How do I get it to work on the CMS too? Is it a bug that when I go into my user's control panel, the left sidebar still uses the default style, and the right side of the page displays no options?

As Hostboard said - closest to my original style by far! Thanks.
That said - if you have a look here (http://www.gotrage.net/), I've got the "first time..." notice showing in YELLOW [original theme color?] and the left/right sidebars also appear to be in their original colors.
I've tried downloading and re-installing the style, but it doesn't appear to have done anything for me...
Ideas?

oo..also, the edit box on the Article add comment editor...
The black text on grey background is a bit hard to read, as are the black foreground icons on the grey background...
If you can point me in the spot to edit them I'll take a crack at it, but otherwise if you could fix it, it'd be awesome :)
Thanks again!

They'res a problem with private messages, the side bar in the private messages area is default color, as well the PM list is either colored to blend in with the background by accident, i tried reinstalling, i even tried at your forums.

To make the style work for the CMS, you have to click the edit (pencil) button next on the main page (content.php) and manually set the style choice.
The CMS styling isn't very intuitive. (many people have this problem)

I have just tested this on a demo forum and I don't get any odd occurrences when creating a new thread.
Try downloading the update and reinstalling updated style. A stylevars edit may have caused this.

If that's the case, it could be what you suggested or just a browser error.

If you have any other errors, please let me know.

Yep - same here, plus on post reply or new thread the Font icons etc are almost impossible to see as their on a dark background. Anyway of changing both these issues?
Otherwise not a bad style at all :)

This is my favorite style to date! Very Nice.
There is a difference how the text entry box in Internet Explore displays compared to Google Chrome. IE7 text background is white and text is white while Chrome displays correctly with dark text background and white text. :erm:

Is there a way to change the color of the actual article, or put a background image on it? For example in the CMS, Front page, the article inherits the site background. Are we able to put it as a different colour? I can't find that variable.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will make a new set of buttons shortly.
You might want to update in the stylevars:
- profile_content_friends_list_hover (currently I quickly set this to #333333 or rgb(51, 51, 51))
- navbar_popup_link_background (aka "Navigation Bar Popup Body Link Background Color")
Noticed that those 2 on the least are showing a white background when popping or hoovering ;).
As for the white background in the wysiwyg on IE, seems like a flaw in the javascript I guess, because if you switch from wysiwyg to normal then the problem is solved. Though the annoyance are the inputs of title and tags, black text in a dark-gray field. kinda hard to read and tested on 2 different monitors.

The pencil is shown when you hover over the first article title as an administrator. This allows you to edit the first article on the first page.
Is there anyway to change the text color from light blue to something else?
This would require a separate template release. I will try a silver/white font color instead of light blue. If you have any preferences, please let me know.

I'm just to used to seek out the problems and find what's the correct 'style-name' or solve. The reason I mentioned those two after 10 minutes of searching the white backgrounds with white texts before it :o. But I always keep the perfect solution for the designer, he/she always knows which colors are the best for the template ;)

I have to agree with you, the text in the edit boxes is almost unusable, and since its a forum with alot of typing, my users have given this theme a thumbs down. I like the theme alot myself, and hope to see either this issue resolved or instuctions on how to adjust the colors ourselves.
The edit box in the standard theme is fine. For some reason in FireFox, its white text on grey, unless you click out of the box, then the text becomes black, until you click back into the box. In IE its always black. I originally thought, well I will just change the background of the edit box to white, but this then kills the firefox users.
I think if you just set the input text to be white, we'd be golden.
and yeah, the wysiwyg is white text on white background making it unusable.
Still I want to say, this is a great start for a theme and I really enjoy it. Thanks for all your hard work.

I believe the setting you are looking for is "inherited" on the style selection after clicking the pencil.

I appreciate your support. However, the white background is entirely different depending upon browser capabilities and various other factors.
The reason is because the stylevars are incomplete. vBulletin has not yet released a version where stylevars can edit the background. In the next update i will do what i can to edit the css templates so the backgrounds appear to be the same color across all browsers.
For now, some users report that changing the text editor mode may solve the problem.

vBulletin has implemented a stylevars system that makes css depreciated. That being said, the stylevars system is incomplete so it is very difficult to make necessary changes.

The skin should not affect widgets and avatars. Try disabling, then re enabling it. If it doesn't work, try installing another skin to see if it is indeed the skin's doing.

We haven't done any image slicing yet for the forums because vBulletin 4 is not in the stage where it can actively support such features.

The side should be a background image that spans the entire board. Did you happen to leave out some to the images or make any stylevars edits? If you didn't try reuploading all of the images into "*your forum url*/cpstyles/darkvision".

I recall your post on page 2. I would like to remind you (for the sake of other authors on vBulletin.com), constructive criticism is appreciated. Please state why you have a problem with a particular skin instead of just being blatantly negative.
This template is crap. There are huge design flaws all over this......IMO.
If your looking to change the light blue, the font color is: 76e4fb. You can either search for it in the stylevars yourself, or wait until we release this skin in white/silver font.
How can you change the size of the icon

There is a specific stylevars named something along the lines of icon size. Try searching size and you should find it. The size is in terms of px.

I believe you looking for the stylevars forumicon_size which is currently set at 16 px. Just adjust that to your preferences.

Thanks Impulse for the great skin! My favorite!
I noticed that alot of people complained about the white text edit background/light gray text on the post thread forum in IE, but looks fine in FF. I think alot of people missed the comment about clicking on the A/A icon on the form to show the "correct" background color.
Wouldn't this be a Vbulletin bug rather than something that can be changed in the stylevars?
I love the template, but I can't really use until it's corrected as most won't know, or don't bother to click on the A/A button
Thank you!

Yes, we intend to fix the text edit problem in the next release (this week). vBulletin has not added this to the stylevars so we will have to make necessary css adjustments.
Please stay tuned for updates or mark as installed and we will send you an update once it is available.

Then you can change the path to the image in your StyleVar

I uploaded the new Darkvision. The only problem I previously had was the background on the post and reply form (showed white in IE), but I changed that myself.
I added a .wysiwyg style in the css file.
I overwrote the original file and this seems to be correct.
One thing I was surprised I didn't see changed was the background on the categories.
Figured this would have been changed to a darker color.
Still my favorite skin so far though!!!!

Very nice style!
Is it possible to make the Login-Area and the Editor-Area brighter?
Login-Area:
It's not possible for users to see where they have to click for Loginname and Password and the inputfontcolor seems to be the same like the backgroundcolor.
Editor-Area:
It's nearly impossible to see the Editor-Icons (Bold, Italic, ...) because the Backcolor is too dark.
Sorry for my bad english. I hope you understand what I mean.

For those who are commenting about the black text on a dark background,
I changed my Wysiwyg_textbody_background stylevar from #25292c to #65696c.
That at least makes the Edit icons a bit easier to see.
And, for creating/viewing a poll, I changed the Blockbody_Background from #1b1b1b to #3b3b3b.
Again, it made the creation of a poll, easier to see.
These changes might also make your login screen easier too.
But, I am in agreement with IamSpookysDaddy....Viewing the poll results is fundamentally offwhite text on a white background.
I am searching and trying different Stylevars, but can't seem to come up with the trick.

The problem is that the stylevars are incomplete. You won't find any stylevars for that. Instead the css must be edited.

I once again:
Here, too, would need to be improved, if you click outside the text box, then the input text is black.
My question is:
Could mitbeinbeziehen these errors on the next update.
Thanks for the reply
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ich schon wieder:
Auch hier müsste nach gebessert werden, wenn man außerhalb vom Textfeld klickt dann ist der Eingabetext schwarz.
Meine Frage dazu:
Könnte man diese Fehler beim nächsten Update mitbeinbeziehen.
Danke für die Antwort

Excellent skins!
I have downloaded and installed the origional one (with blue lettering) and now I uploaded the white version. It also works great, but both folders are called darkvision. This caused me a little confusion/panic when it started asking if it should overwrite files, lol.
It might be a little more "noob friendly" to have the folders uniquely named, it would also be easier if/when someone wants to remove one of the skins but not the other.
Just a little suggestion on an otherwise great skin!
Also just noticed...with it being in the same folder it uses the same image for the banner.jpg...It looks fine in my case but I'm sure it would be better if you could define a different banner for each.

