Pretty easy, just do this ...

AdminCP > AME CP > Import > "Browse" (select the file) > Click "Import" Button > Confirm on screen info > Click "Import" Button > Imported like a charm!

Upload it through there, but its currently not supporting folders that have spaces in them. For exampe if you have an Account and have a subfolder like "My Pics" and another "Everyone" you can post up the videos from the "Everyone" subfolder, but those from "My Pics" wont show up :( ... I'm working on a fix for it now, will upload in a bit

I cant reproduce this. It works fine. Furthermore, AME wouldnt doesnt do stuff like URL1 and URL2. It looks like some other mod you have installed.

IO - the ones you seem to be having problems with are add-ons that other users have done. Ill look into them when I have some time - but I can't comb through everyones :)

The only one Im wondering about is the metacafe as that is default. Can you post some examples of the URLs that are not parsing?

The blank item looks like an import or item that was created/edited with no name. Either edit it and put a name in or delete it.

the Yahoo! Videos RegEx that was created does NOT work ... It plays the same video, no matter what URL you put, so for those who have that one installed, I would disable it by uncheking the "Active" option until a fix for Yahoo! Videos is released.

Okay so I'm trying to work on the fix for Yahoo! Videos for AME, but I highly doubt it'll be possible to support Yahoo! Videos because we need two things in order to get the embed to work and display the video, but the URL's only provide one of those two things. Let me explain ...

We need to retrieve the vid= (which is 744707 for this example) and that's great and no problem as we can do that with RegexBuddy, but the other part we need is id=, which is not in the URL, so how can we get it? Any ideas? The id= information can be found on the Video's Yahoo! page under the <embed> code they provide in the "Add to Site:" section.

Anyways, if anyone has a solution for this, then let me know cause if not, then Yahoo! Videos is out the question for this Hack. The only solution I can think of right now is for The Geek to add some more coding into the Hack so that the server will request the Yahoo! Video Page and find the contents of id=, then recreate the URL so it includes that information.

PS. For DailyMotion it would be the same exact thing, it wont work unless we can get this Hack to request the Video Page and find the contents of the information needed that's not included in the URL already.

The pages ARE requested at parse time IF the option to resolve titles is on (and the server config allows it). I suppose I can try to come up with a way to extract the embed code... I just have to figure out how to impliment it as a standard feature. I suppose I could have an additional (optional) regexp for extracting page values.

It would be awesome if you could make the additional regexp to extract the <embed> code from the page if the information is not included in the URL and have this be an Optional setting in the AME CP ... If you want, you could take a look at passiveVid's code as the author made it to request the information for Yahoo! Videos since they dont contain the id= in the URL. Let me know how that goes ... Thanks again for the support for this Hack ...

Well I decided to edit my HTML Container so that its a Collapsible Box, instead of just a box ... This way the user has the option to hide/unhide the videos located on the page. If you want to have your AME Media Boxes be Collapsible replace the following in the "Settings" Option of AME CP.

As far as gamespot support ... they have way too many different links for different types of videos hosted, some of the links do not include the information that is needed in the embed code, thus not making it work ...

Thank you Danny, it worked for me. I just installed AME on a new forum of mine. Showthread.php came up blank over and over again until I disabled AME. I seen your post and on a hunch I edited the plugin. Now it works great! Thanks Again :)

As an FYI, I updated the package to address the occasional php reference error. If you manually applied the fix or are not having problems, don't worry about updating :)

The only change is to the product xml so upgrading means only re-uploading the product xml.

Nevermind the above, the reason was that when I uploaded the product (per instructions), it re-added all the sites that came default with the Hack, so I just deleted the ones that were doubled and it fixed it ....

iogames, yeah Nix fixed it and added it to the AnyMedia BBCode Hack and so did Coders Shack for passiveVid ... I'm just waiting for The Geek to add it to this Hack as I prefer to use this one rather than the others. In worst case scenario that The Geek doesn't add the necessary extra coding to support those other sites, I'll just uninstall this hack and go with one of the others ... I guess patience is the key here, The Geek already said he was working on it, but has a lot of other things he needs to do, plus he is leaving for vacation ...

Just edit the item and put it in the embed code. Ill see if I can get it rolled into a release before I leave on vacation.

FWIW: I have Yahoo working now. It requires the Resolve URL Title setting to be on (and to function). It should now work with any site where the URL does not tie directly to the embed code. Im running some more tests before I release it. I should have a fully working version up by tomorrow night.

