hm I've unfortunately still the trouble with this arcade here.
because I really can not help what I do I can not get token whom a high score to be transferred.

But before I come now to the latest version should upgrade, I prefer to write the times I have the latest version on it but I've had the vbcms (portal) with me on it. Now I have the portal to the start page of the Forum made, I've read in the vbcms.php renamed index.php and index.php in forum.php.
I hope it can help someone because the arcade is back
I think your having the same problem as me........

My original VB index.php has been renamed to forum.php and the VBAdvanced cmps_index.php has been renamed index.php

The v3A games submit fine, but the IBPro games call index.php on submission, which is obviously wrong and you end up with just a blank page.

I would appreciate some help on this too, as I've been chasing my own tail trying to find a solution.

I got this installed on 3.8.1 and it's working fine. I have to say that the installation instructions are pretty vague and have the potential to cause some serious problems if you don't know what you're doing. ie overwriting file folders because the instructions only say to install the files in the "forums folder" to the forums directory. If a person takes that literally and does that they overwrite their forum folders.

I would definitely suggest a more indepth explanation as to how and where to install all of the files in the installation instructions.

In your admincp select V3 Arcade then games then find the game and select Delete and press Go.
chmod your folder if you havent and after that just reinstall the games.

No. The contents of the AdminCP folder in the zip file are supposed to go into the AdminCP folder on the server. It doesn't overwrite the folder. The contents of the folder are written to the corresponding folder on the server.

No, it doesnt make sense.

Folders do not get overwritten, only files of the same name would get overwritten, thats basic facts about how file copying/uploading works. :)

Let's say you have "Folder A" on the server containing "file1.php, file2.php, file3.php and file4.php" and you have "Folder A" on your desktop with "file1.php, file2.php, file3.php, file4.php, file5.php, file6.php" inside it.

When you upload "Folder A" from your desktop to your server, It will only overwrite existing files and adding new files. It does NOT overwrite the folder itself. So, you will still have your Folder A with all the files intact in addition to the new files you uploaded.

Can anyone confirm that if I uninstall the old arcade software and install V3 Arcade this error would go away?

On Certain games on my install i get the following error:

The confusing part is this only happens if you play the same game twice in one visit to the site.

On my server, I have admincp folder under my forum, I also have images,includes and client scripts.

is the right way to install it like: put all the files of the admincp folder(from the zip) inside the servers 'admincp'? and so on?

the 'arcade' and 'games' folder should have their own folder?

also..in the "admincp" (from the zip) there is a folder called "games". Is the 'game' folder in the 'admincp' (from the zip) to be imprted in the 'admincp' in the server or do i put that in the 'games' folder?

I checked and the navbar_buttons_left template hook is present, the only difference is that code is in the header template instead of the navbar template in the customized template. I'll probably add it manually, but I was wondering if we could have the option as to where it goes. I'd like to try it under the Community links myself. Any way to do this?

Don't want to sound noobish but where would I turn off the link that v3Arcade adds to the navbar upon installation to add it back where I want it...say on a second navbar? I am still learning and did look on the navbar for it but didn't see it. I do know how to add it back but I need to get rid of the one that's there first.

I've found it in the navbar template as well as the header template. If you're using a custom style, check the header template first. Seems a favorite place for some to stick menu items. ;)

The question I have has to do with the trophys or crowns, etc showing. Is it possible to have your trophys show on the arcade page if you are the champion of the game but not show in the postbit?

If I turn the postbit option off in the settings then on the arcade page where it says "Want This?" and shows a trophy, it still says "Want this?" but shows a red X.

How would I accomplish the trophys showing in the arcade but not in the postbit? Is it possible?

I would like to know this as well...ThanksThe problem going on is that if the hook name has been moved to the header template instead of the navbar, then the plugins & code that looking for stuff while processing the navbar will never find it. The code is not universal, meaning that the mere act of moving the bit template name text from one template to another does not automatically mean that the hook will continue to work in the new template.


With the 1.x.x series, we are more less set in stone with feature changes. With the upcoming 2.x.x series, the positioning of the automatic link is one of the things that will be changed.

With work being done on the 2.x.x series, we did not want to end up in a situation where we were introducing a bunch of new options in 1.x.x while also totally rewriting mass chunks of code in 2.x.x at the same time.

In Ibproarcade there is special settings for games who scores with decimal value. In v3 arcade this scores are approximatedI saw your post over at v3A as well (thanks for posting it there, it makes it easier for me to know what issues are on the "Open/To Do" list yet :) ). The decimal scores should not be behaving differently so this weekend after I get 1.1.0 packaged & posted I will go back and experiment a bit.

I've tried converting it to .tar but perhaps i'm being useless but v3arcade refuses to install it.

It was installed on my previous install if IBP but according to the .php it's a v3arcade game.

I've just converted a different .zip game to tar so I'm assuming the php is not compatible with this version of v3arcade.

I have copied this answer by Kevin from a post over at v3arcade.com since I couldn't bother to write it myself. :)

If that problem is what I think it is, then it means that you're selecting ACP => v3 Arcade => Default User Settings but you have not set the new arcade usergroup permissions yet.

Please go into one of your usersgroups (eg: administrators) by selecting ACP => Usergroup Manager => {Administrators} Edit Usergroup and then scroll down the page a bit and you will see a new "Arcade Permissions" grouping of options. Set the options for the administrators (does not matter what, just change something with their permissions) and then hit the Update button. You should see a message like 'bitfileds rebuilt' or similar.

That should take care of the problem for you.

if you have downloaded in zip or tar file, i just upload the games to admincp/games folder then extract, then add the games from your admincp.

Using Cmps IBP games redirect to the front page index.php TRUE?? Tournaments do not work using IBP games True??? V3 Arcade games are the key to not having to re-code your index.php page.

You are absolutely right. IBPro games sends their scores to index.php.
So if you don't want to edit your custom index.php page you must keep searching for v3Arcade games.

Normally only one line needs to be added. Personally I think it could be worth the problem...

My tournament add-on (if it is that tournament you are refering to) will work with IBPro games. But only if you get them to work in the main arcade, of course.

Is the new version of the arcade supposed to hide games that are not enabled? I've got a game that's not quite working so I disabled the game in the admincp interface. However people are still seeing the game in the arcade list. I could just remove the game, but I hope to get some time to work on it eventually so I don't want to remove it.

Well, my problem is that my original usergroups don't save -- it creates NEW usergroups! I have like 4 "administrator" groups because I tried to change it three times... screenshot illustrates it.

To make matters worse, only the "newly created" ones save any arcade settings! Wtf?

Sayid, if you're "*[]*" in the ACP, then it sounds like you may missed uploading some files to your server. Make sure all of the files in the forums folder, in particular the /forums/includes/xml folder, have been uploaded. :)

I own the site, am a super admin and I get the errors. Usergroup permissions as I know them to be have zero bearing on me or my other members getting the error I stated above. That's why I'm looking for further help on the matter.

It's been that way since day 1! Every usergroup including guests can view the arcade.

->Admin and mods have full reign to play.

I haven't ran IE in YEARS. Latest version of firefox is what I'm using. I can never get my members to get me constant and reliable feedback on exactly what games and when they get the error I posted above. They just tell me that they are getting it.

But to your question, it's not every game. I uploaded a game today....played it the 1st time and obviously got the high score. Played it again now 4 times and got the error above. As talked about in the v3 forums, it's most likely a cache issue of some sort. If I remember correctly, they are mostly all IPB games where the issues arise. It would have to be....are there more than 10 v3 games out there? lmao

Getting permission from the game creators to redistribute them is another matter.

I was not planning another update this fast but the problem was important enough to get this worked on as a priority item and to get the update available to the v3 Arcade community as soon as possible.

In a nutshell... if you have been experiencing problems where certain games seem to randomly display a "No Permissions" error instead of saving the scores, you'll want to install this update.

Please note: If after installing the update you still get the occasional report of a user having a problem, please ask them to clear their browser cache before trying again. The code changes should kick in immediately without needing them to clear their cache, but just in case...

After doing some Google searches it appears that version of the game has issues and has been updated over the course of time (the cards have a different design and the layout at the bottom of the screen is different). What I did not find was the game creator's 'home site' to get the current status of the game.

I'll keep an eye out for any Solitaire games that are freely available.

I still have to see how to remove and add games because I have a couple that I've downloaded, but I haven't been able to get them to work yet :(For removing games, you can do that through the ACP (ACP => v3 Arcade => Game Tools). For adding games, there are actually a few different ways of doing it. v3A games can be added via the v3A Game Store or using the Mass Import feature (ACP => v3 Arcade => Game Tools => v3 Arcade - Mass Game Import). IBP games can be added via the the Mass Import feature as well (ACP => v3 Arcade => Game Tools => ib "Pro" Arcade - Mass Game Import). If you are using the mass game import then the thing to remember is that you can import one type of game at a time or another (eg: all v3A games or all IBP games) but you can not mix & match during the same import session. Just upload the files (zip files for v3A games, tar files for IBP games) to your server in the /forums/admincp/games folder and then click the button; you do not need to manually unzip/untar any files.

As Biker_GA mentioned, I would start with checking your vBulletin cookie settings and also making sure that your URLs are correct (eg: If you go to http://yoursite.com and login and then go to http://www.yoursite.com/arcade.php to play games, then based upon your cookie settings you'll have the problem you're describing).

On the right, where you can change the solution of a game for example, we could add below a form, where we can add the username whom we want to challenge. Like in private message, the system can suggest you the right username, after you write about 3 letters. Something easy. :)

FiMeTi, we have started the testing of v3 Arcade 2.0.0 (Alpha 3 right now) and so I will take your PM & suggestions to see what we can work into the new release.

I really like that idea of the AJAX name search of finding a user to challenge but at this point it likely won't make it for 2.0.0 but I will be keeping that one in mind for the future.

ThanksNot yet. The current importer was made prior to the current versions of v3 Arcade supporting IBP v32 games so those games would be a problem. IBP games yes, IPB v32 games no. We have been holding off on creating an updated importer because v3 Arcade 2.0.0 coming soon. That version (currently in testing over at v3A) introduces several new features. Once we get 2.0.0 released as a Gold version then we'll be working on an updated importer.

With the 1.x.x series you'll need do use a plugin. I don't recall if I posted this here at vB.org but you can grab a copy of the plugin from this thread over at v3Arcade.com (http://www.v3arcade.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1654).

Going forward with the 2.x.x series (in Alpha testing right now), the ability of specifying the default category will be an option in the ACP instead of having to use a plugin.

But, I did notice one odd thing with it. I have the Vbulletin Blog on my forums, and in the User CP, at the bottom, it says 'Edit Arcade Options,' but it's under a 'Blog' tab.

Contra Fates, it should be showing up under the "Miscellaneous" grouping in the UCP. It relies upon the "usercp_nav_complete" template hook so if you're using a custom style it may be possible that the template hook is not in the right spot. I've tryed without success. It always says that "There are no more games to import." when this isnt so.

File Path The location of your uploaded files, in relation to your root forum folder. It should be readable AND writeable by your web server (usually chmod 0777). = myadmincp/games

is this configuration correct? And if yes, why i cant upload more games also if there're on the games folder?

I've so many games downloaded that i cant upload anymore :(

Before with single upload all working (ok, was one at time but work) with mass import not.

On default the folder is "admincp", i've another name for this folder so, with mass import gives me a error:

...If you want, I can take a look at your installation versus the settings. You have raised a good point about sites where the name of the default "admincp" folder has been renamed. The name of that folder should really be a dynamic variable to handle situations like that. I will add that to do the master "To Do" list to get it into a future version.

where do i download the game from?v3 Arcade can use v3 Arcade games, IPB games, and IPB v32 games. So, yes, the quality of games is the same. :p There is a small collection of example games available directly at v3Arcade.com. Above & beyond that, you'll need to use Google or other search engine to locate sites to download games from. We do not list any specific sites since we can not vouch for the games on those sites. For future versions, we are working on making the process easier.

Hopefully it'll be a lot prettier if the admincp file has some hooks.I know you mentioned it over at v3A but did you list specifically where you'd need the new hooks? I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem getting them in 2.0.0.

Only issue I'm having is that we're only enabling the arcade for Admins and 'Premium' members. But since the 'challenge' link shows up under every member name, and there's no way for Premium members to know another member doesn't have access to the arcade, it kind of sets us up for having Premium members constantly 'challenge' non-premium members who still get the messages but when clicking on the challenge link, can't access the arcade.

Am I missing something obvious here, is there a way to set it up so that only the Premium members have the 'challenge' link under their usernames?

This validated the license and allowed additional games to install part of the way. But they didn't work and the images didn't get copied in. Would be nice to have an option to install on https. thanksWhen playing a game in the current version of v3A the page is purposely set to not allow it to be cached. If you hit the 'back' button, instead one of the links to play the game again, it is trying to use the locally cached copy from your browser which won't be found. I am using the phrase "$vbphrase[first_visit_message]" inside of a vBa CMPS and that phrase accepts two links, one for faq.php and one for register.php. In my template I forgot to use "$vboptions[bburl]/register.php" intead of just "register.php" since the template will be shown outside of the forums folder.

... upload everything in the "files" folder (a file named arcade.php along with several folders) to the same folder on your server where you have vBulletin installed (typically "forums" or similar).

... Import the "product-v3arcade.xml" file into vBulletin (ACP => Plugins & Products => Manage Products => Add/Import Product)

... Go into your user groups and set their permissions to the arcade (ACP => Usergrouips => Usergroup Manager => {name of group} Edit => Arcade Permissions)

... Have fun. :)


(Note... you should not try to install multiple arcade prodcuts on the same instance of vBulletin unless you have modified one or other to avoid any conflicts.)
That was an interesting read but after unzipping the download there is no "files" folder in it, just a "Forums" folder, is that the same?

Also it says upload everything, does this mean everything into the "Forum" folder (which I have 2??) in my cPanel or into each separate folder; Induces folder into my includes folder> Images into my images folder...and so on?
If so where to upload the "games folder"?
Kind of don't get where to upload everything to any help would be great.

Now the interesting part is that the error relates to a "mgc_cb_evo" chatbox, but that chatbox is not the one that is installed on this board.!!

You're right, it has nothing to do with the Arcade modification. To remove information from the database, you'll have to go in and do it manually.

Upgrade from 1.07 seemed to go well, but I'm having just one problem. When I got the main arcade page and click on someones name with a high score, it does nothing and I get an explanation point error in the taskbar of internet explorer. When I click on it. the following message appears:

I found a small 'bug' on arcade admin (arcadeadmin.php):

If you setup an custom admincp folder, maybe you will have problem to install games, receiving a php error.

Solution, change both line bellow:

To install, just upload the compressed file to admincp/games and go to admincp -> game tools.

I have just installed Arcade on our forum. Absolutely brilliant!

One small problem though.

Our forum is installed as follows:

Because we have the whole of the forum software installed at /forum none of the images that we uploaded seem to work.

What do I have to do to re-link them?

More one 'bug' detected:

The phrase "Latest Scores" on arcade home 'sidebar' is not in vb phrase system. I just translated directly in template 'arcade_main'.

Hope you can 'fix' it in next release.

More one error it was found:

At ajax search follow this steps:

1) search for any game (make sure game exists on arcade)
2) the results will show
3) now delete the text of search field and see the dots gif still visible all time after you clear the field.

Here is my solution for this small fault. Edit the template arcade_ajaxsearch and replace that function bellow:
