I was curious how this one looked on the cms before I have it installed so I tried to view it on your homepage and it didn't seem to be working. Is there a reason it doesn't seem to be working on your homepage? Does this update work on all parts of the 4.1.2 system or only the forum? When typing a new message in the main description box, the letters come up black on a dark grey background so is hard to read. It comes up White in the Title but black in the description.

It also does it for my wiki and classifieds as well. When the message is posted, it then shows up in white.

Does anyone know how to change the font to white when typing a message.

I'm having this same issue. It doesn't seem to be happening for any of the other users of my forum though.

Also, some of the text on the profile page, specifically these:

im having the same problem, only i replaced the sprite.png and its still not working, iv even tried replacing the whole editor folder and still nothing :(

Went to your site to look at live preview, and you appear to have been hacked. Makes me wonder if I should install the skin - is the skin the vulnerability there?

It is still messing up on my end with the editor, and the login username, which I moved down within the CSS, is off to the side. I just want everything default with just the posting editor fixed if at all possible, I love this theme, but the messed up buttons on the posting editor is frustrating me beyond belief.

It is working correctly now though with the posting editor now, and the login bar seems to be fixed as well :). There are two more issues that my forum is experiencing. The forum I run is a fixed forum, which this theme was originally, but now it is a fluid one, any chance on you offering a fixed version as well? The forum I run is 1000px wide. Also now when changing to your version of the theme it changes the login to a white background with white text, making it extremely hard to read. Any chance on fixing that also?

You can fix this issue very simple... there is a image file on your images\editor\sprite.png copy this image on to your new skin folder i think it's cpstyles\darkvision\editor :)

We are in the process of converting our site from phpBB to vBulletin. We are attempting to keep the look as close to the current site as possible. We chose your DarkVision because it has a fixed version and has a nice clean look.

Since we are trying to 'clone' our current site, I am altering the backgrounds and such. A friend has been giving me some instructions on how to do this, since I am a true novice at working with vBulletin and a novice when it comes to web design.

But I have gotten stuck and would appreciate some assistance. I have joined TalkTemplets, but could not figure out the correct forum to ask these questions.

The current logo is located at *your forum directory*/cpstyles/darkvision/misc/banner.jpg

Simply replace this file with your logo using ftp (make sure you keep it as a .jpg).

If you look at the image below you'll see the a lot of the UI elements are invisible and the text is near invisible due to the coloring.

Here is the exact xml that we are running on our forums. Try uploading it. If it results in any changes our download zip may be missing an up-to-date xml. If not, we will look into this issue for you. (possibly pm me your url if this xml doesn't work)

OK, I finally figured out how to fix it. I'm not sure if this is the RIGHT way to fix it, but it certainly does fix the issue.

Once I made this change, then now my site works the same as the demo site (as far as I can tell):

The one query that I have is in the new thread editor, the background colors change on focus in the title text box (i think same as the screenshots in page 40). Also the text is black, would be great to have it white.

I've tried looking through the templates and found "control_focus_background", but am unable to see where exactly the code is to change this color, or if its inheriting it from somewhere else.

I await eagerly and appreciatively of the updated css.

It works just fine in 4.1.8 other than the bugs that have been mentioned in the last couple pages of this thread. Just click the option to ignore the version check.

Firstly, thanks for a fantastic theme. It has served us extremely well so far.

The one query that I have is in the new thread editor, the background colors change on focus in the title text box (i think same as the screenshots in page 40). Also the text is black, would be great to have it white.

I've tried looking through the templates and found "control_focus_background", but am unable to see where exactly the code is to change this color, or if its inheriting it from somewhere else.

I await eagerly and appreciatively of the updated css.

what is the meaning of Fluid ?

It means the skin is expanded to fill the entire browser (as opposed to fixed where the skin stays at a fixed width)

I'm newbie sorry about this question, i have searched but cound't find anythink or i missed the key point. I need to edit some colors on theme but CSS is locked. I think this is problem about the vB suit. So, how can i edit CSS?

You can edit the colors using the Style Variables system under admincp>styles>darkvison

The blue is 76e4fb. So I just put a check in "Hide Variables" in the Style Variable Editor. Then went through and clicked on each main box such as Blocks, Blog, Calendar..... and did a Ctrl F in Firefox for that html code, 76e4fb. Everywhere it came up I changed it to my desired color.

Did this color change?

I assume that when I open the .xml file, that color code should show up in there, shouldn't it? When I try to search for it in the .xml, I cannot find it.

Recived 4 emails with the exact same message, If you go to their website there are allot of complaints on this template and others.
I have filed a complaint with PayPal to see if I can get a reversal of charges and also contacted the admins at Vbulletin.com.
Myself I have purchased at least 120 copies of vBulletin for customers of mine and have never see this kind of support or lack of in the Vbulletin communty in the last 8 years.
Nothing against this site but I would only hope that this site would sanction this type behavor as it makes the vBulletin community look bad allowing people to get ripped off like this.

Many times the authors of these skins do not include the default VB images. You will have to copy the FaceBook image over to the corresponding folder but under this styles folder.

I have to agree.

I have this free verison of the style but I have so many issues with it which spoils what is actually a nice style...

My search bar icon is for some reason aligned incorrectly, the colours in the login box cause problems when typing your details; they cannot be seen. The I assume new "saving draft" feature in vbulletin 4 when typing a new post is highlighted in yellow and you cannot see the text. The colour schemes are many a time problematic again in the same way... The old alt1 / alt2 colours need modifying to suit better and it also feels more post icons are needed in some places.

I am most disappointed and was going to part with $22 for the Pro version, but for what feels like a half finished style, I am not sure whether it is justified. Is it any better in the Pro version or will I be trying to complete the style like this version?

For those with the "settings" menu missing from the top, near the login information, just revert the "header" template or replace all of the code with the [Show Default] code. If you are using anything else customized it may be affected and would need to be adjusted but it seemed to be fine for me after I did that.

Sorry, we provide limited support, but we do provide updates for every version of vBulletin. (it has been over a year's worth of countless edits)

If you don't like our free support, either upgrade to pro or find a free style that offers the support you need.

If you look around vB.org, you'll notice that dark skins require a great deal more revisions than light styles. This is due to vBulletin's incessant changes to their template engine, to the point where any change will make a dark style render incorrectly (defaults back to white).

Since you seem to have the time, actually try looking around and you'll notice that the majority of Dark Skins have the "horrible bugs" you mentioned above. I don't want to bring my fellow developers into this, but many of them have even stopped releasing updates. But, you're free to keep searching for the free skin with instant updates you're looking for.

Actually, we don't need more sign ups. We have over 28,000 and much fewer posts. If you think our request to ask you to sign up to test a skin with your browser is too much, then please don't bother using the free skins we've spent hundreds of hours over countless months developing.

We try to solve these bugs in a timely manner, but, again, if the free version isn't what's for you, please move along. You're not accomplishing anything here.

The code controlling the text and background in the WYSIWYG editor is in this section at the very top:

I want to buy the Pro version but the amount of bugs reported in this free version seriously concerns me. Is this the same in Pro or is that version a finished style?

I have downloaded this free style and although impressive on the whole, alot needs to be done to bring it to a completed style in my opinion.

I have the same issue as HellChipz. Many of the boxes appear in WHITE. My vBul version is 4.1.10 so I don't think it has anything to do with the 4.1.11 mess.. or does it?

Yes... the errors show up only when I am logged in as admin.

Reply boxes are fine now. It's just those errors I needed a fix for.

Hi,

We've created a custom css code for you to change the color of the notices background to match the dark forum background.

Edit templates by going to:
Styles > Edit Templates > CSS Templates > Additional.css

Then Paste this code:
.notices li {
background-color: #202020;
box-shadow: 0px 0px 0px;
}

Save the template and it should work fine.

installed the latest version of vbulletin just to get those bug fixes you guys mentioned. and I STILL have those bugs and even a few more added to it now.

The error with the user profiles is actually a vBulletin script error.

We'll upload another release to fix the admin viewable only issues. For now, we're trying to make sure the release is entirely stable (since vBulletin changes a lot of things inexplicably each update :down:)

Great question. Other than the support and priority bug fixes you receive with the premium version, it's also simply an improved design.

The Free Version of Darkvision is the original design and is rather simple when compared with the Premium version.

That seems to be fixed in the new 4.1.11 updated version. But the issue is still there when posting stuff and you want to post videos or images and the small popup comes up. But it's not a huge deal.

What you might want to consider doing now because VB is using product filtering, (CMS, Blogs, Forums) is to develop a forums primary style and individual Blog and CMS files that get merged in to the primary forum style. This should make it much easier to support and trouble shoot.

The other two are that the widget box is still white with the original style, and when you upload a photo, that upload box is unreadable due to the white on white issue. We are supposed to open our doors in 48 hours so I am a little nervous..
Any help or updates?

I edited your modification post and removed two of the additional "Pro/Buy Now" links including the URL you wrapped around the image that also displays "Buy Now" more so because doing that only displays the image and never opens the url regardless. Well talk template wrote me saying they could not get into my site (Although I clicked the link they sent.. Worked for me.. Three times) then they said that the upload screen being white with white text was cause my forum was wrapped in Joomla.. So I am just checking here: Does anyone else have an upload screen with white background white text that is NOT on Joomla? Do you have a fix.. My experience with Talk Template has not resulted in much in the way of success, and I am a paid member.

Perhaps they are not done, but I have not heard from them since yesterday

Everything else is fully function. The header will be fixed in the next update (the settings menu requires a revert of some templates that we felt should not be reverted yet).

Yes, make sure additional.css stays the same. It contains many important css revisions we've made.

They can be changed via the vbCMS stylevars.

We had many requests to keep them white and also requests to make them black. In the next version, we will either give an option to make them white or black, or simply change them back to black for the sake of consistency.

Yeah, I added the Header/login code, but I really don't want to have to go through and add all of the Like Button, Post to Wall, etc code as well.

This is the 2nd style I use by TemplateTalk, and they make decent styles, but it would be nice to hear from them if this was just a mistake, or if the Facebook code is only included with the paid version.

I sent this as a PM to the Author, and have yet to get a response. Looking at the 'Pro' version, I don't see the Facebook code in it either. So it looks like it is just simply missing from this entire Template.

Than only part that really seems to be having problems is what goes in the header style:
