I found three files in my /forum/vbseo_sitemap/data which look to be the sitemaps;

sitemap_index.xml.gz
sitemap_2.xml.gz
sitemap_1.xml.gz
sitemap.txt.gz

But I cannot add any of these into googles webmaster tools 'add sitemap'. Can anybody tell me were I am going wrong?

Boots,

do you have a new entry in reports list after manual generation?

Bacon Butty,
I have tried forum/sitemap_index.xml.gz and /sitemap_index.xml.gz but it isn't accepting it?What is the error you get?

Bacon Butty
07-19-2007, 08:46 PM
Thanks iojan for trying to help.

Basically when i put sitemap_index.xml.gz in the google sitemap i get;

General HTTP error: 404 not found
We encountered an error while trying to access your Sitemap. Please ensure your Sitemap follows our guidelines and can be accessed at the location you provided and then resubmit.

When i put this in the google sitemap i get;

forum/vbseo_sitemap/data/sitemap_index.xml.gz

The Sitemap must be located at http://www.mysite.com/. To add a Sitemap at http://www.mysite.com/forum/vbseo_sitemap/data/, first add that site to your account and then click the Add a Sitemap link beside it.

Any ideas?

Is there/will there be any functionality to automatically exclude threads and forums that aren't readable to unregistered users? I've manually excluded most of them, but there are still some remaining and more will accumulate over time. I don't want Google wasting its time looking for things that, once it's parsed the <meta> tags, it will discover it's not supposed to index anyway.

Bacon Butty,

what is sitemap URL you are submitting?

Simetrical,

all non-visible to guests threads should be excluded automatically. Make sure that you use the latest version of vBSEO Sitemap Generator.

I didn't look at whether the threads were being excluded, but I saw that the forums themselves were being provided. That would, I guess, just lead to Google/Yahoo! getting a permission error. For instance, it included forum 151 (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=151) (the admin forum) from my site. I excluded that, and a bunch of others, but it still includes the ones I didn't specifically include even if they're passworded or otherwise hidden. For instance, the URL http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=252 is passworded but still available in the sitemaps at http://www.twcenter.net/urllist.txt.gz (and presumably the Google site maps too).

Is it closed for reading for "Unregistered" in usergroup permissions?

Simetrical
07-27-2007, 02:29 AM
Sorry, it seems I was mistaken. Forums set to be unreadable to unregistered users don't show up, as intended. There's no problem there. Passworded forums do seem to show up, but that's probably good (actually there's a passworded forum I go to that I tend to find by Googling its name). No complaints from me, then, thanks a lot for the extension.

wow, this hack really made things easy. I've never been able to create a sitemap before this hack! It was too complicated but now I got it.

Can you believe that Google picked up 383 of my forum URLs over 2 weeks but after I sent that sitemap, it picked up 1152 URLs in TWO MINUTES! f-ing hell, Google used to be the slow one haha.

Thanks for the hack, really appreciated. Although I still have to figure out this Yahoo Appid thing and try getting that to work

It works fine with Zoints SEO, at least without the mod-rewrite option, which isn't recommended in any case.

The yahoo application ID that you applied for? You go back to vB options > vBSEO Google/Yahoo Sitemap Generator > scroll down to Yahoo Application ID, and paste the long ID into the box. That's all.

So is this an unauthentic application ID that I use or does it have to be authenticated first?

just one problem.. it takes the urls for the sitemap from only non restricted topics.

That's the way it should be. Spiders, like Guests, are not logged in members. If Guests can't see a thread, neither can spiders.

To include those in a sitemap would be asking spiders to crawl threads which in fact they will never be able to "see".

When I look at the import xml script in the cron section here is what is in there:

It looks like the task_vbseo_sitemap_log entry is missing stuff - there's no /phrase and nothing to be added.

I know it's a late reply but I ran into this as well. You are using a slave database server right? If so that is why. Just change the data type to mysql from mysql_slave to import it. Then change it back to mysql_slave once imported.

I am running this on two different sites. Both are giving me database errors when I run the gen with "Include Show Thread Pages" set to "yes". If I disable that, the map is created with no problems. Any ideas here?

It gets to this point and gives a database error:

[SECTION START] showthread [0s (+0s)]

***update***

I did some testing and noticed that if I disable "Smart Priority for Show Thread Pages", but leave the "Include Show Thread Pages" enabled then I do not get the error. So it seems there may be a problem with that priority feature???

iojam - Thanks for helping me sort this out. Our replies have been spread over a few pages so I'm going to delete/reinstall and let you know what I've done and what error(s) I'm getting.

First, my forum is in the boards/ directory, it is not in the root directory. Not sure if that's what's causing the problem. Everything seems to be there, it's just looking for it in the wrong place.

Ok, uploaded the contents of the "upload" folder to boards/ directory. Chmod'd the boards/vbseo_sitemap/data/ folder to 777. There is not a .htaccess folder in the forum root so I uploaded the .htaccess file supplied. Imported vbseo_sitemap.xml.

Ok, now in the admincp these are the default selections I changed... vBSEO Installed set to no, Auto-Notify Yahoo set to no, entered password for vBSEO Sitemap Interface Access Password.

Now to Google...

I enter my site as http://www.veggieboards.com/boards/. The seo admin says my sitemap url is http://www.veggieboards.com/boards/sitemap_index.xml.gz so I entered sitemap_index.xml.gz but when I enter that I get a 404 error.

So long story short I guess that's where I'm at right now. When I run the task I see the files being created, I just can't get the right URL in to Google for some reason.

Michael2
08-23-2007, 10:15 PM
Ok, I think this is the url I need to submit to Google...

http://www.veggieboards.com/boards/vbseo_sitemap/data/sitemap_index.xml.gz

But it's looking for the files here...

View errors for: http://www.veggieboards.com/sitemap_1.xml.gz

They're actually located here...

http://www.veggieboards.com/boards/vbseo_sitemap/data/sitemap_1.xml.gz

How do I get it to look in the right place? If it's the .htaccess file what exactly do I need to put in there? And does it go in the root directory or in the boards/ directory?

Delete any references to the sitemap from your .htaccess file.

Delete any references to the sitemap in your robots.txt file.

What this add-on BADLY needs is an easy way to prune all the outdated reports it leaves behind, without having to go through a gazillion screens.

Even better would be to have it automated so that it only keeps say a week's worth.

The only reason would be to encourage even more spammers to sign up and never post anything just for the privilege of dropping a link back to their sites in the member profile. The best thing you can do is NOT include that in the sitemap and in fact shut it off to viewing for everyone except logged in members.

Unless you've done something non-standard, .htaccess points to a file in a subdirectory of /vbseo_sitemap/ - specifically to /home/psychlin/public_html/forum/vbseo_sitemap/data/.

If the top folder is password protected, I don't think the subfolder is accessible.

You're right. I thought it was working but didn't realize it was working because I had entered my password. :o
And to show my other dumb observation. I guess once you use your password to go to the report page, it is stored.
So I guess people don't have access to the reports page afterall.

That's correct. It's only stored on your computer - or more naccurately whatever computers you use to access the site.

ThorstenA,

try to remove all files from vbseo_sitemap/data/ folder.

1996 328ti,

vbseo_sitemap/ interface pages are password protected (password is defined in the options), while your sitemap files and logs data/ folder has "deny from all" in .htaccess by default.

*cough* This isn't vBSEO. This is a free add-on developed by the same people but it doesn't require vBSEO, doesn't require payment, and doesn't add any "branding" or even credit links when installed.

Yes, I'm sure they offer this as an advertising/marketing strategy and I'm sure they hope that you'll like this add-on enough to look into buying their other product but it's not a requirement.

I would not suggest to allow search engine bots visiting your threads while requiring registration for regular visitors since that is "cloaking":

thanks dear

but plz help me

he said that

I had modified my .htaccess file to solve canonicalization problems by redirecting :

redundant URLs to new URLs
non-www URLs to www URLs
index.php to root
I theorize that since these redirections involved hundreds of URLs it?s possible that when I deployed the changes in my .htaccess file in mid July, it triggered the ?increase? in concurrent connections as the bots were redirected to the correct pages. In other words Googlebot attempted to make 2 connections for every page - once to the old/non-www URL and then to the new/www URL. As the concurrent connections increased, it triggered the automated mechanism that blocked Googlebot?s IP address. This in turn caused more time-out errors. The spikes in the Googlebot Download Time chart (above) indicates long download times which eventually ended in timeouts. Unfortunately, this affected one of the most important files - the robots. txt file - which every bot needs to before it accesses a site?s pages. These time-outs also made my sitemap inaccessible, so since Googlebot could not access these 2 important pages, it could not confirm my site still existed!

what should i do??:(:(:(

I don't think you understood what I was saying. This sitemaps add-on doesn't leave footer links anywhere. Those links come from vBSEO. If you want to get rid of those, uninstalling the sitemaps add-on won't help. You'll have to uninstall vBSEO.

baghdad4ever,

the conclusion in that post was:
Our firewall has an automated mechanism which will block IP addresses deemed to be making too many concurrent connections to our server in a short time. Our security department has whitelisted the google network range that is noticed to make these connections. On top of that we have made the firewall less stringent in the sense we will allow a higher threshold of concurrent connections compared to previously. Based on your feedback, the configuration is just right.Please check that with your hosting support.

toejam,

chmod 0777 means changing file access permissions (you can do that using your FTP software).

CraiovaOnLine,

you should submit http://www.sitename.com/sitemap_index.xml.gz (without vbseo_sitemap/data/), make sure that you created .htaccess as described in installation instructions.

Installed it, generated the report but the .htaccess file I'm required to upload makes the sitemap 403 (forbidden):

http://www.domain.co.uk/forum/vbseo_sitemap/data/sitemap_index.xml.gz

I try:

http://www.domain.co.uk/forum/vbseo_sitemap/sitemap_index.xml.gz

..but that doesn't work either (404), same with..

http://www.domain.co.uk/forum/sitemap_index.xml.gz

Everything installed correctly as per instruction but outside of installation there's no real FAQ for stuff like this, help appreciated.

I finally figured out why the mod couldn't see my sitemap, it's because on 1&1 servers you can only execute rewrite rules from an .htaccess in the root where your domain is attached. Dumb but true, so I ran a test in a test sub-dir and this worked:

RewriteRule ^test/foo.html /test/bar.html [R]

However the vBSEO Sitemap code still doesn't, even when adjusted to the forums DIR:

RewriteRule ^((urllist|sitemap).*\.(xml|txt)(\.gz)?)$ /forum/vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=$1 [L]

Maybe it's because I need a /forum in the first part too but this stuff isn't exactly easy to understand. Suggestions?

UPDATE:

Ah this fixed it.

RewriteRule ^forum/((urllist|sitemap).*\.(xml|txt)(\.gz)?)$ /forum/vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=$1 [L]

I'm adding some lines to enable VBSEO. My .htaccess file in my forum root is as follows:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^((urllist|sitemap).*\.(xml|txt)(\.gz)?)$ vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=$1 [L]
<IfModule mod_security.c>
SecFilterEngine Off
SecFilterScanPOST Off
</IfModule>

When I make this modification
really bad things happen :

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /forum/showthread.php on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Google couldn't reach your siştemap because of a temporary error on your side ( pprobably your sie was down ) it will fix itself automatically

@wacnstac

check the attached file to first post

@tictic

You didn't chmod 777 data folder and files inside data folder

@wacnstac

Do you have any other code inside your .htaccess ? If yes can you paste it here so we can check what the mistake is.

Lizard, I initially tried that order as well with the same results. Seems like there must be something I'm missing in how I'm editing .htaccess files.

It may be something related with your host. I advise to contact them and ask information regarding the problem because it looks like on some step there is a huge problem with server setup.

i need some help, the instructions say to upload the files to the forum root, and I do that for the "includes" folder, but not so sure what to do with vb_seo folder? is it because I don't have vb_seo or etc? Confused as usual :p

Lizard King
09-26-2007, 03:47 PM
You shall upload all the files inside upload folder to your forum root. It is very clear what it says.
The vbseo_sitemap folder shall reside within your forumroot . The files inside includes folder shall go insşde includes folder.

BlissfulErin
09-26-2007, 03:57 PM
I've done the includes folders just fine. So your saying the files in vb_seo don't get uploaded seperately, I should just use ftp and upload the whole vb_seo folder to the forum root?

the godaddy team says :
At the present time, our Linux shared servers are using Zend Optimizer 2.5.7.

hello. hoping to get some help. i hope my question isn't too complicated and has an easy fix.

i don't think this mod is working correctly and i'd like to know if someone could help figure out where i messed up so i can correct it and have it working properly. :p

heres my htaccess which is in my forum root which i got from the mod zip file.

RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^((urllist|sitemap).*\.(xml|txt)(\.gz)?)$ vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=$1 [L]

i copied over this same file over to my normal /root directory just in case.

i followed the instructions contained within the file as carefully as i could, and double checked everything. but am still are unsure of myself because i get 404 errors when i go into the admincp to check the sitemap reports and click on "show sitemap downloads log" and "Your Google Sitemap Index URL: http://legionofangels.net/forum/sitemap_index.xml.gz
" which i have no idea why they are there because whenever the cron job runs and outputs the file, its ALWAYS inside:

/forum/vbseo_sitemap/data

would greatly appreciate it if someone could tell me what i did wrong. and if someone could help me to further test my setup to convince me beyond a shadow of a doubt, that it is indeed working and doing what its supopsed to be doing.

thanks you very much.

DMI get 404 errors as well as soon as I change the .htaccess file for this mod.

Almost the same with me. I have my forum in root directory. When I was add those two lines in htacces, I get SERVER ERROR in admin CP. Of course I had htaccess before becouase with him I regulate which php version I will use, becouase I have more option.

Even didn't came to the step where I must install thing. I was changed htaccess, after that I get server error, edited htaccess, deleted all thing? So this thing, cannot work with custom htaccess file?

Tact, If you have vbSEO installed, the support over there is much more instant. (vbseo.com) They have a support area too where u can fill out a ticket.

Your sitemap appears to be showing up correctly.

Did you chmod 777 the /data/ folder within your /vbseo_sitemap/ ? All the data and log files go into the /data/ folder.

Ugh, I swear I've followed the instructions and still can't get this to work. I'm submitting http://www.veggieboards.com/sitemap_index.xml.gz and getting a 404. I half to move the files from the .../data folder to my forums root folder manually to make this hack work. I have tried everything to allow google to access files from the .../data folder but still no luck. Let me know if you figure it out. I even tried to modify the sitemap_config.php and still no luck there either.

When I try to run the site map generator it does a few lines then says database error. Why is that?

I to got this error :( I have had a good search but couln't find the problem.

EDIT:
OK got some of my problems sorted!

cjshirlaw did you make the same mistake as me? At the bottom of the vbsoe settings page there is a box to input the file names of the add ons. The first time i tried this i put the file name followed by .php. For example vbseo_sm_downloads.php .this gave me a database error I then decieded to take the .php out and it ran ok
(Question? When you run the program it shows a load of text and at the end tells you the files have been created but there is no "proceed" or "next" button I have to manually go back to the main page by typing in the addy bar. Is this right or is there something wrong?)

Question? When the process is done i can go back to the vbsoe page and see that the file is created I also get the email to say the file is created but when i use my FTP app ( I use fireftp for firefox) to look inside the folder i can not see the file! Should this be the case?

Question? The file is not automatically sent to google ( i haven't checked yahoo yet as i dont know how) I had to manually add the file via my webmasters account.! ( In my email it says "Google ping: Successful.
Yahoo ping: Successful."
So why is it not sending the file? :(

Sorry for the long winded post but i do believe that the more information provided the easier it is for the helpers to help and it also helps people when they are searching for similar problems

One feature I really like is the ability to designate where the sitemap should be located. My sitemap has always been created in the /forum directory and listed the path as such in the xml file, despite all my redirect efforts. All I had to do was type in my root domain and now the <loc> is listed as http://bike-talk.com/sitemap_index.xml.gz instead of http://bike-talk.com/forum/sitemap_index.xml.gz

Thanks guys, great job!

If you run VBAdvanced and have it in your root folder (forum in subfolder) is it better to keep the sitemap it generates in the subfolder or to place it in the root folder. My thinking is its better in the forum folder because the urls all relate to the forums. However all the content on the root is via vbadvanced and thus comes from the forum so does it help site seo overall by having it there.

Advice?

Can it be a mod_rewrite problem?

I have VBSEO's .htaccess file. Do I have to add the two lines of the Sitemap Generator's .htaccess file to it?

I have some advice for those on IIS and then a question for the experts:

If you are on Microsoft/IIS/ISAPI:
.htaccess is not recognized. Instead, I created 3 text files in the root directory. Then I renamed them to match the filenames in the data folder (ex:sitemap_1.xml.gz). Then I right clicked on these files, then selected Properties. Click the radio button for redirect, then enter the path to the real file in data. Do this for all 3 files.

When complete, I suggest you go to a browser and enter the URL's to confirm the redirects are working.

On to my question:
I have about 1000 pages that are in the same directory as my forum. Any way to get this software to spider them and add them to the sitemap?

Thanks,
Danny

I'm not sure if it's a coincidence or not but since installing this my indexed pages on Google have climbed from about 209,000 to 716,000. Definitely recommend it. :)

Yes, it works with 3.6.8

Another tech note:

Careful not to use ampersands (&) or "greater than" (>) signs in your extra-url file.

You can input ampersand as &amp;

Also, make sure you check the validity of your sitemap file with Google.

I'm using downloadsII mod on my site, so I included the downloads2.php file in sitemap, however I'm getting database error while generating the sitemap
...
[addon module] vbseo_sm_downloads2.php [114s (+0s)]
Database Error Database error

can anyone please confirm that the addon is working with the latest version of downloadsII ?

Thanks

here is the working one for latest version of downloadsII:

replace vbseo_sm_downloads.php file content with:

$mods = $db->query("SELECT id,name FROM " . TABLE_PREFIX . "dl_cats ORDER BY `id`");
while ($mod = $db->fetch_array($mods))
{
$url = $vbseo_vars['bburl'].'/downloads.php?do=cat&id='.$mod['id'];

if(VBSEO_ON)
$url = vbseo_any_url($url);

vbseo_add_url($url, 1.0, '', 'daily');
}

$mods = $db->query("SELECT id as fid FROM " . TABLE_PREFIX . "dl_files");
while ($mod = $db->fetch_array($mods))
{
$url = $vbseo_vars['bburl'].'/downloads.php?do=file&id='.$mod['fid'];

if(VBSEO_ON)
$url = vbseo_any_url($url);
vbseo_add_url($url, 1.0, '', 'daily');
}

changes in file are:

file_cats -> dl_cats
file_files -> dl_files
order by `order` -> order by `id` (not sure about this one but it's working)

and here is the code for vbseo_sm_download2.php with optimized links:
(should already have custom rewrite rules for downloadsII in vBSEO control panel)

function ez_seo($ezlink){
$ezlink = preg_replace('/[^a-z,0-9\.]/i', '-', $ezlink);
$ezlink = str_replace('---', '-', $ezlink);
$ezlink = str_replace('--', '-', $ezlink);
if ($ezlink{0} == "-") $ezlink{0} = str_replace("-", "", $ezlink{0});
if (substr($ezlink, -1) == "-") $ezlink = substr($ezlink, "", -1);
return strtolower($ezlink);
}

$mods = $db->query("SELECT id,name FROM " . TABLE_PREFIX . "dl_cats ORDER BY `id`") or die(mysql_error());
while ($mod = $db->fetch_array($mods))
{
$url = $vbseo_vars['bburl']."/downloads/".$mod['id']."/".ez_seo($mod['name'])."/";

if(VBSEO_ON)
$url = vbseo_any_url($url);

vbseo_add_url($url, 1.0, '', 'daily');
}

$mods = $db->query("SELECT ff.id as fid, ff.name as fname, fc.id as cid, fc.name as cname FROM " . TABLE_PREFIX . "dl_files ff LEFT JOIN dl_cats fc ON ff.category=fc.id") or die(mysql_error());
while ($mod = $db->fetch_array($mods))
{
$url = $vbseo_vars['bburl']."/downloads/".ez_seo($mod['cname'])."/".$mod['cid']."/".$mod['fid']."/".ez_seo($mod['fname'])."/";

if(VBSEO_ON)
$url = vbseo_any_url($url);
vbseo_add_url($url, 1.0, '', 'daily');
}

example output for file: TeSt - FiLe in category (HOT) SeCtION

category: domain.com/downloads/1/hot-section/
entry: domain.com/downloads/hot-section/1/123/test-file/

to change the format of output, just play with $url

Note: ez_seo function only works with English names & characters

what exactly is the db error message? (you can see it in page's html source or receive notification via email)

one of the errors:
Database error in vBulletin 3.6.8:

Invalid SQL:
SELECT id,name FROM file_cats ORDER BY `order`;

MySQL Error : Table 'hub_ezforum.file_cats' doesn't exist
Error Number : 1146

as I probably stated, the error message came up when I tried to include DownloadsII plugins, (vbseo_sm_downloads2.php OR vbseo_sm_downloads.php)
I guess your files are outdated because they have wrong field and table names, so as I posted here (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=1383426&postcount=432), when I changed the table names, it started to work perfectly

What a great business plan. give away a free really useful mod but only allow it to work with the product you are selling! Gets my vote :D

Heres me spending all my time trying to get my users to click through google ads, hands up to you guys, its a good plan. I wish I had thought of it ;)

Once I get enough cash together I think I will go for the VBSEO. Anyone recommend it before I buy?

AFAIK, you can install and use this without vbseo installed - as long as you set the correct option in the mod settings.

It IS a standalone add-on. You do NOT need vBSEO to use it.

However, at least one of the options in settings is different depending on whether vBSEO is installed or not.

Apparently you do not need vbseo to install this, there are nulled versions of vbseo out there but the support is not good as you rely on people who are getting nothing out of it and if you get a problem you pretty much have to fix it yourself. I have a legit vbseo and must say that if they want to continue charging what they do for their product they need to improve support. You will get a problem fixed if you have one but it can be a day or two before it is done :down:. Sorry but if I am paying $150 + for something I want better support than that.

I had to add some more to my htaccess file, I added...

# Comment the following line (add '#' at the beginning)
# to disable mod_rewrite functions.
# Please note: you still need to disable the hack in
# the vBSEO control panel to stop url rewrites.
RewriteEngine On

# Some servers require the Rewritebase directive to be
# enabled (remove '#' at the beginning to activate)
# Please note: when enabled, you must include the path
# to your root vB folder (i.e. RewriteBase /forums)
RewriteBase /

RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^forum\.yoursite\.com
RewriteRule (.*) http://forum\.yoursite\.com/$1 [L,R=301]

and it worked. Dunno why but it did.:rolleyes: This suited my setup so I guess you would need to change it to suit your own.

When I run the scheduled task with the blogs option activated I got an error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function vbseo_any_url() in (forum home dir)/vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_sitemap_functions.php on line 424

That line is:

vbseo_add_url(vbseo_any_url($vbseo_vars['bburl'].'/blog.php'), 1.0);

The function vbseo_any_url doesn't seem to be used anywhere else in the mod (I did a cat * |grep any_url), and I tried just removing it, and the mod worked just fine (the blog urls are included).

Maybe that function is defined in vbSEO as proposed before in this thread, but this line is executed even if you set "vbSEO installed?" to No. There are plenty of functions with similar names defined, like vbseo_url_thread, so maybe they forgot to implement that one? Or to remove it from that line if it's deprecated?

Well, at least in my case, the mod works just fine with blogs and without vbSEO installed just removing the reference to that function.

Yes of course geevest they are the same coders :) vbseo product is just not free where the sitemap plugin is for all that's why they share it here with vb registred members, but if you dunno vbseo, I'd suggest you to start looking at it, sitemap is just an "option" to me to this excellent product to make your forum search engine friendly and increase ads revenues ;)

There used to be at least one other but the link I had is now a GoDaddy parked domain.

There are, of course, several general XML sitemap generators you can download and run from your desktop (manually) - not as convenient, of course, but it may be a way to generate and upload sitemaps periodically until you can arrange new hosting.

Thanks people :)

Just wondering if this would work as ive had it suggested to me:

Sitemap Files URL
Enter the url to use for sitemap files in case if you want to specify non-default URLs. For instance:
http://www.example.com

Leave this setting empty to use default vB url.

I haven't tried that - I left it blank. But I assume you can use this to specify where you want the sitemaps stored?

Although, looking at it again, I'm not sure that isn't to tell the add-on to create a sitemap for a different domain?

Worth a shot, anyway.

I'm having the same problem as described by others in this thread with this mod.

Whenever I try to run it I get the error message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function vbseo_any_url() in /home/[edited]/public_html/forum/vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_sitemap_functions.php on line 424

Interestingly, it seems to work fine when I turn the "Include Blog Pages" setting to "No".

Please modify vbseo_sitemap_functions.php file.
FIND:
vbseo_add_url(vbseo_any_url($vbseo_vars['bburl'].'/blog.php') , 1.0);

REPLACE WITH:
vbseo_add_url(VBSEO_ON ? vbseo_any_url($vbseo_vars['bburl'].'/blog.php') : $vbseo_vars['bburl'].'/blog.php', 1.0);
