But my members can delete the images freely...

The user can only delete thier own images.
or if they are a member of a group that can admin the images ( they can only admin public images set by the image uploader)

well I'm planning to add a thumbnails in the next release.
Currently it can't be 100% gallery it's somewhat a gallery if you view the list of users who uploaded
The main function of it was to host images not to view them as gallery ..

but I'll keep that in mind in the next release

Well there isn't a free version of a member's gallery yet and I am sure this would be VERY popular if it could do ABOUT the same thing, thanks for keeping that in mind Ranma :D

nice work!

tell me when you try it and I will test it for you..

This looks very nice.

One Question:

Will this hack upload images to a different server other than the one the forum is on?

I have a "media" server that I use for audio and pics that has a differnt ip.

TY in advance!

any reason why my members can not view other members uploads?

when they click on "view all members images" they don't see other members images.

Very cool! Would be great to let people specify X number of photos to display in their profile, with a link to the rest of them.

Would also be cool if admins can specify a .png image to be used as a watermark on the lower right side of each uploaded image. :)

Will be watching this one and will probably install soon! :)

I had to comment this line out in vbimghost.php to get my navbar dropdowns working. Was getting javascript errors before.

$headinclude = str_replace('clientscript', $vbulletin->options['bburl'] . '/clientscript', $headinclude);

if the uploader want the members to see his images he have to set the image to Public
other wise it won't show to anyone else

also is there any way to make all images public?

owner can set it public only ..

When a user upload an image it will be by defualt private .

If you want it all images uploaded to be public by defult
open the file vbimghost.php
and find the line 402

$sql="INSERT INTO ".TABLE_PREFIX."vbimghost ( `imgid` , `userid` , `imgfile` , `imgname` , `imgfilesize` , `imgwidth` , `imgheight` , `imgdate` , `imgprivate` )
VALUES ('', '".$userid."', '".$imguname."', '".$upfilename."', '".$upfilesize."', '".$dime[0]."', '".$dime[1]."', '".TIMENOW."', '1')";

and replace it with

$sql="INSERT INTO ".TABLE_PREFIX."vbimghost ( `imgid` , `userid` , `imgfile` , `imgname` , `imgfilesize` , `imgwidth` , `imgheight` , `imgdate` , `imgprivate` )
VALUES ('', '".$userid."', '".$imguname."', '".$upfilename."', '".$upfilesize."', '".$dime[0]."', '".$dime[1]."', '".TIMENOW."', '0')";

but the main idea is to give your user the freedom to set what ever they want to public view

Couple Of Issues and Suggestions :

I have a different skin, not the default one that comes with vBulletin, in my skin the navbar links are'nt in text, they are in image, I did create and implement image for the image hosting and introduced it there and seems to working fine, how do I get rid of the arrow icon that you have integrated in the id=vbimghost, where can I edit to remove that small arrow, as I have designed a arrow withing the image.

Next, after everything was completed, and working fine, when I click to upload image, view image or perform any operation, i just get same error as that there are no images and something same of the sort.

Once you clear my doubts and this suggestion, I will try re-installing again!

Thanks a lot for this hack, I have been looking for some long time and finally its here, just provide a support for people using images in navbar !

DC

Well what we are looking for is mainly something that members will be able to upload as their own image, anyways thats what im looking for.

This is how I see it could work out with this.

- Members can upload images
- There is some link to all this person's images
- Create thumbnails of these images
- Be able to take some of these thumbnails (ex:5) and put them in a table which will then be able to put in the memberinfo template

If you still have any questions on the features, just ask me, I know that the three are almost or already done... :D

it looks great so far, thanks :D

It would be nicer if the thumbnails would have maintain the right width/height ratio.

Another idea:
* option in admincp to set 'private/public' default per usergroup.
* Link to person's uploaded files
* prevent hotlink outside messageboard
* 'copy' button next to the imagelink (so no select -> rightbutton -> copy)
* show thumb + link right after uploading

I love this hack, and I have installed it on my testing forum...and it works flawlessly. But before I install it on my main forum, I have only one question:

Is there a way to allow users to upload more than one pic at a time? Like as many as 5 or even 10 at a time?

When I install this on my real forum I will happily click install!

great hack, one suggestion though or maybe you can tell me how to this.

It would be nice to be able to limit the amount of space a usergroup can use (say Registered members get 10MB & Admins 50MB), rather then just the number of images they can upload.

Bratzer

it will only set the thump to 320 * 240 if the width or the height is equal or bigger than 320 * 240
otherwise it will show the pic in it's true size ..

if you want to change the value you can do that from the template
in template : vbimghost_imgbits

find :

<if condition="$vbimghost[thumpsize]">
width="320" height="240"
</if>

either change the values or remove it ..

In installation instructions it says /imagehosting/ index.htm as the place to put index.htm

Is this an example of a folder name to create. The one to be used to upload images too???

I did create the /imagehosting folder, in the Forums dir, not the root. Now do I need to also create another one to host the images??

yes you can do that in the template

use the <if condition="$show['admincplink']"> in the tempate navbar

find

<tr><td class="vbmenu_option"><a href="vbimghost.php?do=userlist">View all users images</a></td></tr>

and change it to

Regards,
DC

Hey I was having the same problem, but I figured a way to remove the arrow..
Use this code in the HEADER template:

<td width="65" height="25" align="left" valign="top" id="vbimghost"><a href="#vbimghost"><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_misc]/q_links.gif" alt="" width="65" height="25" border="0" /></a><script type="text/javascript"> vbmenu_register("vbimghost" ,1); </script></td>

Now I have an issue, on the "Upload an image" template, the box "Statics" background is all in black, is there a way of changing this to white or to use my template background?

A bug with the INSERT query. When an image file contains a " ' " character, it results in a query execution error. To fix this find:

$sql="INSERT INTO ".TABLE_PREFIX."vbimghost ( `imgid` , `userid` , `imgfile` , `imgname` , `imgfilesize` , `imgwidth` , `imgheight` , `imgdate` , `imgprivate` )
VALUES ('', '".$userid."', '".$imguname."', '".$upfilename."', '".$upfilesize."', '".$dime[0]."', '".$dime[1]."', '".TIMENOW."', '1')";

replace with

$sql="INSERT INTO ".TABLE_PREFIX."vbimghost ( `imgid` , `userid` , `imgfile` , `imgname` , `imgfilesize` , `imgwidth` , `imgheight` , `imgdate` , `imgprivate` )
VALUES ('', '".$userid."', '".$imguname."', '". str_replace("'","",$upfilename)."', '".$upfilesize."', '".$dime[0]."', '".$dime[1]."', '".TIMENOW."', '1')";

Notice that I've wrapped the str_replace() function around $upfilename to strip out any 's from the file name before inserting it into database.

it will only set the thump to 320 * 240 if the width or the height is equal or bigger than 320 * 240
otherwise it will show the pic in it's true size ..

if you want to change the value you can do that from the template
in template : vbimghost_imgbits

find :
<if condition="$vbimghost[thumpsize]">
width="320" height="240"
</if>

either change the values or remove it ..

if an image is 800 x 800 it looks funny when scaled down to 320 x 240

I personally leave out the HEIGHT

that way it remains a fixed width and have a cleaner look when viewing

I use
<if condition="$vbimghost[thumpsize]">
width="320"
</if> nicer look ( IMO )

did you ever find out an answer? this is a great hack, too bad it doesn't seem to be supported anymore.
I'm Sorry i was away for a while
i have been out of town for almost a month ( or more ) but i'm back and i should continue the support for this

I'm going to work on the next release more and have it ready for public soon

I'm really sorry i didn't check the thread for a while now

nevermind, i found the issue.

I have a lot of secondary & joinable groups. one of them had a the use VB images off and it affected my ability in the primary user group to upload.

is this a possible bug?

OK, mine works since this update! :) There are a couple of minor bugs, like thumbnails not rendering properly, but it's good enough for me to use for now. Hopefully when the bugs are fixed I'll be able to turn thumbnails on.

This is great! Thanks so much!

One thing I noticed, which may be that I just didn't pay attention to some part of the instructions, is that I had to go in and manually set each usergroup to a number other than "0" for the number of uploads allowed. What was happening to me is that *I* wasn't able to upload any images, even though I had set admin, my primary userrgroup, to allow 200 uploads. I was a member of an additional user group that, I chose to not have it override the primary group, however, the "0" allowable uploads did in fact override my primary of 200. Once I changed that number to "1" in my additional group, my number of available uploads went back to "200", which was per my primary usergroup.

I hope that made sense.

I have been unsuccessful in uploading any images. It keeps saying I've already reached my max, similer to #154, but I haven't changed the upload qty from the default of 50.

It's the same for any usergroup who has permission to the mod.

What am I missing?

I have recently installed it on my forum, I am useing vBVersion 3.5.4 and after install I tried to upload image and I get this :
Ruler, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

although I am the admin, plus there is no where where I can see the upload window, and cant find the allow andnot allow upload to user.

there is a control penel in admin control panel --> Vbulletin Options --> VB Imagehosting, but there is no field which allows or not allows the users to have permession to upload or not .

Wish list:

I've been looking around for a way to assign BBcode to a locally hosting image, so that the images could be named or numbered. This way a user could post their favorite image without looking up the image, copy the link and go back to the message.

I'm thinking the syntax would be something like:

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/ or
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/

I realize this may be beyond the scope of this project, but just thought I'd throw it out there.

Just a couple of questions how can I make "View All Users Images" set to admin only so users cannot click it?

And also how could I view the private images in case I ever get a member that is not sticking with the rules and ends up uploading illegal images.

I know I can view them from the server but it would be much easier from the board :)

well the "view all users images" will only display public images set by the owners
if you want to hid the url from the menu

in the navbar
search for

<tr><td class="vbmenu_option"><a href="vbimghost.php?do=userlist">$vbphrase[vbimghost_menulistuser]</a></td></tr>

and replace it with

<if condition="is_member_of($bbuserinfo['usergroupid'], 6)">
<tr><td class="vbmenu_option"><a href="vbimghost.php?do=userlist">$vbphrase[vbimghost_menulistuser]</a></td></tr>
</if>

this will only show the link to the administrators

as to show the private image i'm going to add it in the next release even though i'm against it

Just a suggestion: What about a multi-upload-feature as used for attachments?
It would be pretty hard to upload whole image series when using this single upload.
This feature should have the admin option to set the numbers of files allowed for one upload and specific usergoup permissions, which usergroup should be able or not to use multi upload.

Then there's a problem with the thumbnail function in v1.2: It creates a thumbnail from the upper left corner of the uploaded image in size of given dimensions, not of the full image. The thumbnail still displayed a fragment of the image, not the full "resized" image. Any chance to change this ?

Then there's a problem with the thumbnail function in v1.2: It creates a thumbnail from the upper left corner of the uploaded image in size of given dimensions, not of the full image. The thumbnail still displayed a fragment of the image, not the full "resized" image. Any chance to change this ?

The multi upload will be added in the next release
as for the Thumbnail it was just a quick function I'll be using VB way or make another one
Problem is the short time i have these days because of my work i only be able work on it on the weekends

A suggestion: A feature to add keywords to images (and a search function for them), so you can use it as an image management system for your site (news/reviews/tutorials/...) and you can easily reuse images. Ofcourse there should be an option in the AdminCP to turn it off.

I don't know if this is possible, but I would love it :)

I would definately install if it is.

Nice, works great.

Cant wait for the next version though (ability to upload multiple images at once, and for an Admin to view all private images)

I do have a question though..
Would it be possible to make it so the default of the images is set at "public view", and not "private"? So, the user would have to make it private, instead of public. Thanks.

Alright, I do have an issue.

When I have the "Enable Thumbnail option" clicked on "yes", I get very distorted/discolored images as thumbs.

When I dont have it clicked (when the "Enable Thumbnail option" is set to "no"), it displays the images perfect (i have GD 2+), however, when a user clicks to see any other users images, they get this error.

Warning: getimagesize(ImageHost/thum_1443840c402728.jpg): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /vbimghost.php on line 299

Warning: getimagesize(ImageHost/thum_1443841499c426.jpg): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /vbimghost.php on line 299

Any ideas.

hey mate, I had the same probs... disable thumbnail option in ACP, but set thumbnail size... although this seems weird, if you enable thumbnail, it only shows half of the picture [oh couse this depends on the size], and it is discoloured. So disabling this shows the entire picture, and in the size you set in the thumbnail size option...

now for the error. I asumed I got this because I disabled thumbnails and it was looking for the thumb_ prefex of the file that didn't exist... So i manually went into the .php file and deleted that line of code... i've had no problems since.

I know it's probably a bit of a work-around than a fix, but it works :D

I don't know if this is possible?

Did you revert the templates !?

Revert my whole navbar template? No, because I have other hacks..

I did update them though. Everything works except uploading a pic.

It will check dimensions and sizes, and the directory imagehosting is 777.

:confused:
