In relation to vbacmps, the images are required to have the full path to get shown there. But even this makes no real sense because the flag links are always leading to the forum.
So is there a way to disable this for cmps sites?
Another thing, the translated pages need a load time between 10-15 seconds.

Hello, now in version 3.8.x installed a mod, the enterprise translator or something, and the truth is that the operation did not like, I uninstalled as indicated by the author of the mod, but since then I have a problem in the sitemaps and her former URL packages sent 20,000 to 20,000, as a result of installing and uninstalling the mod, he appeared a funny thing, like this:

Anyway - please note that vBET has nothing to do with yous sitemap generator so if you uninstalled vBET it will not change generator behavior.

Still probably you changed sitemap generator code according to hints in first post of this thread, so just undo the changes which you made manually in sitemap generator file.

Yes it will translate. robots.txt will only stop robots for going there.

About your load time - please note that first translation time is not about vBET but about Google response. After that results are cached and next translations are much aster. Also please note that paid version have better, faster cache, optimized algorithms and additional performance parameters.

Not everybody want to spend his time making charts even being graceful for great product. As I remember there are here some posts with detailed data - you need to fin it.
Also you can just check some things yourself - i.e. like how many translated pages are indexed on some forum for specific language - just write appropriate query in Google :)

I use a plugin in vB3.5 called "Link Anonymizer and Censor" (available here: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=143615)
This anonymising link to all external urls in posts using a php script stored in the forum root. (php script available here: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=1307913&postcount=64)
For me the file is called "noref.php" and is located in "My_Domain/forums/noref.php"
And when a link is clicked the user get a redirection url like: "My_Domain/forums/noref.php?url=http://www.google.com"
But if an user use the translation by example the french language he get a link like: "My_Domain/forums/fr/noref.php?url=http://www.google.com" and the script try to redirect to "uage=fr&url=http://www.google.com" instead to "http://www.google.com" and the user get a url error.

Please how can I solve this problem??

Glad to hear that vBET is great mod :)

1. Translation speed is Google speed - Google made translation :) Please note that vBET is caching results so after first translation, next are taken form cache and page is generated much faster. We are not able to make Google faster - you can wite them if you want to.
2. Please just read Google description about API key
3. Configuration looks OK. Please PM me access detils for Admin CP and FTP - I will check it on place.

Because free version only made translations and do not support multilingual community. Please note that other version does support it and also allows users to write in their own languages :)

My forum has successfully installed and put into good use for about 1-2 months. however today it is not working. I failed to translate the text does not appear like this error:
Text translation Disappear After all - what is wrong?
Two possibilities:
- You did not fallow installation Instructions. You Must at Least Forum configure option language. Just configure mod
- You set the wrong Google API key - just set the appropriate value there.h checked it is normal option.

If your forum is hosted by hostgator or theplanet, you will receive this behavior since staurday. They enabled mod_security. I`ve tried to discuss the problem with the hoster but they don`t see what rule they have to disable in mod_security to get the translator working again.

Got it working on 3.7.3. Very cool. Two questions...

I use vBadvanced from my front page and the flags only show up as text though they work fine in the forum. Anything I can do get them to be the flags?

How do foreign versions of Google spider the site when the user has to manually create the translation? I'm no techie but was curious about it.

That error refers to a modification that is not compatible with vB4's new templating system, in this case it would be this modification you would need to disable or update to a version that is compatible.

Let be clear.
This is the same that happened to me with NUHIT mods for VB. Those guys from VBET had the opportunity to post here but they are not interested. ?What does it mean?
They took our money and left. I really don't care about the reasons. The truth is that we must learm a lesson: never waste your money in expensive mods done by arrogant and not serious programmers. You can see it all only by watching his avatar.

All the problems, as they use to say, with this mod are always originated by google, your server, your configuration, etc etc, but never by vbet.. and always followed by a smile :)

Lets not get too carried away just yet. The mod is still working fine & doing well on my forum. (hits increased 3X's)

The amount I made through Adsense already paid back the costs for purchasing the mod.