Impulse,
thanks for your reply regarding the "viewing of Poll Results".
I have searched all the CSS files high and low for something called "pollresultsblock"
(that seems to be what this style/class is called, when I look at the page source).
But I can't find it anywhere.
Any chance you could point me in the right direction, please ?
Thanks

Impulse,
OK... nevermind.... I was able to solve it myself.
First, the CSS is not in any .CSS file anywhere.
Actually it is within a Template.
The Template is called poll.css.
So, let's Edit some of those settings.......
1. I want the border of the results box to be a little darker.
So I change the border from #c4c4c4 to #949494
From this
#pollresults {
border: 1px solid #c4c4c4;
padding: {vb:stylevar padding};
background: #f3f3f3;
margin: 0 auto;
margin-top: {vb:stylevar padding};
clear:both;
float: {vb:stylevar left};
width: 98%;
}
to this
#pollresults {
border: 1px solid #949494;
padding: {vb:stylevar padding};
background: #f3f3f3;
margin: 0 auto;
margin-top: {vb:stylevar padding};
clear:both;
float: {vb:stylevar left};
width: 98%;
}
2. Now I want the results text to be darker for the top (header) of the results (which shows the total votes).
I change the pollinfo.blockhead.totalvotes color from
"color: {vb:stylevar body_color};" to "color:black;"
From this
#pollinfo .blockhead .totalvotes {
color: {vb:stylevar body_color};
font-size: {vb:stylevar font.fontSize}px;
display: inline-block;
margin-top: {vb:math {vb:math {vb:stylevar font.fontSize}*1.5}-{vb:stylevar font.fontSize}}px;
font-weight:bold;
}
to this
#pollinfo .blockhead .totalvotes {
color:black;
/* color: {vb:stylevar body_color}; */
font-size: {vb:stylevar font.fontSize}px;
display: inline-block;
margin-top: {vb:math {vb:math {vb:stylevar font.fontSize}*1.5}-{vb:stylevar font.fontSize}}px;
font-weight:bold;
}
3. Now I want to change the color of the text for the poll choices/descriptions.
I changed it from having no color defined, to having "color:black;" by
adding the "color:black;" line.
From this
#pollresults li {
width: 100%;
position: relative;
min-height: 2em;
float: {vb:stylevar left};
}
to this
#pollresults li {
width: 100%;
color:black;
position: relative;
min-height: 2em;
float: {vb:stylevar left};
}
4. Now I want to change the color of the text which shows the number of votes per
poll choice/description.
I changed it from having no color defined, to having "color:black;" by
adding the "color:black;" line.
From this
#pollresults li .votes .pollbarwrapper .numvotes {
background-color:white;
padding:0.1em 0.2em;
display: block;
float: {vb:stylevar left};
clear: {vb:stylevar right};
}
to this
#pollresults li .votes .pollbarwrapper .numvotes {
background-color:white;
color:black;
padding:0.1em 0.2em;
display: block;
float: {vb:stylevar left};
clear: {vb:stylevar right};
}
5. And I want to change the text color of the percentage for each poll choice/description.
I changed it from having no color defined, to having "color:black;" by
adding the "color:black;" line.
From this
#pollresults li .percentvotes {
position: absolute;
{vb:stylevar right}: 0px;
top:0px;
}
to this
#pollresults li .percentvotes {
position: absolute;
color:black;
{vb:stylevar right}: 0px;
top:0px;
}
And that's about it.
Fundamentally, the Poll Results now is nicely all visible.

If you use the Standard or Basic editor, the text is black in the reply box, and unreadable. Is there a way to fix that, or is it just a compatablility issue with IE8?

Anyone else seeing buttons to close a window for example with white text on a white button in regular DarkVision? Create Post > Click to Add Video > Buttons are all white on white. Also the New Mail notification window is blue background on blue text. If you mouseover it goes to black background & white text so it can be read.
Anyone know the buttons/css fields I need to look for on these or have these been addressed recently?

We will add this to our list of things to test. vBulletin.com is currently working on browser fixes and this maybe covered in the next update, which is why we chose to release the Darkvision update after vB 4.0.2.

Not a problem. Each problem is addressed when we are correcting bugs. When I say we are working on the bug, that just means it should be fixed by the next release. Until then, all bugs are considered "working on fix".

The doc_width is the stylevar for changing the width. You can add more to it if it is too short.
The doc_margin centers it. The issue has been fixed for the next update, but you must set left and right as "auto" for it to be centered.
Hope this helps.

this seems to be a hot skin. I had installed but had tons of errors in it and could not afford to wait for them to get fixed. I modified many of them myself with some help with others on vb.
I did the upgrade to 4.0.2 and many things actually seem to have worked out but, there are multiple alignment errors with many pages. Seems like some closing tags are wrong or missing.
Was also trying to use the yellow version which was never yellow. Just white or blue.
If this gets updated I would surely download and re-install.

I downloaded and attached. I am no designer or coder and this thing still has issues. If not for Lynne whom is all over the vb.com site some stuff I would have never fixed.
I posted some things over there as well as her tip on using firebug in firefox and doing the search templates is very smart for helping figure out what to change in the stylevars and css templates to get things looking right. As for alignment and coding, I haven't a clue.
I am checking into all the templates now and just reverting back things one at a time. I made a child of the main style and working from there. It is no fun when you are not fully trained on the product but for sure this move to VB 4 has been a learning experience.
If you come across any fixes, post them here so everyone can check them out.
good luck man.

I checked out your site CrosseyedGamer since you mentioned that you still have issues so I checked it out to see how far you had gone in upgrading it before thinking if I should even request you of the updated version.
But I couldn't find any problems on your site, so I assumed you had finished upgrading it? Maybe you could point out the problems?
Thank you.
BTW.. since you downloaded the xml from your site, does that mean that it includes custom changes you made to your site in the templates? (not for the style to work, but to get your other personnel mods to work if you get what I mean, like custom personnel changes)
Thank you, will wait for you to respond and will meanwhile install the skin!

the only thing that was left now that I can see are some background changes. Like the view results on my poll. That was an original thing from this skin and noted I think in the first page of posts. there are a couple areas like that.
Before downloading my inbox and posts where all out of whack. I reverted two templates and they are now ok.
I am guessing this thing has all the changes I made in it. all I did was download the style. When it comes to some areas of this stuff I am not the smartest.
If there is a specific way to download just the core info you need PM me and I will give that a shot.

The menu on the left is white which I actually fixed before the .2 update. I am trying to figure out where that fix is again. Unfortunately, the update is not ready to be released today, however we are working hard to release this ASAP. (Many css changes in vB 4.0.2)

K. Well the one the previous guy released is pretty well upgraded except reply/edit threads is messed up, some white boxes such as calendar. and other tiny alignment issues.
Maybe you can work on top of his?

I really like this skin, but I've had to uninstall it until you can get the bugs worked out of it.
Keep us posted...
Thanks.
+1 from me about waiting for 4.0.2

4.0.1
If I download the standard zip the login and password section are too dark to see. I downloaded the yellow version and the white is what was installed. I like this theme but there are some issues right now that really make it difficult to use. Why have all 3 in a darkvision folder? Why is it not set to have a different folder for each in case users want to try each one? I know its a free theme so don't want to complain but these are pretty basic issues.

We are working on the fix. vBulletin has announced the login box color as a bug and plans to fix it on 4.0.3. We are working to make it work on this version. Thank you for your patience.

Hey my usercp.php navigation on the left still has white background...
What I did was.. .I still had the one that the previous guy here posted before that he said he tweaked it to work with 4.0.2 but I never deleted his, I just installed yours as a new style.. and I guess it overwrote it and fixed some stuff...
Was usercp.php background also supposed to be fixed or something cause I still have it white.
