Description:
This MOD automatically create a sidebar column on the left or right in your forum.

Features:


Show only Index or All Pages.
Choose StyleID, which you want to use for the sidebar.
User Infomation with Avatar
Latest Threads
Poll
Advertisement
Partner LinksInfo:

Install:

1. Import Product via Manage Products
ACP >> Plugins & Products >> Manage Products >> [Add/Import Product]

Very nice mod, installed and working first time on 3.8.0.

1. You need to fix the sidebar login box.
2. Please put an option to exclude page i.e. register.php online.php (for those who choose to show sidebar on all pages)
3. Add an option to show latest threads for all forums. (for those who has 40/50 forums)
4. Add an option to show latest post (the last post option) as well.
5. Add an option to show latest polls for all forums. (for those who has 40/50 forums)
6. Add an option to exclude forum id for both latest thread/post/poll.

You should also add to your post that if anyone gets database errors after enabling the "Latest Threads" section, to check that they dont have two comma's ,, I found this out the hard way ...

I found another bug with the sidebar. I have poll section enabled. When a user votes on a poll, they are taken to the thread page of the poll, but their vote isint displayed. When they try voting again, it says their vote has already been counted and the vote still doesnt display. When voting directly from the poll, the vote is counted like normal. I tested this on another account and one of my forum members tested it on his too.

1. Can we have "x" number of boxes on top and after "Partner Links" with option to key box title in Admin CP / Side Columns?

So that we can put a notice on the top of the side column before user statistics and some ads for various users after partner links.

2. Can we also have some boxes called Featured Ads or Featured Threads (box title changeable at Admin CP / Side Columns) and these boxes can extract the threads from a particular forum selectable at Admin CP / Side Columns?

It will be a great improvement and be mod of the month.

Hi again, I must say this is a very useful mod. My question is that I would like to have multiple forum content in the right column but wish to separate them in different chunks with different headings.

Is there a way to replicate the: ForumID. section and number of posts repeatedly in that column and set different ID's and diffent numbers of threads (date or lastpost order) for each one?

I don't know if this will help you but, I had the same issue. I corrected it by reducing the size (width) of addons that appear below my forums.

The difference being you can have a dedicated forum for polls and it will display the latest one creadted, or enter in the thread ID number and set it in the vbOptions part. Once that is done, your poll will display.

I am a bit thick with code, how and where did you do that, looks good on your forum.

I only have 1 addon that was blowing the page out and that was the Advanced Forum Stats product by Cybernetec. I reduced the width of the field sizes in the ACP and it worked out great!

Found the code in the .xml file to change the font color in the poll, but unfortunately you can't just change it for one style. That would be a nice addition to an update for this product.

By adding in the style ID it works fine with my custom style... On my forums it makes them too wide and unattractive so I will uninstall. Perhaps later an option to resize the OTHER column you create by installing this.

Just add <br> at the end of each line like. That code creates a line break. You only need it on the first two

Awesome, simple to install. Exactly what I was looking for for the forum index.

Suggestion for next update would be to choose certain pages instead of "index or all pages". Like I would love to turn it on for albums and all forum pages, but when I choose all it's adding to even my arcade pages and my portal front page.

I had to uninstall it as well. Needed to be able to choose which pages to put it on or not put it on, All or just front was too vague. Was a very simple install and worked fine. I just needed more control.

Hmmm...there are 2 boxes or you edit one of them and you put your HTML via Vbulletin Settings

or you edit sidebar column template and you just add for example

1 problem: "[URL]" BBCode is not parsed when a poll is displayed. In other words, on one of my polls, the options are wrapped in [URL] codes but it isn't parsed; the code is displayed in the sidebar.

Some suggestions:
We should be able to enter '0' for "all" in many of the settings. E.g. style Ids, forum Ids, etc.
It would be nice to have a "today's birthdays" module

got mine to work on custom style.. I was putting in display order number not the style number of the forum... click on forum under styles and templates, then click on edit style... on that page you will see the style id number at the top

Just go into your admincp, click on vboptions, scroll down and find sidebar column settings, go to advertisement in that setting block, and just put in what code you want. You can add how ever many you want......

installed it and it worked great, but when i made a reply to a post and checked out the sidebar, all of a sudden now there's a horizontal scroll bar. users are now required to scroll horizontally to actually see the sidebar. How do I edit this so that everything fits on one page with no horizontal scroll bar at the bottom?

Edit: sidebar is currently installed, but disabled until I understand how to edit it so there is no horizontal scroll bar at the bottom.

Doesn't seem to work with a vbskinworks that I have purchased to use on my site. Currently it is on my test site, www.p4ptemp.com/forum (http://www.p4ptemp.com/forum) and the right side bar doesn't display at all even though I have it selected for showing on the right hand side. Info back from vbskinworks.com they don't code in sidebars. Any idea where the code needs to be in the skin to have the sidebars display, really would be great if anyone can tell me, so I can add it in to the templates. Otherwise sort of useless not being able to use the sidebar areas to display info and ads etc if wanted to which is what I use this for.

This mod only needs 2 things IMHO

1. Ability for member to Enable / Disable (a simple flag + if statement)

2. Ability to add custom blocks.

I am running this on 3.8.2. -- when I select the admincp option such that the sidebar is to display only on the home page, it works great.

However, when I select "allpages" such that the sidebar should display throughout the site, it moves from the side to the footer.

I've seen other reports of this problem.

Works fine on 3.8.3, upload xml product and go to vboptions and set it up. Ypu have to add the forum id's to include. Make sure you do not have a trailing comma. i.e. 1,2,3,4, that last , will cause a db error.

Only concern I have is that my private forums show up, have fiddled with forum id's and no success yet.

Other than that it works perfectly.

I'm trying it out, but for some reason it's only showing on the forumhome (with the forum taking up the whole width), but on the new posts page the new posts area is not max width, and the sidebar isn't showing up within any other pages (showthread, etc).
