I have installed the Private Invitation mod on my forum.

After that I have installed this image hosting script.

Everytime I go to upload image I get the message that I do not have permission.

Where / how do I change or correct this?

Also, I have some sort of mod installed that is a right click, highlighted protection on my boards too for ppl stealing posts/images/etc and all.. But this of course makes it hard for those that use the image hosting to use the link that is given to them after they host it.. Is there any way I can make it where that doesnt effect the pics? or at least where they can highlight the text to get the code to use?

Well, ive sorted my watermark. strange..suddenly it just appears after 1 day of installation.

However, under quick upload. The pictures i hv quick uploaded seems to have and keep jumping at the top of my web page. Why is this so?

Anyone can be of assistance?

Is there a way I would activate vbimagehost into USERCP? It only shows the pics being uploaded. Would be great if there is a function for pictures to be uploaded from USERCP.

Seems to be a bug with this addon and particular .gif files when you have the 'thumbnail' option set to yes.

One of my users have been trying to upload their signature file but it keeps timing out in PHP. I am using the latest build in GD version 2.0.28. Latest version of VB.

The problem code seems to be:

This doesn't happen with all .gifs, just this particular one at the time. Its a 330x120 pixels gif thats 17kb in size.

I've been able to upload smaller and larger gifs though.

I believe I fixed the problem myself. I'm by no means a pro coder, but I did a search and discovered 2 of the functions you used in your code were older ones meant for the original GD library.

I changed 2 lines to refer to the GD2 libraries and now the .gif thumbnailing is working correctly for this particular image.

Here's the updated code:

did you set vbimghost options
and also did you set the permission for each user group

if that didn't work reimport the xml again allowing to overwrite the old setting

if still you don't have a luck PM me with access to the boards and i'll take a look

Did you ever solve this one Ranma2k? I'm having this issue for certain users. I grant image upload through the "Registered Users".

Only one member has reported the issue, but i'm sure there are others. That user's primary group is "Registered Users" but he's in another handful of groups that don't specifically get rights to vbImagehost.

Any assistance appreciated!

I have a problem, I uploaded an image but didnt chmod the upload directory so no image was uploaded but image info is added to the database and a huge red x. When I try to delete this image I get this error:

That mod was originally done to work with VBGallery, so I am sure it may be just some mere codes needed to direct it to your gallery mod instead. It would be quiet helpful to alot of people and possibly be a valuable tool for those people who dont want to dish out the crazy prices of photopost.

this is a good mod but i like many want to use this as an alternative to image shack - ie something similar but on my own domain.

Users being allowed to set private/public and to delete their images causes problems as they might use images in a post and then delete the image, not very good.

So in other words, can we not have the option to make all images public with no option to put them private, and also an opton to turn off the ability to delete them.

Okay.. I'm with the next situation...
First of all, I've got to tell that I'm on a IIS Server as with Safe mode enable on PHP.
Second of all, Uploading works, yet, if I fix the paths it should do the trick to do everything!
Third of all, all links are incorrect according the setup.

Reason:
In options, i've got to set the full windows path on the line "Image path" and then I'm succesfully uploading the image. The downside is, that the links are compleetly incorrect since it shows the entire regular path with included that set windows path.
IF then, I change the Image path to the basic path I can see the images but I cant add images!

So how could this be fixed so that I dont need to alter the image path in order to upload/show images on this IIS server? Because that option is the thing which's denying me of using the vB Image Hosting.

When displaying the most recently uploaded images in the user's profile, is there anyway to change the default number to 3 instead of 5?

When I changed this $vbimghost[last5] to this, $vbimghost[last3], the gallery images don't show up in the profile anymore.

Also, how can I make the default uploading permission public instead of private? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I have created an imagehosting folder in the location above, yes. I've also tried creating it in various other places, and done the CHMOD 777 change.

The path in the VB image host options section is correct too. I don't know what you mean about it being relative and not absolute though, or redirecting it in .htacess! Sorry!

As far as I am aware. Put it this way, I've had Photopost Pro running on it in the past without problems. The hosts messed that installation up though and I was to use VB Image Host as a user based solution and see how it goes until I get Photopost Pro resolved.

This looks like such a good hack too, yet there seems to be nil support from it. Looking through the last few pages, very few people are getting a reply except from other vB forum owners not associated with this hack - or so it seems.

Shame that, because this really does look very useful to me and I'd have liked to get it working.

I have got it running without problems, but this is clearly minor than http://www.photopost.com/ . It is freeware. You need to install the add ons too to get the charme of the software. My forum is only very small so there is no use to install the high score professional software.

I had uploaded a number of images that didn't appear correctly prior to doing this. Now, I am unable to delete them from either the forums, the AdminCP and I can't locate them anywhere on my server. Is there a way of resetting all image links and starting from scratch but without having to locate the dead files?

Using german version, do not know the precise names of phrases in english version.

I'd shorten the code you're searching for. You'll find there may be a minor difference, but by shortening the search string a bit you should be able to find the code in the navbar template that is the one being referred to.

Yes, its working. CHMOD 777 has been applied.

BUT

The problem is getting rid of the images I had previously tried to upload which it is saying are still present and cannot be deleted. I have done a full search of my server and can't find the images anywhere, and I don't want to make the install live until I have it nice and clean, otherwise my users will see 10-14 blank images that will make it all look very messy.

Anything I upload from now on works perfectly though - its just these old images I need to get rid of.

I've uninstalled this now. The sad thing is I'd got it working, but to not be able to remove the errored images is just pointless. I can't locate them and it means I am left with two accounts with dud images against them - so it's gone for me.

The problem that I'm having is that that black area is not suppose to be there. I want it to be white. I don't know why it shows up like this. I have noting in my CSS indicating a black area. This black area is showing in other areas of this script. Just let me know what I can do. Other than that, marked it as installed and works fine for me :p

I'm not sure, but me suggestion is that the watermark shows only on pictures uploaded after setting watermark feature on. All older picture will not be marked.

Do'nt exacly know but this is was I presume.

I have not seen the creator of this hack on here in a while -- but wouldn't it be great if a simple and different image ID was assigned to each image for each user. That way the BB code would only be simple #'s instead of a complicated path... just a thought, I have seen that elsewhere and its really user friendly.

Is there a query that can be run to remove images from the database that don't a respective file?
When our server crashed sometime ago, we lost a few days worth of image uploads, because of that, they can't be removed from the adminpanel OR the imagehosting area, because it tries to unlink the file first, and fails

Hello, I have been reading through the post looking for a solution to $vbimghost[last5]
I would like to only show 3 images in member info. But changing this variable doesn't work. How do I only show three images in member info. It was asked but never answered.

I need this because my thumbnails are large and showing 5 images in member info breaks my width dimensions for my style.

Otherwise this is a fantastic product and really makes it easy for members to attach images.

Looks like a fun script that may be nice for my members but I have two problems with it. Where do I edit to change the name that shows up on the navbar? I would like it to say Image Hosting instead of VB Image Host. Also I would like to know if I can modify the copyright at the bottom of the page from "VB IMAGE HOST VER 1.0.0 By Waiel Eid" to "VB Image Host By Waiel Eid" so it fits in better with my theme.

And now I see that the uploaded pic has user permissions to make each picture in "VB Image Host - My Images" private by default and must be manually selected to "Set public" for the image to be displayed to all members.

Got it to work, I had to put a "." for the filepath of my forums.

I wish you would add a check box system to 'View your images' page. So it is easy to DEL or update private status and add a link to the moderator CP for 'view users images' or 'search users' so they are easier to check for pr0n and bad stuffs. Just a few suggestions.

Another problem with this mod:

The dropdown is after editing the navbar template shown but i can?t upload images; the permission is given in the setting but the upload mask is not shown.

It is just refreshing the window and says:

Hosted images for : testuser
No image hosted

Any idea?

Hi,

I don't know what went wrong, but all of a sudden the VB image host stopped working in a testing-forum of mine (vb3.6.9). It worked quite normal and fine, the next day I cannot upload pictures anymore, I either get the message "the uploaded file was not an image", or the error messages as in the screenshot I attached.

In the meantime I re-uploaded all files and re-installed the product, but still the same.

Do you have any ideas what I could do? I don't want to miss this great add-on!!

Ok, I have a question on how to get this to work with a virtual directory. My forums are the main server, but I want to store the images on another server. So, I created a virtual directory called imagehosting to that drive so that it looks like it is on the root of my forums. Is there any reason this will not work?

When I upload the image, it is not giving me an error, but it is not uploading the image to the imagehosting directory. Need help with this one!

I just installed this on our site - or at least I think I have. At the point at which I need to edit my Templates --> Navbar, I seem to have two in my database. Editing one results in no errors - but nothing on the Navbar either.

Editing the other template yields this - "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/www/xxx/forum/newreply.php(861) : eval()'d code on line 201

And then my whole navbar goes awry and I have to remove those edits.

So, does anyone have any ideas on fixing this? Have you had the same thing happen? I've changed my usergroups and for all intents and purposes, turned it on in Admin. Not sure what else to do to make it show and function.
