I agree that this is an awesome hack ... If you get me some Vid Links and an Embed Code for RedLasso I'll see if I can get it to work ... I see that its in Beta right now and you can only access the site via Invitation ...

First to say, this is a great and very useful mod. It perfectly matches the need of showing videotutorials in my community. Might there be any chance to integrate www.sclipo.com (http://www.sclipo.com)?

I would love to display those videos like this one (http://sclipo.com/video/environmental-speed-paint) in my forums as well.

Well, you have to create the video on your computer, upload it to the service of your preferences, then retrieve the embed code to your Forum...
There's a FREE tool in www.download.com to 'Record' your screen meanwhile your doing your DEMO/Tut...

Sorry I have tried to find this by searching / in the help but cannot seem to work it out.

My members love this, but they want to know how they can link to those pages without it auto converting them. I tried to argue it posts a link with the video anyway, but they claim that not every time they want to show someone a video is an embedded video desirable.

Is there some way they can post a link, without it auto embedding if they choose?

iogames, yeah I guess vB.org could do that, but I doubt they will. Anyways, as far as where you send the donation to buy RegExBuddy - I really rather not get anything into my PayPal Account. Reason being I dont know how many people are willing to donate towards the fund for it. Everyone wants support for a specific site, but none of them want to chip in any money. If you gave me some money for it, then who knows how long it'll be before someone else gives money for it ... What if I never get the complete $39.95, I'd have to refund all the money back and it'll be too much of a hassle. I personally am not buying it or spending money out of my pocket because 1) I dont have the extra cash 2) I dont need AME to support any other site and 3) I am gonna be doing the RegExs for you guys for free, and I shouldn't have to spend money on getting the program.

WEBclay, yeah support for that can be added, if someone buys RegExBuddy and after The Geek explains the use of the new "Extracting RegEx" feature in AME

DiesellMinded, I've said it like a million times already ... buy a RegExBuddy License ...

harley_m, tell your users to uncheck the "Automatically embed media (requires automatic parsing of links in text to be on)." Checkbox that's under "Additional Options" when they hit "Post Reply" ... By default the box is automatically checked, they need to uncheck it if they dont the video links to be changed into the actual videos.

cynthetiq, wierd ... I get the same error when posting the following into a Post ... I guess the error has to do with posting a Quote that contains a inside of it ... Here's what I posted to get the error, maybe The Geek could use this for troubleshooting of this bug/error:

When including a video file directly; I got a blank page on this line. Not sure if it's an issue on my server or not; but the problem appears to be in trying to open a 30mb .mpg file to see if there is a <title> tag in there.

I installed the hack and worked perfectly until i figured out that if the thread has more than 10 posts therefore the thread is indexed in more than one page it wont work.

I click on the ">" button to see the second page but it just shows me always the first one. I have a SEO hack called vRewrite, if i disable it it works ok.

Do any of you knows a way to get the two hacks working ? I think that the problem comes becuase the AME also attempt to change the url, something like a write rule, and the vRewrite SEO hack also do that, in fact that is what i have for.

Seems that both hacks together messed things up, is there a way to ame does not chage the url (in the browser), cause maybe that #post319 is what is making this to be not working.

Nothing special it is just a social vidcasting about skills like painting, dancing etc. But we use this for uploading our videotutorials so other people can use it too ;)

Okay guys, sorry I havent replied in a while ... I saw some people posted some sites that they wanted support for. DivShare.com seems fairly easy to add, same goes for a few others (but as of now I will not be adding support for Adult Video Sites). In addition, unless I have RegExBuddy I cannot do anything to add support for these sites, so you all will need to figure out a way to buy the license ($39.95 USD) if you want me to add support for specific sites. I have yet to understand how the Extract Feature from AME works, so I cant do the RegEx for any of those sites yet (Break.com, AOL Videos, Slide.com, etc) ...

AOL Video Requires the use of the Extract Feature, like I said before, so still no support for it until I can figure out how it works or someone else does a RegEx for it. Plus I would need RegExBuddy to do it, still dont have it.