Hopefully we'll get an official word from him soon.

But yeah....this waiting around almost makes me feel like at-least temporarily disabling the mod.

When someone go into the registration page by the translation feature (f.e. /en/register.php)and he accept the rules (by checking the confirmation checkbox) and click on the register button - from some reason, the input's page doesn't translated and if he translating this page by clicking one of the languages flags, he get this system message:
"You have chosen not to accept the forum rules, so registration cannot continue.

Click here to return to the main forums page, or click the 'Back' button on your browser if you now want to agree with the forum rules."

How can I resolve that issue?

I had to disable this mod and abandon it pretty much.

WIthin seconds, not minutes, or hours, SECONDS of activation the entire server crashed. I said, impossible for it to be the mod, must be the server slow.

Sure enough, this mod created so much strain on the dedicated server that I got an email, literally, 10 years of hosting websites, never got an email suggesting that I need to upgrade a server This morning the load on the server was over 100 and the server became unresponsive.

We would strongly urge you to consider upgrading to a server with 8GB of RAM or more.

So im sitting there with a dead website, slower than anything, finally able to go to product manager, disable the VBET and get rid of those entries in my htaccess which also were directing me and my guests all over the place (instead of where they click).

Just as described in first post - you need CURL to use vBET. Without it there is no chance to work.

At this moment you have option to show flags only for guests. So if you fallow by this option you can simply modify appropriate condition and hardcode there some other usergroups :)

Please note that free version do not support multilingual community and that it is why it works this way. This is expected behaviour for free version.

I cannot tell any specific explanation without possibility to go there and investigate. At this moment I can only speculate. It could be because of some .htaccess bug, or wrong vBSEO integration (if you have such) - what could cause looped redirections. Have no other clue. If you want to investigate this - please PM me. Also please note that free version takes more resources, so we have faster solutions.

Please try to install vBET again - upload all necesary files again and import product file again. I have no idea why it could work wrong here - please note that configuratio management is handled by vBulletin native code. So if it will still not work - please ask vB team for help.

I just installed your add on to my forum at http://mfestforum.com/forum It works great and translates the pages but when you try to click on the default language of English it doesn't go back to it. It stays on the language that you translated it to. I have tried it on both Firefox and Chrome and it does this.

Ive run this mod since it started, yes it does bring traffic but it kills servers and has many other bugs, deformed pages, broken links to name a few. Just look at Google and Bing caches of your pages and in webmaster tools, many, many errors.

Until you sort the code out and the vbseo integration the rest of the vB community will continue to laugh at you. Seriously, im not being a +++++, i really like this product but you do not beta testing, have no bug testing, release bad code and it is slow as hell. Also making VBET users edit VBSEO files is a joke, and very unprofessional. VBSEO is an excellent product and you are undermining them.

Here is my server load after uninstalling VBET, the changes are dramatic. The server is a 32 core AMD with 8gigabytes of RAM and 4 SCSI 15k drives in RAID 10, a real powerhouse.

The only thing I have done is uninstall VBET completely, not just disable in vB admincp, as this still leaves the product installed due to all the custom file edits.

And here is Google webmaster tools reports for user page speed (data is delayed, still dropping) and crawler page speed, the results are dramatic. We're talking a up to a 10th of what it was, so 10 seconds load times down to 2! 700ms page crawl times down to 75ms.

So all you people like me whom like extra traffic, make sure you getting that and not trading foreign language traffic and upsetting off all your native speakers in the process with bad load times and deformed pages, broken links and also annoying Google and getting less native traffic than before installing. Take note VBET, sort you code out you are doing nothing but harming vBulletin users and making money from it!

Yeah, xcache, vboptimise, powerful server, everything setup and tweeked to perfection. The stats dont lie, im still getting the same traffic still as google hasnt dropped the pages yet and load and everything is so low. Old translated content is currently 301'd to english. Must be the translated pages, there is no other explanation.

Im not disputing traffic increases, but check your forum, the mod creates broken pages, broken links all sorts, seriously, check everyone of your pages in a browser. Also, traffic hits is one thing, but is this increasing your posts/threads? is it turning off your regular members, all the foreign content mixed in with english, do you really know the effect it is having on your community other than more hits in server logs.

Id love to see your google wmt stats, what sort of page speed and crawl speed you are getting ;) As soon as page speed becomes a bigger issue, people running this are going to see some serious traffic drops, big G wont tolerate 10sec page loads. And that is what wmt reports these pages as taking to render. wmt doesnt lie either.

Yeh, unfortunately my page load times weren't as good to begin with as they could be, but in my testing vBET didn't have a serious effect on load times. My bottleneck is apache and my webserver. I'm running vBO, memcache, nginx proxy, CDNs, etc. I've come to the conclusion that this simply won't be better until I have, at the least, a load balanced pair of powerful web servers + the database server. I wouldn't mind having a RAID 10 array either!

Where were you seeing broken links? I have several mods installed that are also translated (vbdynamics, a custom database) and haven't run across any issues.

Questions: Did you have all 52 languages enabled? From what I've experienced this is a big issue in itself. When google sees all those pages it starts crawling, which creates a serious load. The process of getting phrases and caching them for the first time is very intensive, regardless of how bug free the code is, especially if you have all 52 languages enabled. Then re-caching every 15 day cycles and serving up 52x of pages you have is just that, expensive. I only have 12 enabled and the space required to cache and serve up 150,000 threads isn't too bad, but yes, it does add to resources needed.

As far as the effects on the community go, I can see how there can be a negative effect. For my site there hasn't been simply because conversions into members was low to begin with. If it does become a problem, this is just another dimension of community management that has to be sorted. I've thought about handling different languages on many levels, including a corporate environment. The concept of translating on the fly in a community is the best way to handle this that I've seen.

Load, page speed times and crawl page times are even worse while the cache is being built, all these stats are from a fully cached translation database, so being pulled from mysql, no writing. Broken links includes the breadcrumbs linking to pages that don exist, clone/duplicate pages being generated with bizarre query strings as urls. Personally I have not had any problems with VBET, I bought the paid version, and installed it along with my licenese VBSEO and VBAdvanced and Vbulletin v3.8.6 and the only thing I had to uninstall was the sitemap, I could not get it to work.

Yes, I was a pain to edit a couple of the VBSEO files and get the .htaccess just right, in fact the included docs on VBET is not totally right, I read almost ever post on VBET own forums, and was able to piece together a couple major changes I needed, mainly because of my usage of VBSEO and VBAdvanced.

But afterwards it is running smooth, and at worse maybe 1% more cpu power, and I have a very active forum with over 10,000 users at anyone time posting new posts, and over 1million hits per day of just plain guests lurking and browsing the forums.

As for increased traffic VBET helped my overall worldwide ranking to go down, but since I already clocking in $5,000 a month in adsense, I didn't notice any increase in money from the extra traffic, but I do have some very happy new members from spain, france, germany, dutch, and even perisan that love the auto-translation figure, and my previous half million english only forum members have not had one complaint about the new posts or setup.

I am of course running a very powerful server, is it totally dedi. rack with dual 24 core servers, one for the mysql and the other for www, with alot of custom settings in the mysql and php, fast-cgi, along with eaccelator, memcache, apc (alot tho, memcache I turned off), and tons of ram 32gigs. -- RAM IS VERY IMPORTANT!

I been in the web hosting business since before it existed, and started with running Delphi and later Genie (the big dial-in mainframes) and I see nothing wrong with VBET, except it is not supported by VBSEO (because of the file edits), but hard to get around that when you have two packages wanting to re-write URL's on the fly.

Support on the other hand with VBET is not so good, they are quick to close of support threads, and not fast on repling, so unless you are 1,000% expert in editing and running a dedi. server I would not recommend jumping into the frying pan on this one.

One thing is for sure, you must enable just a few languages at first if you have a very large forum, I enabled about dozen per week, until everything got cached and converted, and be prepared to have tons of free hdd space, once a heavy forum like mine got all 52 langs. going, we had an SQL that was almost 100 gigs in size so far!

Oh'yeah, one thing I forgot is the FULL FILE CACHE for GUESTS is not perfect, I found it better to leave it off, and just use the normal database grabbing for guests.

Could someone explain why this option exists? I don't understand, under what circumstances one would want GUESTS to have webpages translated, but not allow registered users to have the same.

In other words, this option seems backwards to me. I would expect an option to not allow GUESTS to have automatic translations, and instead allow only registered users access to translated text. :confused:

What it this '123test' inside of your table name... Did you made any code changes?... Or it is part of your table prefix? Did you change table prefix after vBET installation? Please download latest vBET version and install again.

Ive run this mod since it started, yes it does bring traffic but it kills servers and has many other bugs, deformed pages, broken links to name a few. Just look at Google and Bing caches of your pages and in webmaster tools, many, many errors.

Until you sort the code out and the vbseo integration the rest of the vB community will continue to laugh at you. Seriously, im not being a +++++, i really like this product but you do not beta testing, have no bug testing, release bad code and it is slow as hell. Also making VBET users edit VBSEO files is a joke, and very unprofessional. VBSEO is an excellent product and you are undermining them.

Here is my server load after uninstalling VBET, the changes are dramatic. The server is a 32 core AMD with 8gigabytes of RAM and 4 SCSI 15k drives in RAID 10, a real powerhouse.

The only thing I have done is uninstall VBET completely, not just disable in vB admincp, as this still leaves the product installed due to all the custom file edits.

And here is Google webmaster tools reports for user page speed (data is delayed, still dropping) and crawler page speed, the results are dramatic. We're talking a up to a 10th of what it was, so 10 seconds load times down to 2! 700ms page crawl times down to 75ms.

So all you people like me whom like extra traffic, make sure you getting that and not trading foreign language traffic and upsetting off all your native speakers in the process with bad load times and deformed pages, broken links and also annoying Google and getting less native traffic than before installing. Take note VBET, sort you code out you are doing nothing but harming vBulletin users and making money from it!

And now answer from vBET owner: The guy which made this thread - Dave Hybrid is lying. He refused vBET support. He claims that he got 10 seconds page loading, but when we him asked to give at least one link to such page he refused.

The guy - Dave Hybrid - is cheater ant thief (it is true - I have proofs for that - see below). He was making other translation mod and I (Michał Podbielski) was cooperating with him. For this cooperation all donations which came to the mod suppose to be mine. After he closed the mod it appears that he was stealing because he didn't gave me any donation which he got for the mod. He is angry, because I made my own mod and after this he tried to reopen his own, what was total failure for him. That is how I became competition for him and why he is angry and writes lies. He was also cheating people on vbulletin.org that he was author of the mod, but he wasn't - he has no idea about programming.

What he is doing now is simply hate campaign - just Google some of his text from this thread and you will see that he spammed this post everywhere he could. Hate campaign made by thief, cheater and layer, and as we see also spammer. Hate campaign made because he failed with his own translation mod. See here for proofs:

That is what he was writing about his crappy translation mod which is much worst than vBET. And this is the true about what vBSEO team wrote on their forum: seeing is believing - now you see that he is able to create any graph he wants and write anything just to get his goal. On my free version plugin page he even wrote that he would write anything just to get one more mod download (moderators of vbulletin.ogr forum removed this post). And now this layer is doing the same - just for other reason: he is writhing anything just to make vBET loose at least one customer.
For those who are seeking the truth - this is his original image he put for his mod. You can see filter hl= what was language parameter in his mod.

His words and graphs are worth nothing. By the way - in my mod thread he was writing that he was laying before also to scare my users. I'll admit I was skeptical at first a couple months of the vBet plugin. I kind of just held back and waited for awhile to see & hear results from other legitimate members on their forums and even vbulletin.org.

Also, i'm not one of those guys that just jump into things out of excitement either... I analyzed the plugin and waited for months to hear other peoples stories / opinions. And see their results as well.

I finally went for it about a week ago. (paid version) And already , just under a week i'm already getting a ton of traffic from the /de/ , /fr/ , /ru/ , languages...and it seems to be increasing by the day into more languages.

I'm not going to post the link here as i'm not sure of vbSEO's stance on the plugin, but you can google vBet to see what I mean.

The 'good stories' section of their forums keeps showing more and more good stories by the day it seems. He's even hiring more people now because of the popularity of the plugin.

I think it would be great if vbSEO & vBet work together because the results are definitely there.

I ran some numbers for last year and because of VBET non-english speaking traffic was up 67% from last year, while overall hits were up 19%.

Is the extra server load worth it to me? yes. Did I expect server load to go up when duplicating my content 12 times? (I didn't enable all 52 languages) yes. Was there a negative impact on traffic to regular pages? No, it's gone up as well.

So to each their own. The mod has proven to be useful for me.

After installing this a lot of sleeping mysql processes are appearing waiting up to 40 seconds and lot of network connections to google 500-1500 are reported when checking via netstat.

Switching on/off the cache brings nothing.

Optimising mysql configuration - changing buffer sizes etc also dosn't help

Allowing apache to keep the connection longer alive also brings nothing.

Seems it is simply the problem of waiting for google to translate the sent text, that could take a while and why so many sleeping processes and permanent connections to google server.

I think this could be escaped if one can have his own translator engine. Do you now if there is a one that one can install on his own server and provide online translation?

Google api v1 will be closed by 1 December 2011, therefore free versions of vBET - 2.3.x/2.4.x will stop working after this time

Right now google api v1 sets its new, more strict, limits, so if You see blank page, there are some translations missing, You have probably reached your requests/translation limits.

Paid Google API is changed to FREE Yandex translation API. It supports less language pairs, but gives 1 000 000 FREE characters/DAY to translate. To compare Google gives 0 and Microsoft only 2M/month.

Post what errors you get. I've never had any problems when I disabled it.

I have installed the Addon on my Site. So far seems fine working. I only have one Issue....

The TRanslations Flags i have set to Navbar-Top. But this Setting doesn`t work within my ibproarcade. Sitewide the Flags appear, except on my Arcade. Where do i have to put in the $vbenterprisetranslatorflags to make them visible also in my Arcade?

My URL structure uses DBSEO. I had VBSEO but couldn't get it to work with 4.2.3. I switched to DBSEO. If you can support this I'll renew my translator support.

I like your plugin but it has to work with my url structure. VB doesn't code enough SEO into vbulletin and I can't live without it.

Martin, I understand how a vBSEO license works. I have vBSEO and i need to keep that url structure as you seem to want to keep it too. You've stated you won't help us use DBSEO with vBulletin. OK...So can you help us use VBSEO with vBET?

I would much rather keep my url structure using a SEO product that is supported and creates "NO follow: tags for external links, etc... but your not giving me that option.

My point is you are not using friendly urls so you understand why i'm not. And my forum has been around much longer than yours. I have almost 10 years of backlinks to protect. Changing the url structure isn't an option for me. But I also need your product which I was using before as well.

So let's find a way to make this work.

If you had a vBSEO then you can come back to vBSEO. We use vBSEO on vB4 and there are no problems. Lack of support vBSEO can be troublesome, but if you have configuration verified and there is no problem with it then support is not needed. We do not share vBSEO.
