I am having exactly the same issue. I had the previous version installed and it worked great!
Can anyone help? I installed 'vmoods' (i.e. the parent folder for 'images') in the root directory....and no luck!

Hey, just need to check - once this is added it won't give birth to the security token error?
Has the line of code been added so that it works with the security token feature?
Just been having a lot of issues with this + mods
Thanks!

I am having a problem with the images showing up on forumhome. The name of the mood shows up, but not the image. See the attached image for an example of what I am seeing.
The path in the ACP is correct
The "Show images in the dropdown menu" is selected.
Ideas?

Just thought I'd mention that Opera doesn't like the CSS used for some reason. I had to use some creative CSS hacks to make this work across all browsers.

More of a suggestion than anything else here. I noticed that when you opt to using other custom mood images it's not very user friendly and I had to go into the xml and insert the dimensions of the new mood icons that I designed. As you can see I set the title "my mood" so that it sits flush with the bottom of the icon in the postbit and I'm still tinkering around and trying to set it so it is flush under the private messages the same way as in the postbit because it seemed using the larger icons looked strangely aligned when the larger icons are applied.
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2008/07/13.gif
If you could also bold the text "my moods" so that it is more prominent would be great so that you don't have to go into the xml file and alter each time when an update comes out.
I guess my suggestion is to apply a more user friendly solution for people who want to use other custom icons with different dimensions without us going into the xml file and altering it to the new mood image dimensions. :)
Good work sniper and I hope to see these small grievances addressed. :up:

I also found that after I originally installed it, I had to add an extra break under the mood line because the image overlapped off onto the menu area - because I am using bigger mood images than the default ones. Thought it was worth a mention :D

I don't know if this will help others but I spent two hours trying to figure out why my images weren't showing (I uploaded Shelley's wonderful new moods :up:) because I loaded them to the correct place but all I was getting was a blue ?. I re-uploaded everything and it still wasn't working. It turned out I needed to change the permissions on all of the images. They were only readable by the owner. So if you haven't tried that option I would suggest looking at that. Once I made them readable by all, they worked beautifully.

Thank you...I absolutely love them. I'm having the overlap problem but hopefully someone will show me how to add the break to even it out...
In the vbimageworks-forum I found this solution:
Just go to the vMoods-options, scroll down to the vMoods-CSS-editbox and change the value "height" to "28px" and the value "width" to "93px".
This refers to the recent version of vMoods.

Remember if anyone is having alignment issues (postbit solution) with relation to the larger custom moods you will need to go into the xml file (open in notepad) and change the alignment so it sits flush with the icon.
http://img363.imageshack.us/img363/4553/previewpostbitfixhg8.gif
Find:
$vbphrase[vmoods_my_mood]
Change to:
$vbphrase[vmoods_my_mood]
Can't figure out how to align the text in relation to the icon in the navbar so if anyones got a solution I'm all ears. :)
I've suggested this before sniper but if you could compensate for the larger mood icons so that the system is more user friendly and rectify the text alignment issues would be great on your next update. :)

This is a solution to fix the alignment problem in the navbar which was pmed to me by Kinneas so credit goes to him/her so thank him/her. :)
Go into the vbmoods Css replace vbmoods container line of code with the following. I set the padding-top to 18 pixels so it's sitting flush on the bottom where Kinneas had it set to 13px which sat in the middle.
#vmoods-container p{margin:0px; float:left; font-weight: none; padding-top:18px; padding-right:5px}
In the Xml file find:
<span id="vmoods-none"<if condition="$bbuserinfo[vmood] != 'none'">style="display:none;"</if>>$vbphrase[vmoods_change_my_mood]
Replace with:
<span id="vmoods-none"<if condition="$bbuserinfo[vmood] != 'none'">style="display:none;"</if>>
$vbphrase[vmoods_change_my_mood]
Upload the xml file selecting yes to overwrite.

I know... I'm talking to myself but hey - no-one else will...
I've got the moods appearing in the Arcade now - seems the variable was nested into an area that may only have appeared if the PM basket was full...
Problem is, the current mood appears only: Clicking does nothing and there's no javascript of the pile of images in the footer as there is on the other pages throughout VB..
Apparently, in the prior version - this could be resolved by adding $vbmoods to the arcade/functions/functions.php file.
Anyone actually have this working within the arcade page?

My moods are showing up in the "welcome" box at the top right side of the page, and in the postbig (under membernames, etc). However, it's also showing up at the very bottom of the homepage, and on every other page that I view. My forum is running very slow, and has been ever since these extra moods have been showing up everywhere. I'm not quite sure what I did to make the moods show up in places other than the "welcome/PM' area and the postbit. If anyone can tell me how to ONLY have those moods show up in those two places, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

I managed to get the images to show in the end, but they were not clickable
It also looked terrible in my welcome box as it sits to the right of the main board, so the template info is actually in the footer.
I could get it aligned using various techniques through the thread here, but it still spills over the bottom of the welcome box. If i move the hook it just sits over existing text for my credits, its bizarre.
Sorry to say it as i really like this hack, but Uninstalled

For new registrants, vmood is set to blank ('') and doesn't display correctly. It appears that the add-on is searching for the field to be 'none'. I believe in the previous version, it correctly searched for ''.
This creates a problem for new members because they can't seem to get the script to work. What we've been doing is adding in the name of a valid mood via the ACP and after that everything functions as it should.
The other thing I did is do a database replace for the vmood variable to change all '' to 'none' but that doesn't help with the new registrants problem - only existing members. I cannot remember the name of the variable that I needed to change, though - can you remind me?
However, it obviously needs a more permanent fix.

Ive done this but it now pushes over the VBCredits line :confused: (Which is the line underneath VBMood in the NavBar)
I'm having the same problem.
I tried this:
- How can I change the location of the moods dropdown menu navbar
disable the auto edit in the Admin CP, now you will have access to
$vmood_form
place that anywhere you want in the navbar template, you can try other templates but I can't say if it will work or not
but when I do, the mood doesn't show up in the navbar.
EDIT: I found that if I add a
tag before the vbCredits block (<if condition="$show['navbar_credits']">)in the navbar template, it moves it down to the next line and the mood doesn't overlap it when it is still set up for auto edit.
This solves my problem, but I'm still curious if there is a reason why the $vmood_form method didn't work.

Hey Steve1966 - I had some luck this morning getting this to work in the arcade! I'm using the newest versions of both as far as I know...
Here's a link to the fix (well.. "works for me" kind of thing)
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=1585232&postcount=7
No need for a file edit

Ok, my forum takes along time to load pages because of this, I think this happens because I've the
in the top of my header and
in the end of my footer (below the JS codes) that's why it takes longer time to load everything.
Any help with that?

You can try the following code, I'm using postbit but locate (and i'm assuming you want it above "no of posts") the postbit_legacy template. Insert the following code:
<div class="smallfont" "vertical-align: bottom">$vmood_postbit

place it above:

$vbphrase[posts]: $post[posts]

Hopefully that will help you. :)

In the vMoods options, try changing the "vMoods CSS". Where it says #vmoods{ I think you have a height value which is causing it to cut off. Try increasing or removing it.

You can add as many moods as you want in the vMoods options. Just add a name in the list and then make a corresponding .gif file (Eg, Confused would be Confused.gif - It's case sensitive)

The script does work. You just have too tinker around with the settings a little to have it showing correctly. Most issues people are having are alignment and size issues which myself and kinneas explained on how to resolve in numerous posts throughout this thread.

The problem I and some others are having is it not showing at all. I tried some of the code snippets people have posted to have it show above the post counnt but all that showed in my postbit was a gap because of < /br>. I have uploaded all files and images correctly, and also edited the code according to the instructions and still it will not show at all.
If anyone knows how I can get it to work Ill be really grateful, I think this is one of the only mods I have left to install and one of the best too!

When I was first installing this I had nothing but bad luck, it wouldnt show anywhere on the board. The main one to get working is the selector which is $vmoods or $moods I think, cant remember which one. Try placing it in the navbar template or if you have a member control panel on your forum home, then inside there.
Hope you have some luck too :)

i have searched this thread for an answer and hope i did not pass it over,
however I recently installed vBadvanced and the drop down list for the mood shows up on the portal however all the images have red X's on them. When you go to the index page of my forums the images display with no problem.
Any ideas?

09-28-2008, 09:53 AM
that's because vbcmps is a +++++ and you have to copy all hacks' images to your cmps directory.
easiest way is to right-click on the red x, see where it's looking for the images, and then actually put them there. that's the easiest way around it.

OK I feel dumb for not thinking to check the paths.
I put the images where it was searching for them (in fact the entire vbmoods folder) and now the images show up but you can't select another mood from the cmps

Try using the selector in a different template altogether, keep testing it out in different locations and eventually it wont do that, I had the same problem here. I got it to work in the navbar on its own and a right side block member panel

You may have inserted the code in the postbit and set the Auto Edit Postbit to yes which would explain why it's showing twice. Either remove the code in the postbit or set Auto Edit Postbit to no. Or vise-versa.

Sorry, but what is auto edit postbit? Never heard of it and searching didnt help much....
Log into your admincp >> vbulletin options & scroll down untill you see vbmoods by zone365.com. highlight that and press edit and ensure that Auto Edit Postbit is set to no. Alternatively, if this is set to no, ensure you have not inserted the code twice in the postbit/postbit_legacy template.
You should have been in the options menu already when you first enabled the script so you may have selected the Auto Edit Postbit selection to yes and still applied the code in the post template when you didn't need to.

Did you just upgrade? If so, you'll have to redo the manual edits to your templates.
i updated like a couple of weeks ago at 3.8.0's release, but a few days ago i had the vmoods mod all over it like white on rice.. but now its gone, dunno what i did but manual edit templates, i tried editing a few places to see if i can bring it back up, think you can help me determine where it should be at?

If you don't still have it on your hard drive, download the add-on from here again and follow the instructions in the installation file. That tells you exactly what and where to do edit.

the thing is i uninstalled and reinstalled the same thing over and over again, nothing changes and it doesnt show up at all... think you can make a instruction with where to go and fix templates edit and add??, the one that came with it.. doesn't tell me nothing i think it would help lol... makes it easier

Yeah, I'm having an issue too where I have it installed. I can see it in the navbar, and even see the images when I go to select a mood. The problem is that it doesn't actually let you select a mood. Maybe this will be fixed in the 3.8 version release... I really want to use Shelley's awesome mood images. :P

Thank you for the suggestion but it didn't make a difference. I think it might be something conflicting in the database, I'll have to get access from my web host provider.

Have you enabled it in your ACP?
I have a question - its installed fine on my main template but doesn't show on another (the moods do but you can't select any on the Aria template)
Is it possible to add it under quick links on the 2nd template without it affecting the main template?
Thanks :)

I am getting a JS error from this script.
YAHOO.util.Dom.get("vmoods-mine") is null
It's resulting from the following snippet in the vmoods.js, and appears to be because the JS is being run on all pages -- even when there is no mood selector.
if (YAHOO.util.Dom.get('vmood-mine'))
{
if (YAHOO.util.Dom.get('vmood-mine').src)
YAHOO.util.Dom.setStyle('vmood-mine', 'opacity', 0.25);
YAHOO.util.Dom.get("vmood-mine").className = 'vmood_mine';
}
How do I tweak this?

Hello sniper,
will this be an update to the 3.7 line? Or will the next release be a brand new release for the 3.8 line? I read somewhere that you were writing one up for 3.8.
Regardless of that, Nice work I don't think there's any other script on here that has demanded my time (in a good way) so I'll end by saying keep up the good work and to suggest could you take into account larger moods and resolving the alignment issues in using larger mood icons in your next update/release.

I had to work with some styles that had the pmwarning in the header rather than in the navbar so what I did was add this plugin code to the product-vmoods.xml underneath the existing navbar code and reinstall.
Use at your own risk, no support offered as this is a temporary fix until Sniper updates.
<plugin active="1" executionorder="5">

show the mood menu in all pages header

<hookname>global_start</hookname>
<phpcode>if ($vbulletin->options['vmoods_active'] && $vbulletin->userinfo['userid'] && !in_array($vbulletin->userinfo['usergroupid'], explode(",", $vbulletin->options['vmoods_usergroups'])))
{
if ($vbulletin->options['vmoods_auto_navbar'])
{
$search_html = '".(($show[\'pmwarning\'])';
$vbulletin->templatecache['header'] = str_replace($search_html, fetch_template('vmoods') . $search_html, $vbulletin->templatecache['header']);
}
else
{
eval('$vmoods = "' . fetch_template('vmoods') . '";');
}
}</phpcode>
</plugin>
Take note that it uses the same settings as the autonavbar and for it to work you'd need to have 'Auto place the menu under the PM area' to on in VB Options.
I also removed the phrase My Mood because in the style I was experimenting with it had 'My Mood' too far over to the left away from the mood images.
Hope that helps someone.
blaize
06-06-2009, 12:47 AM
I should add that you can add the plugin though the admincp manager, add new plugin too. Just copy the existing 'show the mood menu in all pages', give it a new name & in the code swap 'header' for 'navbar' so that 'search html' part of the plugin looks like this;
$search_html = '".(($show[\'pmwarning\'])';
$vbulletin->templatecache['header'] = str_replace($search_html, fetch_template('vmoods') . $search_html, $vbulletin->templatecache['header']);

I think you need to go into the mod options in vb options and adjust the css menu settings because the mood gif you're using looks slightly bigger than the ones that came with the mod.
You can set whether to display the mood as text or graphics in the drop down menu on the mod's options page too.

DOH! on the vboptions. I didnt look hard enough.
I added a
before my navbar but i think its the table size that surrounds the log in breadcrumb information that needs to be made bigger.

Here's a possible feature, although I'm not sure if this is still being worked on. How about a feature that allows certain usergroups to set moods for other users, such as those that can't be selected. Then, you could have say, a 'banned' mood or something embarassing for trolls.

Without stating the obvious, your saying that it's the recently joined? do recent registered members have to activate their account? maybe, you've disabled the moods from view for the users awaiting activation group?
edit: That is your issue. I've just registered and could not view or access the mood untill I activated my account. What I suggest you do is use a markup for the users awaiting activation group so you know who are the members who haven't activated their account, and that they should activate their account so you know yourself the problem lies on their end.

Shirley, I have one more problem now though, when members visit this page to check if there are any unread posts:
http://www.codershangout.co.uk/search/new/ (http://www.codershangout.co.uk/search/new/)
When members click on that but when there are no new posts the mood icons dissapear, and im not sure why, here is a screenshot:
http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/4065/imagelatbzu.jpg
Also the avatar reverts to the default one, which is the one you see in the screenshot, but when you revert away from this page: http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/4065/imagelatbzu.jpg everything is normal, the avatars and mood start working again, just seems to be a problem on that page.

Unfortunately I had to uninstall this mod. I got it to work OK in vB 3.8 after a lot of beating and banging on it, but recently found some Javascript errors related to it when viewing my site in IE.
Hopefully the developer will restart development on it for the newer versions of vBulletin. But as I said, I DID get it to work fine after some tweaking, but I'm afraid the Javascript errors will break things on my site since Javascript stops being executed once an error is encountered by the browser.

The navbar display for mood was displaying correctly in IE6, IE7, and IE8, but not in Firefox.
I tried a few things which didn't work for me, including some suggestions from this thread.
What did work for me was the changing the vmood CSS in Admin CP | vBulletin Options | vMoods by ZONE365.COM to the following:
#vmoods {display: block; height: 15px; width: 72px;}
#vmoods_div ul.vmoods {list-style:none;margin:0;padding:6px;height:200px;overf low:auto;}
#vmoods_div li.vmood, #vmoods_div li.vmood_mine {margin: 0;}
#vmoods-container p{margin:0px; float:left; font-weight: none;}