Its just a minor error on your part, please check that you do not have two YouTube's under AdminCP > AME CP > Display ... I had the same problem, but that was it. If you have two in there of the same site, then it will display twice on your Post. Just delete one of them and you'll be okay.

I have just set up a new website for bodybuilders and strength athletes which combines the functions of Youtube and Myspace and allows media to be embedded in external sites. This hack allows me to use the embed code from my new website in my vBulletin forum without needing to modify any settings. :cool:
Exactly what I was looking for. Simple installation and works right out of the box. Thank you very much for this one, :up:

I don't see this AmdinCP > AME CP > Import > Browse

All I did, download zip file, uploaded everything as instruction above then import product-automediaembed.xml then i go to adminCP -> AME Settings.

That's all I have and some setting length, Disable New, etc.

What I did wrong here?

Also, what about all xml attachment ?
I did try to import using add/import product, it gave me error

Works great for me on 3.6.8. I added the photobucket plugin today as well per request from my community - it works beautifully.

I initially opted against the Amazon one, but the feedback I got was that people really don't like the crazy long amazon links.

AndrewRHS - it took me a few minutes to figure out importing additional support (like the photobucket add-on I mentioned above). In your AdminCP left panel, you'll notice there's a whole section for AME now. One of the sub-items you can pick under AME is "import". Click that, and there's a form to upload any of the XML files mentioned in the third post in this thread. After you upload it, there's one more button push to enable it - read the page you get after you upload.

I could try, but I need RegExBuddy License, and I dont have one anymore ... I've said it like a million times already. If anyone wants support for a specific site, buy the RegExBuddy License and I'll do it, but without it I cant. It costs $39.95 USD ... chadi, you can edit the way the Box looks in any way you want, to edit the Box or part of it go here ...

AdminCP > AME CP > Settings > Container HTML

The Open is for the Top part and the place where the Video will be displayed, the Close contains the Closing HTML for the Video's Box.

You don't have to wrap anything. It auto converts the URLs without having to add tags everytime. Did you try a YouTube video yet?

Digital Jedi explained it already. This Hack/Mod simply converts the Video's URL (as found in the Address Bar of your Browser) into the Actual Video that is suppose to be seen when you visit that link. There is no need to wrap any text or any code in any type of BBCode, etc. Simply copy the Video's URL from the Address Bar and paste it onto the Reply Box on your forums - its that easy! ... What links have you been trying that you say are not working?

Yeah guys, I'm doing this cause I feel like this is a great Hack/Mod and has a lot of potential. I mean Im not gonna be charging to do the RegEx's for you guys, I am simply requesting that you guys buy the License so I can do them for you guys. Everyone will benefit from this in the end.

I can add support for the sites that you guys want, except those who need/require the Extract Feature from AME - I am still waiting on The Geek to explain to me in detail how to use it. I took a look at the way he did it for Yahoo & DailyMotion and I think I understand how it works, but the only way to know for sure is if I have RegExBuddy. I promise though that if I figure out how it works, then I'll add support for those other sites as well.

Its only $39.95 USD, its not like its the cost of a vB License ... I am not gonna buy it with my own money because quite frankly that's absurd in my eyes. I would be spending my money to add support for sites I dont really even need? That's kinda just stupid, if you ask me. The only site that I want to add is Break.com, but it requires the Extract Feature of AME so I guess that's an incentive for me to figure out how it works, right?

Well, if anyone wants to donate then you can do so by sending any amount of money to shop@talkjdm.com - that's my PayPal ... Once the goal has been reached of $39.95 USD, I'll purchase the license and start the codes, etc. If you feel like donating to me cause of the Sites I have added support for thus far, that's accepted too ;) ...

The thing is I do not understand how the "Embedding Regexp" option works (located under "Extraction Information"). I sat down for about 6+ hours trying to figure it out and was not able to get it to work at all. I guess The Geek will have to either make the Tutorial he promised for it or someone else that can figure it out, tries and gives it a shot.

Anyways, I am asking for you guys to make a list of the sites you want added (besides those listed above), so that I can see if its doable. If so, I would begin working on the RegEx for it and release it once it's done and working. There are wayyyyy too many posts in this thread for me to look 1 by 1 to see which sites you guys wanted me to add, so I'll look at those posts from this point on to see which Sites to add support for, so post 'em up!

CrunchyRoll.com uses JavaScript for their Videos as well as it requires the user to be logged into the site in order to load the video. Basically it would require the use of the Extract Feature from AME plus some other type of coding to try and check if the user is logged in or not. So I cant add support for that one.

BangedUp.com is an adult site - I normally dont add support for those types of video sites. Someone had requested PornoTube and I said no previously. Where will this be used though. The reason I dont support Adult Sites is because kids can have access to your forums and if someone posts a link that auto converts into a Video and some little kid sees that, then you know, they shouldn't have. Anyways, I checked out the sites and didnt see any Video Links, etc? Care to point me in a correct direction? Also, I would need a Forum to test these Adult Site RegExs if I decide to do them - My current Host does not allow any type of material that relates to this type of content and since they are pretty strict with their TOS I dont want to violate it and risk on getting my account suspended.

So if you see a message such as "This video available only on MTV.com, your next video will begin shortly" then that means that MTV has disabled Embedding on outside sites for that specific Video. It will give you the link to view the video on MTV.com.

SWF Files: It will auto convert Files with an extension of .swf ... These can be either files uploaded to your server or on other servers. Simply input the Direct URL to the File (ie: http://yoursite.com/files/video.swf) into the Text Box on vB and it will display the Video.

MP3 Files: It will auto convert Files with an extension of .mp3 ... These can be either files uploaded to your server or on other servers. Simply input the Direct URL to the File (ie: http://yoursite.com/music/filename.mp3) into the Text Box on vB and it will play the MP3 File in a Small Player.

Attached is the RegEx for ehowa.com but please keep in mind that if you use that one, then you cannot use the "WMV Files" RegEx found in Post #595 because it will display an error as they interfere with each other - unfortunately there is no way around this.

brawl-hall.com and consumptionjunction.com cannot be done without the use of the Extract Info Feature, sorry ...

DM, you can do the following: AdminCP > AME CP > Display > EHOWA Videos > [Edit] and change the "width" and "height" to the pixel size you want - you'll find them in the Replacement Code section (where you see the <object> and <embed> stuff).

As far as if you've missed any AME's I have no idea - I did not install all of the ones that were available, for instance I did not know there was one for Long Island, StreetFire, etc ...

DM, yeah if the Video is double clicked it becomes Full Screen, that's part of the option from Windows Media Player - its pretty cool. Oh and yeah you have to change the Width & the Height in both locations of the code. As far as relax.net, it requires the Extract Info feature.

A note to everyone: A quick way to determine if the Video requires the Extract Info Feature is by checking out the Link and the Embed Code provided by the site. If you see the Video's Link in the Embed Code, then I can do a RegEx for it, but if its completely not there at all, then it will require the Extract Info feature and I cannot add support for those sites. I do not know why these Video Sites make it so complicated and not just keep it simple like YouTube does, but oh well ...

chadi, unfortunately GodTube requires the Extract Info Feature for it to work. I had checked it out earlier today as I saw your request post, but didnt do it because of this. Let me explain why it cant be done (unless the Extract Info Feature is used).

If you look at the Embed Code you see that the Actual URL for the Video is:
http://www.godtube.com/flvideo1/34/24081.flv

I cannot create the Actual URL for the Video (Above URL) from the Video's Link via RegEx's ... It would need the feature that The Geek (author of this Hack) added, which is the Extract Info Feature. What this feature does is it opens up the Video's Link Page and searches (with an extra RegEx) for the Actual URL for the Video, so that then it can be added into the Embed Code and make the Video work/show up. I understand the concept and how it works, but not how to make it actually work.

I hope this helps a little so people know which sites can be added and which cant at this point - by me at least.

It works for me. I'm the admin but it doesn't seem to be working for my members. I've checked in the CP and they are allowed to use AME. Is there an issue with the quick post or advanced post? All it's doing for youtube is creating a link.

If your members are authorized to use AME as you say they are, then it should work for them. There is no issue with using the Quick Reply or the Advanced Reply to post up videos. Would you be able to provide a link to a thread where I can see your AME working, but not your Members (same video link, if possible).

I have a problem with daily motion, i choose extraction data in the options, and it seems to embed them but the videos dont start, dont appear also de the play button. Anybody knows why?

DailyMotion requires the Extract Info featured to be checked, for it to work properly, so if I read right you have that option enabled correct? Is this happening for all your Videos Links from DailyMotion or just a specific Video? Can you too provide a Link to the thread on your Forum where this is happening.

Unfortunately, the only person who would be able to help you at that point would be The Geek as he is the author of the Code, but he has stepped away for a while due to personal reasons. If he comes back then he can help you. I think what you are seeking will require modifying the code in some way to add the support for vB Blogs. Anyways, your best bet would be to wait for him to come back and help you out.

JustJon, this Hack/Mod, during Installation of the Product adds a field to the "Post" table in your Database, so considering your forum is a large one then it can take a couple of hours for it to get it done. My suggestion would be to shut down your forums, import the Product, let it take as long as it needs (like I said it can be hours), and then reopen your forums. It is worth it though, believe me - this Hack is awesome and I love it!

chadi, what you could do is set the setting "Follow Forum Moderation Rules" to "No" for the specific Usergroup you want. This will then Moderate ALL of the post made by the Members of this Usergroup by sending the posts made to the Moderation Queue ... You will then have to manually approve each post in order for it to show in the forums. Take into consideration that this will move ALL of the posts they make into the Moderation Queue and not just the ones containing Video Links. As of now, there is no way to only move the post containing a Video to the Moderation Queue ... Its all or nothing basically, so you decide what to do, hope this helps ...

The Geek? After you find the site you want to use and you use regexp, how do you locate the actual player and set it up in the html section.....I spent several hours trying to get a couple of websites to work, and just haven't had much luck.....

Several of the site's that were/are set up from here as .xml's, come out as 2 players and show the code from the html box.....

Any help would be greatly appreciated......

I just have a look at slide.com. I don't think it's possible to make it work with AME because the video code in the URL link isn't the same than the video code in the embed flash link.

Actually...I'm not familiar with regular expressions...I downloaded the trial version of RegExBuddy...but after reading some of the tutorial and how to use it...I just gave up. I just don't feel like racking my brain to get content from joecartoon.com to display properly within my forum.

So, if anyone has any suggestions or can accomplish this for me, it would be greatly appreciated. I know...I know...that and $2.50 will get you a large cup of coffee at Dunkin Donuts, but the truth is...I just don't have the patience when it comes to learning new software.

Hopefully, someone will see this post and have mercy on me.

SKULL1985, per your request (I am sure a lot of people will enjoy these RegExs) I have added both of the requested sites. Please download the attached ESPN Videos and SpikedHumor Videos XMLs and Import them via the Import Tool of AMECP (AdminCP > AMECP > Import). Enjoy!

DiesellMinded, I looked at their code and missed something important - they update their Video Directories on a daily basis. For example one day the Video is hosted in the folder 09030202PM then the next day they host it in 09040517PM or similar folder. If you follow it, the Directory Name changes by Date and Time Access of the Video. So everytime the a Video is loaded they move it to a new/different directory so that people dont do what we are doing, which is Hot Linking and taking their Bandwidth. The only way around this would be with the Extract Info Feature where an additional RegEx would come into play to extract the new directory of the Video each time it's accessed, but like you already know, I do not know how the Extract Info Feature works so EHOWA cannot be supported at this time. I really apologize as I know not many of the sites you have requested have been able to get done due to the need of the Extract Info Feature and you donated towards the license fee, but I have tried my best and have had no luck with the Feature - I just dont get it. Again, sorry ...

cclaerhout, you are correct on both of your posts. First of all, Slide.com would require the use of the Extract Info Feature and at this point I do not know how it works, so I cannot add support for those sites who require it. And finally, yea this Hack at the moment does not work with vB Blogs - that's something that The Geek (author of the Hack) would have to code or do something to accomplish it - I cannot do that.

chadi, I think I am the only one adding Support via XML's at the moment and nope I still dont understand the Extract Info Feature, so GodTube.com cannot be added and will NOT be added until The Geek comes back and either does a Tutorial on how that Feature works or does those RegExs himself. As far as aligning the Video Frame to the Left instead of having it Centered, you can go here: Admin CP> AMECP > Settings > Container HTML > Open ... Now where you see <div align="center"> change it to <div align="left"> ... Hope that helps. Get back at me if it doesnt with the whole code you have in the "Open" Box - Mine is modified, so it may be a bit different than yours.

Now, I think that's everything ... If I missed someone's posts sorry, didnt mean to just kinda busy and wanted to reply quickly ... I was specifically targeting the cartoons...

This actually links to the page where the cartoon is. I'm not sure what the link would be for the actual video of the cartoon. I'm pretty sure it's Flash...but not sure how to code it.

Mr.D, possible? Yes. Can I do it? No. I have been trying to understand how the New Extract Info Feature from AME works, but have had no luck. The reason I wanted to figure it out was because of Break.com, for the most part, but I cant seem to get it to work like it should or get it to work period, lol. So, like I've said before support for sites that require this feature cannot be added (by me) and will not be added until The Geek comes back and either does a Tutorial on how that Feature works or does those RegExs himself.

@DannyLoski: First of all thanks for all the work. I assume you've got the money you need? If not, post/pm and I'll send a few more $ your way.

Second, I would like to suggest you release a seperate Hack as an add-on for this one. This way you can keep track of all the regex releases in the first post so we can keep up to date on what's avaible, etc. You might even zip them. ;)

And lastly... is www.collegehumor.com a doable version? Seems to have the video id in the embed code.

btw. i have a a q.

i am not familiar with the other video sites besides google, youtube and myspace that the mod comes packaged with. do those sites have strict content rules as well? i have installed this mod in my forum which is a religious forum. and we dont' want any adult/pornographic type stuff. so if it turns out that maybe "bolt" or "dailymotion" or those other sites do show such content. then i might have to remove this. is it possible to limit the sites it works with? i just found out metacafe has adult content. so i would not want ame to bbcode that.

would appreciate any ideas/comments/replies/thoughts. thank you again.

My SQL server is quite fast, let me tell you :D , the load on the (Xeon with 2 giga RAM) server goes from 1.2 to 7.5 during the never ending installation, something is wrong.

May be it's due to the 2,600,000 posts ?

Tact7626, simple solution to delete those Sites that you do not want AME to process ... Simply go to AdminCP > AME CP > Display > *Look for the Video Site you want to Remove* > Select [Delete] from the right hand side > Confirm Deletion by clicking "Yes" on the next screen and you're done!

Sergio68, this Hack/Mod, during Installation of the Product adds a field to the "Post" table in your Database, so if your forums are large then it can take a couple of hours for the installer to get it done. My suggestion would be to shut down your forums, import the Product, let it take as long as it needs (like I said it can be hours), and then reopen your forums.

Jay Bomb, Here's the info ...

How-To Install these XMLs:

Download the .XML File
Open up your browser and go into your Forum's Admin Control Panel
From the left hand navigation go to "AMECP" and expand the Box
Select "Import" from the expanded list
Click "Browse" and Select the Site's RegEx you want to add to your AME
Click the "Import" button and let the page load
On the new loaded page, make sure that all the settings are like you want them to be and reclick the "Import" button
After a successful import you should see a message saying "Imported like a charm!"

Subah, I'm having some issues understanding what you mean ... Are you referring to the Video Title that shows up above the Embedded Video with a Link to the Site's Video Page on your Post or are you referring to the Video URL? Your problem has something to do with Arabic Characters in the Video URL or in the Video Title? Please explain a little more and also can you give a Video Link to see it and test it on my Forums. This way I can understand what you're referring to better. Thanks.

I'm not 100% sure if this Hack will interfere with the vB Anymedia BBCode Hack, one quick way to test it would be to install this Hack and place a link to a YouTube Video Link inside the [media] Tags and then placing another YouTube Video Link as a normal link so your can then see how the Post shows up - Please show me a ScreenShot if you do this. As far as the other question, no you do not have to convert your old posts/tags if you do not want to, but if you dont the Videos wont show up, unless you do not uninstall the other Video Hack.

all the urls i put in work fine except youtube it doubles up and shows the vidio twice?

liveling, google, yahoo they all show just once but youtube shows teice one on top of the other. seems like double coding or somthing and i have no idea how to fix it lol.

I know i asked earlier and found out this week that the geek has some personal stuff going on.
So i have a question for anyone that has had any luck with the regex stuff.

I have been working on alot of different media tags and i have a problem trying to grab the actual media player.

This code is for break.com, and i realize that it is a hard one to work with, but i am trying to see if we can get some type of tutorial going for those that would like to learn to work with this awesome mod.

Here is what i have done with break:

Replacement
The HTML to use. Note the backreference! <object width="464" height="392"><param name="movie" value="http://embed.break.com/MzYyNjc4"></param><embed src="http://embed.break.com/MzYyNjc4" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="464" height="392"></embed></object>

and if you go to your site with the above, and place in any break url, you will get the player and it will only play: MzYyNjc4

My confusion comes by the way of the $p1 , where, how and why do you use this?

It doesn't seem to matter what video program i work with, i can get the regex to work enough to show a player, but once i try inserting the $p1, i get nothing. What exactly is need to force the embed player to work with the $p1, with ANY of the url's we have used lately?

here is another one i was working on, but yet, i can't figure out where to put the $p1. The way it is set right now, it will play the video as i have it, but it will not let me put in a different video.

john_robot, ClipShare requires the Extract Info of AME and at this point no one knows how to get it to work, so support for that site cannot be added until The Geek (author of hack) comes back and explains it.

carleboy, sounds like you have 2 YouTube RegExs installed on your site. Try this: Go to AdminCP > AME CP > Display > Look to see if you have 2 "You Tube" installed, if so then > Select [Delete] for one of them > Confirm Deletion by clicking "Yes" on the next screen and you're done! This should fix your problem ...

hotwheels, please read This Tutorial (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=1279365&postcount=87) on RegExs it will help you understand them. You are getting some stuff confused from what I can see on your posts. In addition, Break.com requires the use of the Extract Info Feature of AME, which at the moment no one knows how it works except The Geek. You will not be able to get Break.com to work at all until he explains it when he gets back.

Thanks for the reply Dannyloski and i did read over the basic tutorial. It doesn't cover the use of the $p1 at all. I have gone over that tutorial till i was blue in the face. That's why i was hoping to get other member's together that have learned this set up, so that we could build a large AME database......

hotwheels, I had a almost an entire page written with help on how the $p1 feature works and the electricity went out, I'm not gonna rewrite it again right at this moment, so when I get a chance I'll rewrite it. Sorry, but I got some other stuff I need to do. I suggest you take a look at some current RegEx you got on your site and compare the RegExs to the Embed Code, so what the $p1 does from what you can see, it's self explanatory. It basically contains the unique key or something for each video and with the RegEx you create you are able to extract it and use it for each video on your embed code.

That is a different mod called AnyMedia and it also uses highslide to expand the thumbnails.

I can't seem to get this to work what so ever. Everything is enabled but when I copy any video link into a post and preview it then all I get the the link. Don't think this is what is meant to happen.

WarLion, as of now there is no way to make it unavailable on the [Code], [HTML], and [PHP] Tags - It would require additional coding by The Geek and as you can see he's not available at the moment. Sorry.

All you should have to do is open the folder, say "incluces" and upload it's contents' in your includes folder. You don't upload the content "includes" folder itself. If that makes any sense.

Hi mrphotomantim. Once you've unzipped the files go into the Uploa folder, then go into the Forums folder there you'll see: 3 folders: admincp, images, andincludes. Upload them 3 folders to your main forum directory.

So I think that we just need the Regex expression in order to make it working with AME. Please try to find the Regex code.
