items, for example someone purchases the Custom Title, or any store item, and it automaticly expires after lets say 1 month ? Their is already this feature:
Expiration Days
Please enter the amount of days you would like this purchase to be active. You must visit the maintenance section to rerun all current expirations on existing purchases.

I believe but it's untested.

What I am kind of recommending for people to do is do an install if you have a patient user database and just kind of test things around and play with it. Any feature that ends up not working you can always temporarily disable or any market item working you can do the same. Plus, its good you guys get familiar with the full power of the 3.1x version which was entirely scripted based off of a feedback from you guys.

Like I said, I am going to release a very nice Alpha 2 bug fix for this Sunday. Any existing bugs that were in 3.0.1 that are in 3.1.0 should be reported and if someone could make a nice list so I can wipe them out for a sunday maintenance release will be appreciated. I promise to try and fix any bug I see reported by this Sunday so at least you guys have a pretty decently stable Alpha version working that you can use.

I have some exciting news related to Alpha 2 that is due this Sunday. Many of you users have reported frustrations with users purchasing a custom user title or having a custom purchased user title and then updating it the regular way in the user profile options. Of course the Market ends up resetting this to whatever the user purchased before hand.

I have applied a fix in Alpha 2 that when a user goes to their user profile edit options and changes their user title, any existing market purchases relditngated to a custom user title (either purchased by the user OR purchased by someone else for the user) will automatically be updated and set as expired.

This fix will be released in Alpha 2 on sunday. I still have not come up with a fix for the Admin CP editing of a user title and then it being reset by Market to a purchase. However, this massive annoying bug is at least fixed on the user side :)

Hmm... there is no option to pay for thread creation permissions although I don't think it'd be that difficult of a forum item to script.

I don't know if I am missing it...I am sure I am because I could have sworn I saw an option for it before when I first started messing with the Market system, but where can I enable refunds? Before I upgraded to Alpha there were some items that were refundable and some that weren't and I went in search to find out how to make the rest refundable. Now that I have upgraded none of the times are refundable and I still can't find where to change this option. I am probably just overlooking it.

It's still there in the Admin CP :)

See how it now says Refundable as a column and then an image? The one icon means it is refundable and the other means it currently is not refundable. You can also now edit the item and choose whether to allow for refunds for that forum market item in the Admin CP. Just one of many beefed up features with 3.1.0 giving you more Administrative control over your forum items :)

It's not displaying anywhere, i think its not coded, or the code is missing for it. I bought a gift for myself, it give the field in the member profile where the gift should be displayed, but it doesnt appear in that field at all. So no, it doesnt display in either postbi or member profile. Thanks again dude...

With that being said please still remember it is an alpha and therefor the amount if can be tested is somewhat still limited due to many people choosing not to upgrade. I hope to have a total of four alpha releases fixing all bug related issues from 3.0.1 as well as many major hickups in the 3.1x series (most have already been found and fixed). Upon completing, I will return to finish any unfinished areas in the 3.1x series in beta form during the month of March.

Find:

If you get a refund and colors don't revert then that is a glitch I have to fix. And yes after an expiration all colors r to go back to default.

Thanks again TM, this is realy awesome, the support the updates, everything. The gifts are displaying now, in member profile postbit, but when you click on the "Market" tab in member profile, the gifts aren't displayed there, it shows a broken image, im sure, its a minor fix.

That is a beyond weird error. Did you have a partially uninstallation go bad or timeout? My advise would be to reinstall and then uninstall cause there is no way you should receive that error unless you had some kinda freakish uninstallation occur.

verified the thread color expiry worked, and finally removed the thread color.

Aramist, try setting the expire days for the glow in the acp, set it for one day, and buy it again.

Doing this allowed the expiry to remove my problematic thread colors.

Might work for your problem too.

Thats odd the only bug I found related to the maintenance section was a bad phrase when it completed it was talking about custom user titles or something like that which I fixed. Can anyone else duplicate this bug?

And yes the cron script for expired items only runs once a day in the morning. Maybe I'll update it to run twice a day to help kill the overlap that occurs

I have had the looping problem when doing the acp maintenance for thread items,... last one on the maintenance page I believe.

It just keeps refreshing for the first 50 in the list, and i did the math for my site to see if it refreshed more times than threads or members, and yes, it just keeps going.

This is probably the first time you have ever seen me actually make a release and do it a day early. :)

However, this is the official post for Alpha 3, which is now released. Alpha 3 has 15 total bug fixes, many of which were found on this website. I should note that two very long lasting bugs related to the point donation from member to member and the gambling center issues with calculating the points to be deducted have been corrected to the best of my knowledge. In addition, there were many other important bug fixed that I've applied for this Alpha. Therefore, I am recommending anyone who has decided to take part in the Alpha series immediately upgrades to alpha 3. It is far more stable then the previous 2 alphas and we are one step closer to a beta stage.


So what's next? Well my goal was to have four stages of alpha testing before I return to complete any missing functionality in 3.1 that was lost. The only way I can do this is if you find any remaining bugs/issues for me to correct. I am asking those who use this alpha series to go ahead and play with coupons, test the functionality all over the place on the admin cp, and explore the feature changes finally to see what all else is broken. I want to knock this alpha series off with the next fix and need your help.

I am scheduling Alpha 4 (hopefully the last) to be released next Sunday the 28th.

Also, I found a pretty moderate bug that was missed for the first 3 alphas that I consider important related to expirations. You can wait for the next alpha or you can do the fix yourself.

If you want to do the fix, open pointmarket/market_purchase.php

FIND

$expire = ($getitem[expire]*86400)+time();

Change to

$expire = ($itembuy[expire]*86400)+time();

I was referencing the wrong array. This bug caused any purchases to automatically be marked as expired within 24 hours.

Are you sure you just didn't edit the custom gift category names? Check market_gifts_bit template and revert it back to default and also check your custom gifts section and view the categories to see if it was edited there

First of all I have purchased coupon access under market features.
While creation of the coupon, Active is enabled. Private says Display Coupons
Section under Point Market Table, User Table and Custom Table are left blank and default except in Custom Table usergroup says Administrators
In step 4 I have set 100 percent in respective fields.

Still when I click on Coupon Listings, it does not show me anything!

I have created another coupon for registered users, but the listings show blank page :(

Hmm... The Forum Items, Store Items, and Lottery are all scripted a bit differently on how it handles or processes coupons. So it's possible that you found a glitch related to lottery coupons that won't exist in the other two. I'll look into it for Alpha 4 on why it's not working correctly.

DS MrSinster is correct you need to edit the market_colors.css template and remove the border. Alternatively you could make the border css color a different color.

I think a great idea for a market item is something I have seen on some forums.

A member can buy with points the ability to add a mini-profile background color or upload a background image for the mini-profile.

I use the legacy mini-profile, and would love to let members choose a color for the mini-profile block, or even to upload or use a background image from their attachment library, to uniquely enhance their personal representation in posts.

Of course this would also mean that a point item would be needed that would allow the member to buy a different mini-profile text color for the little specificas that are in mini-profiles.

Just an idea for the future.

Over the past 4 weeks there has been about 40 bugs fixed that were reported. I thank everyone for being patient during the Alpha 4 series on dealing with the bugs and the unfinished areas of the Market 3.1x series.

So now the big post. I believe the bugs found that were mostly existing from 3.0.1 and the inital features on 3.1.0 have been fixed or what is left is rather minimal. There are still a few unfinished sections related to the 3.1x series that need scripted such as the new market items or the coupon listing area and a few tweaks. Therefore, I am announcing that the next release will be Beta 1, which is scheduled for Sunday March 13. The reason I need the two weeks is to do the additional scripting needed as well as handle any feature changes/tweaks that you posters might have. Beta 1 should finally have 3.1.0 in it's finished look & feel with the exception of probably some unfinished bug fixes. Once I release it I'll continue to do my weekly Sunday updates to do bug fixes on whatever is found. I thank everyone for their continued support in trying to make this the best store possible!

I just referenced the wrong filename in the root/market.php when I was chopping up market.php for the 3.1x series. This has been fixed with Beta 1.

Jacob your going to have to reword what you mean as I am very lost on what you are trying to say.

Are you talking about the Admin CP or the actual market on the forums?
If you are talking about the Admin CP, are you talking about Gifts or Custom Gifts?
What do you mean by reordering gifts? There is no field to reorder gifts in the Admin CP?

Your going to have to really explain it better as I'm flat out lost on what section you are, what error your getting, and make sure that the section is how I have it worded on the market as it almost sounds like your getting the store section and gifts sections confused.

Umm... go edit your Gifts item and see if their is an image location entered, it should be something like:

Possible reason for the error:

The variable which holds the minimum amount in phrase $vbphrase[market_error_bank_3] is wrong.

I did a check:

if ($amount < $minimum_deposit) {
$error = 3; // Amount is less then minimum deposit
}
$amount is correct.
$minimum_deposit is correct too (in my example it was 10.95.

The pointmarket_expire bug I already found and fixed. It was just a missing bracket I did by accident before releasing Alpha 4.

I'll look into the other reported little sql bugs, they shouldn't be that difficult to correct.

The concept of coupons is for allowing additional discounts for users for certain market items that are based off a set criteria that the administrator decides. So for example, if a user was a member of a certain primary usergroup they might get an additional discount of 25% off an item.

Beta 1 comes out this Sunday as I've mentioned several times. In it I'll have all market items fully functional. It doesn't look like I am going to have time to script for the Market Store the ability to purchase items and download them. I also won't get to the coupon listings in this release. Those will come out in a later beta phase.

Tried to clear user title color, set to one day expire, ran all maintenance, color will not expire. Will check again tomorrow and report back to see if cron reset it.

Using the username color/glow/strikethru items purchased,... they work but they also insert html code into the html alt for the avatar image and a couple of other places.

Check on Beta 1 if you can reduplicate these bugs. I tried on a beta 1 copy that I'm about to release and couldn't reproduce either. Also make sure your templates AND phrases are the most up to date and don't contain any custom edits by you.

This is the official 3.1.0 Beta 1 Release Information:



The beta 1 series has now begun. I have resumed scripting needs to be completed features for the 3.1x series. In this release, all market items should now work with the exception of the vbExperience market item. Also when purchasing the coupon listings, the coupon listing page hasn't been scripted. However, this should not effect the ability to create and use coupons for your forums so users may still use coupons if you have them enabled.

Also, I still haven't scripted the market store downloadable purchase item yet. Those are coming within the next beta or so version.

Lastly, in this release, the ability to upload has been added so make sure you Chmod /customavatars/ and /images/smilies/ to 777 for uploading permissions.


There are several bug fixes in this release. I'm still awaiting to hear on some other bugs so if you feel like you had a bug in Alpha 4, go ahead and test it with the Beta series and if the bug is still not fixed, please rereport it but make sure to give as much detailed information as possible such as what exact page you were viewing, etc.

I am using your product and I can’t seem to figure out the primary usergroup stuff.

The issue is I have 4 paid usergroups. Your store allows me to put in one price for a primary usergroup purchase but doesn’t allow me to specify what they get after they purchase.

The option should include a primary usergroup purchase and a selection to pick a usergroup to upgrade them to once they complete the purchase.

Primary usergroup: 5000
Usergroup to upgrade to: Platinum or Exclusive etc. It should pull from the usergroups you have setup in the forum already.

Also when I try to purchase the item its not deducting from my points.
I have a registered user account with 50,000 points.
I setup the primary usergroup option at a cost of 10,000 points. It says the item was purchased successfully but it doesn’t deduct the points from the overall balance as well as it doesn’t upgrade the user to another upgroup.

Is this something that’s built in already and I’m just missing it?

I am willing to pay to have this fixed on my system so please PM me.

Kesandral, check your pms. One of those was a bug and the other wasn't. I explained in the message.

DCG, your right the way I have it setup now doesn't let you add more then 2 primary usergroups total. I'll tell you what, I will fix this for the next release and make it so you can choose which usergroup they go to for an infinite amount of times. :)

As for why it's not charging the user, link me to the exact purchase item page that you are looking at that never charges. I'll be able to tell by the id number within the link if this is a bug and where it's at.

I don't know what you mean, can you please explain better and what part or section of the market you are talking about? Theres like 4 or 5 major sections within the Market that by their own right, are independent hacks.

Those changes were already applied to the next Beta I just forgot to mention it in this thread. ;)

As for the number rows report, I believe the vBulletin syntax actually is preferred to use $db->num_rows over $vbulletin->db->num_rows; however, I've never been completely positive on that.

Is there any way to access a log of who purchased points with real cash via paypal? The problem I see is, someone makes a purchase with real cash and then says that they didn't get the credits, and right now I can't find anywhere at can show me if they did or not.

The transactions are stored but for whatever reason I didn't script a way to see them. I'll be sure to rectify this and make it so there is a history log for you to view as an Administrator in the near future!

Also, in the next beta due this Sunday I've scripted it so you can now control which usergroup each primary/secondary usergroup change is. This was based off of requests in this thread so you can theoretically now make an unlimited number of change usergroup forum items and each item can have a different usergroup if you like.

I have a few issues though:

1: Users cannot purchase gifts created by other users in the gift market, it returns a blank screen when tried.

2: Extra zeros get added to gift prices such as 500 being 500.00000

no, I did no customization templates pointmarket just update it and nothing else, just that the date goes well and just not shown as it as the screenshot. for the rest works fine

The Refund Button is not working under Firefox (4) in User Title Strike. Only works in IE.

Maybe the people that are experiencing this problem have installed 3.1 series cleanly. I've been using this mod since the 1st version, so I think that there is a mistake writting the permissions in the database. I've the permissions configured before upgrading 3.X series.

Maybe if you uninstall the mod and install the previous version for set the permissions, and then upgrade to B1 you can get it work.

Anyway TheMayhem will release a fix soon.

Okay this is the official release post for Beta 2.

Beta 2 finishes two incomplete items with the vBExperience market item addition working and the ability to change each primary usergroup you create and secondary. You need to go edit your usergroup market items after doing this upgrade to correctly select the right usergroup.

In addition, there are about a half a dozen bug fixes. Beta 2 really is a lot more stable as the bug reports have really slowed down in the recent weeks and I recommend it to everyone who has been holding off on upgrading in a while or installing it. Below is the bug fix:

** Banking deposit minimum error is showing min. widthdrawel instead of deposit error
** Security flaw found with market_purchase.php by using poor sanitzation
** market_store_purchase.php is causing a mysqli_result as array error because of $cid
** Custom Gifts available is showing 5 decimals instead of what the user has selected
** Custom gift purchase producing a file does not exist error
** Infinite loop occurring on User Title reset after multiple pages
** Refund button not working on Firefox 4

I very much hope everyone enjoys the release. I started working on the coupon listings page; however, it is still incomplete. I am going to get that finished for Beta 3 and maybe the store download an item feature or screenshot section. I hope everyone continues to support this massive store addon that I have created. Remember, all of your feedback and support help shapes how it is scripted and what is added. :)

Another problem cropped up.

User created gifts can be purchased but when they are, a random gift item (not the one listed) appears on the customer's gift box.

Also i don't think points are being given to users that are selling gifts.

really really thanks for this feature =)

everything look working fine, expect the Item's that we have to put a username when we buy, we get a message " No users were found with that username. ", of course the username we put was right, but I don't know why this happen.

and yes I notice in the " Secondary Usergroup Change " Items, when we buy them our username color change to the color of the group we buy, but since it's just a secondary usergroup it shouldn't change the color of the primary usergroup, I hope you fix it ^^"

anther thing is the discount in the market, if a user have 3 usergroup, the market will detect the lowest discount in the usergroup and choose it, I hope you make the market detect the highest discount in usergroup instead.
