VB Image Hosting Version 1.0.1

This is the port for my hack to vb 3.6.x
check it for vb 3.5.x here (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=106127)

A New installer replaced the old one so you should not face any problems with database

NOTE :
People who were using vbimghost in vb 3.5.x and moved to vb 3.6.0 MAKE sure that you have vbimghost 1.4.1 Since this port will only support upgrading from that ver only
People who do a fresh install use this ver.

Requirements:

requires GD 2.0.1 or later (2.0.28 or later is recommended).
PHP ver 4.3.x or later (newer ver is better).
Introduction:What does it do ?

Admin can set the number of images/users per page.
Admin can mange images uploaded by the members
Admin can set the default upload permission
Thumbnail system admin can turn it on/off.
Allow multiple uploads.
Admin can set upload slots for each group
Admin can recreate thumbnails from admin cp
Fully using the phrase system.Time required to install
1- 2 min max.
Update instruction :
Just replace the old files with the new ones and import the product file don't forget to select overwrite.

History:1.0.0:

inital release contains everytverg in 1.4.1 ver.1.0.1:

1.0.0 : 3886

Screen shscreenshot.zip
screenshot.zip.

NOTE:
before you post any error here :
Set that path to your forums correctly in the vbimghost options.
if you getting the error ""supplied argument is not a valid"
that's because you didn't set the path correctly

And for all the people asking when is the next release it will be in 2007 not this month .. due to some problems in real life ..

this seems to work great. i have a question though. when trying to "View all user images" from the Nav bar, no images are showing up. Instead I get the message

"No user found"

I have uploaded a few images through my account, my account is admin and the admin usergroup "Can administrate images" button is checked

In there you can only see images set to public view only

if you want to see all the users images you have to go to the admincp
it will show you public/private images

Hello Ranma ,

Please let me know what i can do now , and from where i can find the 1.4.1
well you deleted the table and old stuff was removed
you can fix it if you reimport the product xml again in the mange product setting
but the old images is lost.

if you have a backup
restore the table again and install this https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.phpt=106127

it will install 1.4.1
then uninstall it then install the one here
the port is only supported from that ver only as it says in the install.htm file

ForYou,

in the install.htm
Upgrade (from VB 3.5.x) :
In order to upgrade to this version Make sure that the version that the old forum using is at least 1.4.1 ( older ver won't work )

this file is for new installation and upgrading from ver 1.4.1
you had ver 1.0.2 which is very old

if you don't want the old images
Just reinstall the hack again and it will work with you.

Not sure why but the old error message shows up:

$bbuserinfo[username], you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

This has the image attached to it - http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1185425&postcount=1

As it stands, this is the global no permission error, and if I remember correctly, it isn't right as it still shows $bbuserinfo[username] and this is why it's come to my attention again, to test it I disallowed my usergroup to view the arcade and got the exact same message, so it's not just the Image Hosting that causes it, I've asked at vb.com but as of yet no answer....

Thanks for your help, this is a great addition :)

my site is at http://everydayoutdoorsman.com.

It messes with the height of the navbar too, you will see a line at the top and bottom on the side of my navbar. That only happens when I install this.

change the class of that row to your class ...
you are using vbmenu_control_header calss
while the default is vbmenu_control

so your column should be

<td style="cursor: pointer;" id="vbimghost" class="vbmenu_control_header"><a href="#vbimghost"> ..etc continue the rest of the code

This is Style issue

Please specify here only problems with the script it self not styles

This hack is so great! realy! (clicked install), however I must write down some hopefully future option. It would be nice if hack would also have option:

- users can set fotos for view to specific user(s), usergroups... (now is only public and private)

You do this with an FTP client or in a control panel or if you telnet ssh in, you can do this. (but the easiest way is with an FTP client like SmartFTP {Free Software} and you just right click on the folder and select "Change CHMOD")

you set the path incorrectly

/home/alex/public_html/forum/imagehosting/http://boostconcept.com/forum/images/watermark.png) <-- that is wrong

for watermark just put hte name of the watermark file in the filed

and in the path set the just the path NOT the url

Also, I'm making a tons of changes to make it more "pleasing" to the eye, so if you don't mind, I'll be posting some changes that I would like to see in the next release (template and phrase fixes).

One more thing, is there a method to deleting the images from the "imagehosting" directory when it is deleted from the database (like when you click Delete Image from the forums)?

when you delete it
it will delete the file from the folder and the database
but if you removed it from the database you'll have to delete it manually
as for the modification i don't mind i'm already working on some of the request i received

Alright, I got the templates and phrases all worked out. I have attached my fixes and modifications to make them look as close to the default look vB gives as possible. I would really love to see these changes in the next update as they make it look more professional and more like it was integrated into the existing vB styles.

Only problem that remains is the $pages command in the templates.

Template: vbimghost_main

Find:

$pages

Question:

Is there a way to make this not show unless pages actually exist? When viewing the VB Image Host pages, it shows this as a break and gives it a weird look. View the attached screenshot (vbimghost_main_pages.jpg).

it's a problem with MySQL connection

The Row version looks ok and fits the whole table, but the Column version seems to be aligned to the left always. If you could possibly improve this as well, I would (and so would a lot of others) very much appreciate it and it would make the whole system look like it was built right into vB. Keep up the great work, Ranma!! :)

Hello Ranma2k,

Thanks for the help. I should have read previous posts on the same issue.

I've made the corrections. However I am now getting the same error message as Simon above. My instance is quoted below and it occurs in IE as well as FF. If it helps any; my sever is running mysql v4.0.18, PHP v4.4.1, gd v2.0.28 and an unknown version of Zend Optimizer.

BTW you've done a great job with this project. One thing that I would like to see added is that instead of limiting the amount of images a member can have. Limit the amount of storage space a member can have, editable in the AdminCP by MBs.

your have open_basedir restriction in your setting ..
i'm guessing your runing it localy on your machine
..
the public_html directoy should be in allowed path setting. ( system wise )

if it's in your server contact the server admin and ask him to add the path to your home directory to your allowed list.

your web home directory should be in allowed path
if you have shell access run the command

if not add it ( or ask the system admin to add it )

if you need any help just PM me

as for the size limit i will try to add it

Ok, first off I would like to thank you on your timely responce.

Second; Its running live. I have had to disable Thumbnails and Watermark for now. But I really need it enabled. I have sent a support request to my host.

Third; Is there a way that watermark can be turned on for FREE users and off for VIP members (Paying Users)?

Forth; When I tried modifing the phrase "VB Image Host" to "Gallery" it wouldn't let me and came up with errors. Is there a way of doing this safely? Becuase my Nav Bar(s) are full and I have no room for something that long.

Thanks Renma2K,

hopefully the host will solve it

as for the water mark the next ver will have the permissions based on the groups not global setting
so you can set the vip group to not to use any water mark

as for the phrase it shouldn't give you any problem just make sure that if there any variable in it it should be there ..

if it didnt work try translation ( it did change it and it worked )

what phrase you were trying to change ?

Hi Ranma2k, thanks for the help. I currently do not have SSH access. However, through a little trial and error I was able to figure out the correct path. No more error messages are occuring. Not seeing a watermark though. Might be the same thing as Simon again. I hope to have time to look at it tonight.

Looking forward to the evolution of this mod.

Hello, great product mate, with so much capabilities.

When u say in the admincp Max file size, u mean the max upload size per upload or the uploads all together? If its the first, how we can strict the max uploads ?:)

Also, when u say in the usergroups that the group can Administer images, u mean his images or overall?

Finally, i added the addon to have it display the imagecount on posts. Can i put there a conditional in which will not be displayed if its not enabled through the admincp, for this usergroup? (and also dont show the navbar link too) Can u feed me the code?

Ps

No Comments when u look the other pictures? Shame on you, it a must one feature:P

Ps2

Can i alter the code of the 5 last images, to 2 last images? What code i change?

Ok thank you very much. I have some suggestions for the next version...

Here goes:-

That user watermark/ VIP no watermark one (;
Users (not guests) have the ability to add coments to other peoples Public Photos
Something fixed for the PM system, I noticed that in the postbit I put in My Photos: (*) (* been a number of photos they have uploaded) I noticed in a PM it says "My Photos: ()" attached is a screen shot, that better explains it.EDIT 1:
what phrase you were trying to change ?

vbimghost_title: From VB Image Host to Gallery.

EDIT 2:
I have solved my first issues, I forgot to replace "user" with my Cpanel Username. (Silly me!) This has solved my Re-build thumbnail issue, at the cost of this error when uploading:

in order to view the pics the owner of the image have to set it to public view
if it's privat you won't be able to see it

only admins from the admin cp can view all images public / private

i got that error after uploading a pic, and it was shown on the redirection screen.

I disabled watermark and I dont get the error anymore, so how do i fix this because I really want to watermark.

also I got a request.

Make it so we can set how big the file the usergroup can upload instead of only 1 setting for everyone.

Because I will probably want to make it so guests can only upload smaller pics but then members can upload a bit begger etc.

And also to make the watermark always happen for certain usergroups and as an option for others.
Thanks.

Any chance a "random" function exists? I'm making a box for my homepage that will show some random pics from the hosting.

If it already exists, please save me the time! Or if you can offer any help! Thanks!

Installed, running great - thanks.
Can someone tell me what the query to run would be to remove the watermarks?
Images that have been added to the gallery after the watermark was switched off are fine, but images added before still bear the watermark.
Thanks.

Great plugin!
We installed it on our test forums and after making some minor tweaks we're going to put it live.

Here are a few suggestions, and I saw from your replies you're planning on some of them already:
1) Allow images to be uploaded to a different server or subdomain
2) Show how many times an image was viewed
3) Allow users to comment on images

I may have more suggestions but just started playing with it. Thanks again for this excellent mod.

I have a question. Is it possible to make a link for full sized image to actual image location, not into vbimage hosting script?

For example when I'm entering images into a thread I get this url by clicking on thumbail image:
http://www.someforum.com/forum/vbimghost.php?do=displayimg&imgid=3

But I need to open image from actual location, for example:

Thank you!

yes you can do that

in the template vbimghost_imgbits_poprow

replace the template with this code

<if condition="$counter==$vbimghost['imgperrow']">
</tr>
<tr>
</if>
<td width="25%" align="center" valign="middle" class="alt1">
<if condition="$thump">
<a href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="sendLink('$vbimghost[thumbpath]','$vbimghost[path]', '$vbimghost[imgwidth]')">
<img <if condition="$vbimghost[thumbsize]"> width="$vbimghost[thumbsize]"</if> src="$vbimghost[thumbpath]" border="0"></a>
<else />

I had a couple more questions. They may have been answered in the last few pages but I didn't see them.

1) Users can either delete everyone's images, or nobody's images, correct? It seems if I enable the Administration option, they can delete anyone's instead of just their own.

2) The filmstrip seems to do sort of wacky stuff for me. Maybe it's because the user has only 3 or 4 images, but it shows 2 of 3 as thumbnails, then when one's clicked it seems to show a random number of thumbnails the next time. I might just not understand how it's supposed to work, maybe someone could explain it to me.

admin is for Administrators ( if you enable a group to admin then that group would modify all the image)
any member can delete his image by default.

the filmstrip should show only the images before / after the curent image (based on the number of fields you set in the option) it's recomended to make that number an odd number so it can display correctly

i got one weird problem that occures when people use the quick upload tool within a topic. After uploading an image it places the image on top of the board header instead of in the topic, it doesnt stay after you hit the post new topic button but it doesn't appear in the topic content either.

what did you set the path and the image directory ?!

To clarify, the system is working (the images ARE uploading and displaying), but those erros are appearing in addition.

Reviewing the install instructions, where do I set a path an image directory? There's no mentin here - I quote them here in full (leaving out the template mod bit):

Step 1 ( Backup):
Always Always backup you database . I'll not be held responsible for any data lose .

Step 2 ( Upload Files ):
upload the files that in the folder forum into your forum directory overwriting the old ones.
(./ ) is your forum home directory.
./ vbimghost.php
./ admincp / vbimghost.php
./ includes / xml / bitfield_ao_vbimghost.xml
./ includes / xml / cpnav_ao_vbimghost.xml
./ includes / vbimghost_include.php

Step 2a ( CHMOD DIRECTORY ):
Change the permission for the upload directory to 777.
Note: The upload direcotry is where your files are going to be uploaded to [in the folder here it's called imagehosting]
step 3 (Upload the product):
Go to your admincp under Plugin System -> Manage Products : click [Add/Import Product] and select the file product-ao_vbimghost.xml and make suer that you set Allow Overwrite to YES
Step 4 ( template modification ):

...

step 4a:
If you want some additional stuf you can check section D ( Addons ) such as ( show last 5 images in the profile, number of photos in the postbit ..etc ).
step 5 :
Go to the Admincp and reconfigure the usergroup and the option

Step 6:
Go to Vbulliten.org and click install :)

The only thing I can think you might be refering to is the directory mentined in the AdminCP under the ImageHosting Options - which is entered, as indicated, as "imagehosting" with no trailing slash.

But, to repeat - the system does seem to work, it just throws ugly errors up as well.

toolblast

Suggestion:
I would like there to be comments and rating added to the images when you view them in 'full view' only. This would be great!

IMPROVEMENT:
I have edited the imagebit somewhat. In the original script... all users always see that bbcode, permissions, and other stuff that for the user who owns the photos may be useful, but for other users it just seems to clutter up the photo gallery page in my opinion.

I was wanting something more like Facebook... where if they go to view their friend's gallery... it simply shows a gallery page with a bunch of thumbnails only... no details or stuff underneath. However, I didn't want to remove this stuff, so what I did was edited the template and added an extra condition so that:

1) When viewing photos, if the photos belong to the user that is logged in... they see all that extra bbcode and permission stuff underneath the photo.

2) For OTHER users viewing photos that belong to their friends... they will just see the gallery page with only the photo thumbnails listed.

3) In either case... clicking the thumbnail will open up the main view page and will have the large photo, and will have all the bbcode stuff showing.. but only when the image is viewed in the fullscreen size page.

CODE CHANGES:

OPEN template called "vbimghost_imgbits"

Delete everything in that template, and replace it with this:

just a heads up, you use mysql_num_rows() in your script, which causes breakage when using it on a forum that uses msqli, changing every case of this command to mysqli_num_rows() fixed it on my forum... i dont know if theres a better way other then to manualy edit it tho, ill leave that to you ranma2k

edit: also you use mysql_fetch_array() which has same problem and solution

i've modified the code to automatically use the correct method, attached the fixed copy, can be used on any forum since i've added in the conditional, heres a example of that i've added
if($vbulletin->config['Database']['dbtype']=='mysqli' OR $vbulletin->config['Database']['dbtype']=='mysqli_slave')
$usercount = mysqli_num_rows($result);
else
$usercount = mysql_num_rows($result);

Looks good on your site. But using that as the template gives this result:

The following error occurred when attempting to evaluate this template:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_PRIVATE, expecting ']' in /http/circvs/includes/adminfunctions_template.php(3593) : eval()'d code on line 7

This is likely caused by a malformed conditional statement. It is highly recommended that you fix this error before continuing, but you may continue as-is if you wish.

made a modification that makes it both better and work, only shows the urls if you click on the images or your viewing your images through 'view my images'

That worked - thanks! Although it only works if you select "Columns (new view)" and not "Rows (old view)".

No worries. It wasn't clear to me whether the original suggestion was supposed to apply to both view or just one.

A question that may have been covered, but why doesn't the uninstall remove the database stuff? How does one remove it then?

edit: I see we have to manually remove the DB. May I make the suggestion that the uninstall actually uninstall the whole thing? Otherwise, with all due respect, why have it?

Hi guys. Glad you liked my little mod. I forgot to meantion that yes, it only works in the 'column' view. The row view is a different template I believe.

But if you only have the images and not the 'detail' stuff, then it is probably best to have it in column view since I personally like the look of it better. But it is your preference, if you want it in the row view, on a site with a lot of images and smaller thumbnails it makes the page very large and a lot of scrolling.

Thanks Ryuji for your enhancement of the template, I'll give it a try :)

*update:

Also, I see what someone would want the 'my images' to be in 'row view' or at least not have as many columns.

On my site for example, when I use my template mod imgbit... it just shows the image thumbnails.. nothing else. My thumbnails are set to be small (200x200) about that size... so I can end up fitting 4 images per row.

However... once the user goes to 'my images' and the permission occurs to show all the bbcode and other bits below the thumbnail... it ends up being too wide for each image and 4 columns of images ends up getting too wide and goes off the screen.

My request:

It would be nice to integrate my mod into the product and separate the settings to be for MY IMAGES and PUBLIC GALLERY VIEW. Something like this in the settings:

Public Gallery View:
- show image properties/bbcode, etc? YES/NO
- columns: x

My Images view:
- show image properties/bbcode, etc? YES/NO
- columns or rows?
- columns?: x number of columns.

That way I can set it so that if the user is in 'my images' he/she sees all the extra properties below his/her thumbnails, and there are only 2 columns of images so that it fits my layout. But when OTHER users are viewing that user's public gallery... none of the properties display under the thumbnails, allowing me to set it up to have 4 columns of thumbnails.

Make sense?

How come on my individual image pages, I get the word Array at the top?
Obviously it has to do with the addition of the code in the .php script:
define('VBA_PORTAL', true);
define('VBA_PAGE', 'include');...but why only on the Image Host pages, and only on individual picture pages.
Example (http://www.amacny.com/vb/vbimghost.php?do=displayimg&imgid=12)

if you want to set it up as a module
copy the code of the blugin into a php file and put it into the module folder
and set it up in the vbadvanced

Ok so I tried this and got nothing. Is there a module made by someone to use on CMPS?? I would really love to have a random pic shown. Would especially love if it had a time of once per day.

i might play with the code a bit, but by request would be to set it up so the number of rows/columns is dependant on screen resolution and not a static variable, it should be simple enough, run some javascript to get the browsers size, offset by x pixels and then have it pass the number of rows/columns to the url in the menu bar

Ok here is what I did to try and get random pictures to show for my CMPS homepage:

Copied out the following code from vbimghost_last5forumhome-plugins.xml:

$rec = $vbulletin->db->query_read("
SELECT imgid,imgfile,thumbname,imgwidth,imgheight,imgdate
FROM ".TABLE_PREFIX."vbimghost
WHERE imgprivate='0'
order by imgdate DESC
LIMIT 5
");

$vbimghost['count'] = $db->num_rows($rec);

if ($vbimghost['count']){
while ($row = $vbulletin->db->fetch_array($rec)) {
$vbimghost['id']=$row['imgid'];
$vbimghost['path']=$vbulletin->options['bburl']."/".$vbulletin->options['imgdir']."/".$row['imgfile'];
$vbimghost['dispath']=$vbulletin->options['bburl']."/vbimghost.php?do=displayimg&imgid=".$row['imgid'];
$vbimghost['width']=$row['imgwidth'];
$vbimghost['height']=$row['imgheight'];
$vbimghost['date']=date('Y-m-d', $row['imgdate']);
if (file_exists($vbulletin->options['imgdir']."/".$row['thumbname'])){
$vbimghost['thumbpath']=$vbulletin->options['bburl']."/".$vbulletin->options['imgdir']."/".$row['thumbname'];
$vbimghost['thumbsize']=0;
}else{
$vbimghost['thumbpath']=$vbimghost['path'];
if ($row['imgwidth'] <= $vbulletin->options['imgthumw'])
$vbimghost['thumbsize']=$row['imgwidth'];
else
$vbimghost['thumbsize']=$vbimghost['imgthumw'];
}
eval('$mimghost .= "'.fetch_template('vbimghost_memberbit') . '";');
}
}else{
$vbimghost['more'] = "";
eval('$mimghost ="'.fetch_template('vbimghost_memberbit_noimg') . '";');
}

$vbimghost['last5'] = $mimghost;

I then added pphp tags to enclose it:

<?php and ?>

I then saved it as vbimagehostpics.php and placed it in my modules folder.

Then I made a template and called it vbimage

<tr>
<td>
<table class="tborder" align="center" border="0" cellpadding="6" cellspacing="1" width="100%">
<thead>
<tr>
<td class="tcat" colspan='$vbimghost[count]' align="center">$vbphrase[vbimghost_last5img] </td>
</tr>
</thead>
<tbody>
<tr align="center">
$vbimghost[last5]
</tr>
</tbody>
</table>
</td>
</tr>

I then went back and added a modulee as a php file

Module Title: Random Pix
Column: Center
Display Order: 2
Active: Yes
Update All Pages: Yes
File to Include: vbimagehostpics.php
Identifier: blank
Template used: adv_portal_vbimage
Use Module Shell Template: No

everything saved ok but nothing shows on the main page. What am I doing wrong?!?
