more ranking? No way!

A 1.000.000 posts threads = server killer

server no repsonse = nobody wants to visit

idea = crap ;)

(sorry for the last line, but it was just a funny continuation of my post)

This is great because it boosts your stats and people prefer high stat forums and more traffic = more ranking = more money = more trafic = more ranking = more money ... it just keeps on going and going, there is no physical limit to the size of your forum!

Higher traffic itself does not generate income unless you use the stats to encourage advertisers. Frankly, if you asked me to pay to advertise on your forum that had this sort of content just to boost stats you can guess my answer. Think again.

Fine just close the thread if you dont like my attempt to help people.

it is not "helping people", it is just a suggestion for a detail...

this is like "hey, spam all your friends to join your forum, it will help you for trafic"... this is not friendly at all, and this can be bummer... you will loose your friends too.

This is a Post Wh*re game. There are several you can start for them to 'play'. It will keep your PWs posting, but don't forget about the real reason for your site - you need to keep their interest there too.

Luky - you may as well just get a dam job if you are after some money.
But if you are going to start a forum, make it good not a spam junkyard.

1. I have a job.
2. Forums are not free. It would be nice to get some of the money back out of the forum to help pay for it and other addons possible aswell as some paid advertising.

It was just an idea, no need to flame me, one person said it was a crap idea, isnt that enough? -.-

Hey everyone lets be nice here. this thread was a simple suggestion that he offered to all of us now if you dont like it then just read it and move on but there is no need to flame him for posting this. Lets try and be friendly about it rather then rude and scare members from ever posting and idea again:(

Can you repost what you said prior Luky? I wouldn't mind reading what you said, no flaming/bashing from this end.

Well that's alot of tracking for the system to catch it...

Wanna start a thread on this in the other forum area? I'm game on a new hack already! I will jump on it, I just released a nice hack for large forums the other day, first time out of a couple years finally I came clean and did a give-back rather than shopping @ thinkgeek.com...

That would make no sense, as could be replying to something else then the quote you used.

Well thats why there is gona be an option to enable or disable it in the admin CP! :P Or perhaps have the normal Quote bbcode but add a Livequote bbcode so they have the choice? :)