The Geek, that's awesome news that you got Yahoo working along with the others sites that the URL doesn't work directly with the embed code. One question, what do we put/add in the RegExp for the sites that require the ability of the hack to request the page and get its contents in order to work? Or does it recognize those sites automatically? Anyways, can't wait to upgrade when the New Version comes out :up: ... Great support, I must say!

Oh and small request, doubt it'll be available or added, but cant blame a guy for trying, right? :D ... Anyways, I wanted to ask, would it be possible to have the Resolve URL Title option, be a per video site setting, rather than globally? The reason I ask is because well I wouldn't want to have the Title Option working for any of those sites that don't require it to work (ie: Google, YouTube, PhotoBucket, etc) simply because it makes loading take a lot longer and its not needed - I would only want to have the option of Resolve URL Title active for sites like Yahoo! or Dailymotion, that need it activated for the URL to be captured and added to the embed code correctly ... @Danny: There is an additional setting that taks an optional regexp to extract the embed code from the destination page. In the next version, yahoo and dailymotion comes with the package so you can easily see there how it works. I have also implimented the ability to do a page extraction on a per item basis. The page extraction AND the resolve URL setting must be active in order to extract the embed code from a page (in this case yahoo and dailymotion).

I modified nothing. Just installed and imported some other Videsites. Rebuild posts. No matter what i do, if i edit a post, the link shows only html or the Code (if i dont want to have the "Contain".)

RELEASE NOTES FOR VERSION 1.2

I have released version 1.2 and this post contains important information regarding upgrading from previous versions.

All existing AMEs will be removed by upgrading to this version. If you have custum items, I would suggest exporting them before you upgrade. This was to necessitate updates of the original definitions and to ensure the plumbing for the new features was up to date. You will need to re-import your additional definitions after upgrading.

If you import any old items, you will want to ensure that their individual settings to Extract Destination Data is on (as well as the global option). Otherwise they may not fetch the titles.

New features:

AME now has the capability to extract embed codes from external pages. This is important for some services like yahoo and dailymotion as their URLs alone do not provide enough information to create the needed code. This facility requires that you enable the 'Extract destination' setting on (this used to be called the 'resolve titles' setting. Also note that while there is a global setting for this, each item can override the global default. This setting will need to be on globally and on the item to extract the page title and any embed code for relevant items. I know this sounds confusing, but it is actually quite straight forward :)

I have included 3 new services in the package: Yahoo, Dailymotion and Amazon. If you have your Extract Destination setting off, Yahoo and dailymotion will not function.

I have also enhanced all of the default regexps to accommodate URL variations better

Please note that I will attach 1.1.3 to this message for history sake. This is an older version than 1.2 :)

Hey Geek, I just installed the new version by uploading the product file through ACP, but DailyMotion and Yahoo! Video is not working. I get a blank white screen for DailyMotion videos and Yahoo! vids come up as nothing but the container.

I have Extract Destination set to yes in Settings, but I don't see the setting per individual item. I do have Active Set to no to prevent AME conversions and Contain Set to yes to wrap the matches in your container HTMLset to yes, though.

I think you may have uploaded the wrong version. When I import C:\Users\Home\Desktop\AME1.2\product-automediaembed.xml it shows it as version 1.1.3 in the product manager.

Oh, btw.. the titles are being fetched.


Edit: It works now. I didn't know I was supposed to re-upload the files. Still says 1.1.3 in the manager.

YES. It has a conflict with vbux/vbPlaza. I disabled vbPlaza and it worked. But i cant disable vbPlaza for it because its very popular...

@Silence - that is what I assume. Not sure how the HTML could only partially stream so I have to assume that it is with the browser. Try snagging some embed code from a page youre having probs with, paste it into a standard html doc saved to your desktop and view it there. See if you get the same results.

@waste - Thats not a suprise. That system is ripe with bugs. Wish I could help you with it, but I cleansed it from my system (sad as it was a popular add on for one of my sites)

Hi, this is probably not worth mentioning but after my shared hosting moved my website to a new server (same domain, new IP) I was unable to get into any threads (although we could still post new ones) until i disabled this hack.

Soon as i disabled everything returned to normal, i uninstalled then reinstalled and its back working like a charm again.

Just thought id mention that in case anyone comes across the same problem.

Other than that slight hiccup, this is a fantastic mod, im over the moon with it :D

Hi, unfortunately that is something I cannot control. If you look at every page from Stage6 you see that the title is "Stage6 ? Video_Name_Here" ... Because of the "?" in the title, it shows up as &middot; on your Embed Code. Stage6 would have to change their code if this is something that you do not want to appear on your Forums. Although, there a solution ... You could simply uncheck the "Extract Info" option from the Settings for the DivX Stage6 Videos, and it will display "DivX Stage6 Videos" on the title, instead of the Title of the actual video. Hope that helps you out ...

Nix, I'm sure it might be doable, but not from my point of things. The Geek would have to modify the hack coding for it to happen, as from the user level (managing the AME CP) that is something that cannot be changed.

It wasn't supporting all of LiveVideo's Links and CurrentVid Links weren't working properly. Now it's fixed. Before you re-import manually delete the other ClipShack, CurrentVid, and LiveVideo Files that are installed already under the AME CP > Display section (if you do not do this you will receive some display errors). jasculs, re-download Revver.xml, go into your AME CP and delete the Revver that appears there, then re-import the downloaded file.

1) Admin CP > AME CP > Display > Find "Revver Videos" > Delete

2) Re-Download Revver.xml > Admin CP > AME CP > Import > Import Revver.xml

PS. I know that the video id was the the first set of numbers not the second one, I ignored it when you mentioned it before. I found a small bug on the RegEx that was causing your error, its fixed in the new uploaded Revver.xml on Post# 379 ...

Finster, what do you mean when the player stops working? Could you explain a little bit more in detail what the problem is and how I can reproduce it? Also to see which version of AME you're running, do this:

AdminCP > Plugin & Products > Manage Products > Find "AME - The Automatic Media Embeder" > Look in "Version" Colum for Version Info

I have a thread with each xml made to date for this posted , You have to be a member to see it tho ,

To get this thread to work i had to use the links to the video sites from all different areas and not just on the URL bar .

I need to go in and try to redo the ones where i used the embed code now that HTML is turned off to see if the link in the url bar works ,

WE REALLY need to make this to where the End User can use what ever link they want to ojn the video sites and all the unneeded stuff drops off ,,,, Cant You Do it ?

Most of my users are not puter savvy , When wanting to post a video on the site , The Obvious Choice on there behalf would be to use the EMBED code to Embed it in there posts.

Its just one of them things that make since .

Sometimes when they do this the AME makes 2 videos in the same post of the same thing

Ill Request that all xmls that are submitted to be formated with the proper code to allow end users to use any link available on the specific video site to identify the file .

In the mean time i will post a FYI to only use the links in the URL , But you know how the FYIs go its going to come up sooner or later

Delete the old GameTrailers .XML that you Imported from your AME CP and install this one (see attachment). It should work now, sorry about that.

Cant get this to work as expected. If I post a new thread or reply it just shows the link (I have vbseo, so it shows the link with title etc). If however I edit a post and strip out the [url= etc. BBcode it works as expected.

I've searched and read this thread through, but I'm still no clear if this is vbseo causing this, and if there's a combination of settings to use as a workaround?

Now, this is an awesome hack, it's a really huge time saver and beautifully executed! BUT, how can I prevent AME from processing an URL in case I simply wanted to have the standard link shown?

Sometimes this is quite useful in situations where download versions of higher definition are directly linked with a videofile.

BTW, is it possible that the administrator could post videos anywhere, no matter which forums are open for AM embedding?

lowey, If you desire that the Link is not parsed into a Video Player you simply unselect/uncheck the "Automatically embed media (requires automatic parsing of links in text to be on)." option that is located under "Additional Options" when you create a New Reply/Thread (by default it is checked for the user) ...

BTW, is it possible that the administrator could post videos anywhere, no matter which forums are open for AME embedding?
As of now, this option is not available, but it is something that can be added easily (I believe) by The Geek ... You would have to wait for him to come back from Vacation and see if he wishes to add this option to the AME Hack ...

I tried those links by doing a new thread and posting them, doing a quick reply and posting them, and doing a regular reply to a thread and posting them and ALL worked. If the Regular Reply is not working for you then check to see the Hacks that you've got installed that affect that template and try disabling them and see if that's the case ...

I use it as a BBCode on my forum. (url). It allows you to just place a digg image with the url to the website and a digg button below it, so you can click the button to digg, instead of having to go to digg's website and digg it.

I have a few favours to pull, and this is a very promising hack. so I will get a few fellow geeks to work on a FLV, SWF, MP3-WAV- and all relative image formats for auto embedding. If all goes well they may be able to add a DIVx compatibility. the DIVx all depends on how annoying the auto plugin procedures will be for the users.

You'll need to wait for The Geek to come back and grant you permission, but to tell you the truth, they dont really need to do anything (as far as changing the Hack's Code) The way this hack is made it allows for users to add support to sites/content using the Import System and uploading an .xml file with the correct RegEx's ... I have sourced the problem and its not with this hack.

I forgot i did an update with the moods hack at the same time i was doing the add-on for this hack as previously mentioned. After turning off all products, the posts reapeared, and when i diabled this hack the problem remained.

After turning off every hack one by one, I finally found the problem. Always the bottom hack in the list.. :(

So I will be reinstalling this hack and hopefully I can find out the problem in the other hack's thread.

As far as the Sevenload and My Video being the same, that's not true ... Its just that the 3rd Post on this thread (which should contain all the Supported Add-Ons) is filled with incorrect links ... Finster, no idea what you're asking ... if you want to set the width or height for a certain Video Site to a certain amount, just hit the "[Edit]" button next to the Video Site on the AdminCP > AME CP > Display Setting's Page and under the Replacement Code (where you see the Embed Code) look for those parameters and change them ...

I get these errors. When I do the trouble shoot test. And when I try to just a regular post, i get a white screen. My forums are basically fine, and the threads do post, but they do not convert into videos.

here's the type of url I used:

I tried posting direct without going through a preview but it still displays it as a link instead of embed.

irishblue, that's because the Yahoo Videos current do not support Videos outside US I believe ... yours contains "hk" in front of it ... It might be a quick fix, but without RegExBuddy I cant do it ... sorry ...

Although, it can be used for other Sites, but in order to work their link must contain the Actual Video URL Link in the Address Bar ... So in order to display that transformer Trailer you would have to use this link: http://images.apple.com/movies/dreamworks/transformers/transformers-tlr4_h.640.mov, which can be found in the Page's Source Code ...

FreshPrince, it's might possible, but pretty tricky as those videos require the user to choose a Video Player before being able to watch it. We would need to first choose one either Windows Media Player or RealPlayer to use for this Hack. Then, we would also need to use the Extract RegEx function to set this up (I do not know how to use it still, so cant help you out). Finally, you would need to figure out which "Link" would be posted into the Forum Post, as those videos do not provide one. It must be a link that can be used with the Extract RegEx function ... Like I said this one will be quite tricky, but might be possible with the correct RegEx's ...

Underlab, I would love to help, but I have no idea why that's happening for you ... I'd say wait for The_Geek to get back and let him help you figuring this error out ...

TrIn@dOr, I cannot see that post/thread cause I am not a member on your Forum ... But I put the link on My Forums and saw what you were trying to point out. The reason that's occurring is because the Trailer is in 16:9 Format, so you would have to modify the QuickTime RegEx. Simply go to AdminCP > AME CP > Display > Quicktime Movies > [EDIT] and under the Replacement Code change the "width" and the "height" attributes to your desired ones ... Note that the width and height attributes appear two times under the "Replacement" Code section and must be changed in both places

JeepinJeff, its working for me ... Are you sure that you've uploaded all the files on the "Upload" folder to their correct destinations? Also, make sure that you imported the product via the Add/Import Product feature of vB.

Okay guys, small problem ... I was using RegExBuddy Trial Version to add support for AME, but well the trial version ended today. So I wont be able to add anymore RegEx/Support for AME unless someone is willing to buy the license for it, which is $39.95 USD (www.regexbuddy.com) ... I quite frankly am not gonna spend any money on buying it, so sorry guys ... I was working on a MP3, WAV, SWF, FLV RegEx, but I cannot finish it without this software ...

Anyways, regarding adding the AOL Videos from the link you provided I think it can be done - to make sure I would have to check if the link that a user posts to a certain video contains the "{param}" that you see in each of those Embed Codes. If it does, then I can add support for it - If I had RegExBuddy. Now, if the links do not contain the "{param}" portion, support can still be added, but that wont be until The Geek explains the use of the Extracting RegEx feature on AME.

rickyreter, to change it so that the Video's Title does not show up on the Post do this:

AdminCP > AME CP > Display > Uncheck the "Extract Info" Box for those you do not want to display Titles for.

Please keep in mind that as of NOW Yahoo Videos & DailyMotion Videos MUST have the "Extract Info" Box Checked, or they will not work.
