Hi guys, sorry I haven't been around....

I just upgraded my forum to vB 3.6.0 Saturday, and iTrader works fine for me. If you are experiencing any issues, you will need to post what the specific problems are. Saying "It's not working" doesn't help me track down anything.

I will be releasing a long overdue update that addresses some minor bugs, and also some new rating features. Also some logic fixes for easier navigation & rating.

If there are any true bugs for vb 3.6.0 you guys need to let me know asap. Like I said, I have it running just fine on my forum.

Unfortunately, "it's not working" is about the only explanation I can give, as it doesn't even show up when I enable it properly. When I installed it on 3.5.4, it showed up in members' profiles as expected. It doesn't show up at all in 3.6. This is on two separate forums--one is a private "test" forum that I had at 3.5.4 and it worked great (we left each other some really colorful feedback!), and the other was our main forum: a bone-stock 3.6.0. There were no errors during installation.

I know it won't show up in the postbit until I add the code (which I did in my 3.5.4 testing), but nothing is showing up in the user profile. All files are uploaded, and the install procedure has been done, as everything shows up where it should in the control panel. I've run the "itrader_in_profile" mod, and the option in the admin control panel Show itrader stats in profile? is set to "yes". The plugins are also all enabled. And in the usergroups, I have all three iTrader options set to "yes" just to see if I can get it working.

Basically, everything is there, but the stats are just not showing up in a user's profile, despite everything being setup and enabled properly.

iTrader doesn't show up on the member's profile page until you add some code to the templates (I thought I added info about that in the readme).

I'll give it a whirl on a clean 3.6.0 install again, see if I can't break it somehow.

Jason, I figured it out. In your package for iTrader, you have the .xml file product-itrader_in_profile.xml, but there is no "readme" file that refers to it. Your main "Readme First.html" file tells about adding an iTrader link elsewhere, but didn't show the edits for this add-on. That's where I got confused. ;)

If I go to the "addon" linked at the top of the thread, written by DopeGFX, it's a download of the same xml file, but with the readme file in it. Of course, that had the instructions to modify the member.php file and the MEMBERINFO template...and it's working fine now.

I have this set to only show the trader rating in the postbit in certain forums, but after adding a new forum that I'd like to show the rating in, I can't recall how I did it.

I have an odd problem:

I recently moved my forums to a new server. Everything is working fine, except that ITrader will not allow anyone access, it always says "The iTrader system is currently closed.". I've double-checked that it is checked "enabled" in the admin CP, and I've tried turning it off, and back on again. Nobody, including admins, can get around this "itrader closed" message. All user groups have permissions set to allow Itrader access.

How can I fix this?

Another question: If I "uninstall" Itrader via the AdminCP (for the purposes of trying to reinstall), will I lose all my itrader data (feedback, scores, etc)?

I have vbulletin 3.6.1. I'm having trouble getting the iTrader link to show up underneath the username:

Do I still edit the memberlist_resultsbit template? I can get it to show up in the postbit, but not the above. I have read the directions and this thread and can not find my answer. If I am editing the correct template - why is it not being saved after I click on "save and reload?" It does save, but you can not see the changes when looking at the page.

If you are not seeing this, then you may have to reinstall iTrader. By upgrade, do you mean that you upgraded vB to 3.6.0 or 3.6.1, or are you upgrading from an earlier version of iTrader? This might help someone troubleshoot your issues.

I don't think there should be any changes necessary, but you never know. From my own experience, the current itrader release will run on at least 3.6.0 (probably 3.6.1 too), a lot of the code & functions were kept independent of vB stuff intentionally, as to avoid dependencys on vB versions.

Jason, use your product on my forum and think it's spectacular. Would like to make a suggestion, I apologize if it has been suggested previously. Would it be possible to include a way for the member receiving a negative to leave a response to the negative token? Would like to see something for members to post visible reponses to negatives displayed directly underneath the token. We're having our board upgraded to 3.6.2, by the folks over at vbulletin.com . I understand that all of our hacks will be lost.

Will the iTrader information be lost as well? I would like it to remain if possible, I love this mod. What can I do prior to the upgrade to make sure I can keep the existing feedbacks?

I have lost my trader ratings data, but that was my fault fiddling :hurt:

But telc is right, you don't loose any data during an upgrade. I've sorted myself out and got it back and also tweaked it slightly.

BTW 2.01 seems to work fine on vbulletin 3.6.2

Awsome hack!

There is one major flaw, but I am sure it is easy to fix.

When you are leaving feedback, you post an optional link to a deal. There are two holes.

1. You can leave feedback for the same link, over and over.
2. The link should be a manditory option in the ACP

If you don't have these, the feedback system is almost useless. I could sit there all day and leave 200 feedback on a friend or just sign up as another user and leave my other user ID great feedback.

Thisis an OUTSTANDING hack, I would just like to see it perfected.

the plug in manager is in your adminCP at the bottom. click add new plugin and choose the file in the zip with the .xml extention and your good to keep going.

In options, there is an option to view forum as traditional 2-column vertical design.

Where x,y and z are the usergroup ids you wish to show the trader rating for.

Understand I haven't tested this, I just figured it out for you. And I don't consider myself a coder any more, so it may not work. But it's worth a try.

Scott - It shouldn't be too difficult... Mostly just where it does the checks for transaction type, add a couple phrases & modify the templates.

I couldn't get it to work. It gave me an error message. I'll have to redo everything and get you that error message. I couldn't find anything for usergroup premissions for the Itrader settings. I believe that was the message saying I don't have permission, but again I couldn't find it under the control panel. After I refresed Admin Control Panel it only showed Itrader tools, but scores under that.

But nothing is showing up on the forums. I just kind of randomly placed them somewhere, i think below the reputation ratings, I'm still new to this, so I don't really know. But anyways, I have it turned on, and to where the users can use it. I am guessing I just put the code in wrong or something. Help would be awesome.

OK I added it in postbit_legacy, it now shows on the user when they post in the forum. But it just shows their stats. It won't let you add to it or anything.

You have two itrader variables that you can use itrader_total and itrader_pcnt
you could use something like $post[itrader_pcnt]

Boy o Boy responses like this is why heat starts on most forum boards. The reason why I want a more detailed writeup is because I think the system my be running a bit buggy on my site where things are hit or miss at times, for example some people can leave feedback using the same thread link and others cant and trying to figure out some of the fine details.

And what can I do if after uploading files and instaled the product plugin, on usergroup permissions there's no iTrade settings? I have the iTrade usergroup permissions if I install iTrader on my laptop-localhost, runing vBulletin 3.6.4, but not on the web server...

EDIT: found it. Have to CHMOD the files on the server to 0555. The iTrader properties appears now on the middle of the usergrup option, not on the end of the page.

I *have* a newer version on my development box (I can't tell you how much it is completed), which is currently sitting without a hard drive. Not to fear though, I have the whole image sitting on another machine. It's just a matter of me swapping a few hard drives around so I can finally get one back in that box, doing a restore, etc, etc...

I'll try to get the machine back up and running today and get to work on releasing a new version soon. There's a few changes I really have been wanting to make (they have even been naging me), and a few additional features to make it easier on the end user & administration.

To answer some of the most common questions I get:

Okay - I just got through reading every single page of this and I'm still ridiculously confused (doesn't take much). I am very impressed w/ myself that I've gotten as far as I have but here's where I'm stumped. Seeing as how I don't know the difference between postbit and postbit legacy - I've just been adding any code to the postbit templates.

That being said, several pages back someone explained how to add code to the postbit legacy template - which I don't think will help me?

I've managed to add the code so the feedback is showing under their location, etc. That much I figured out.

I cannot for the life of me figure out where this code (below) goes in the navbar template!! Can someone please tell me?!?!? I've tried a million things and the best I'm coming up with is under Quick Links but as the very first one in an extremely small font - so it's not in the correct place. I'm hoping to have it as another menu item on it's own rather than part of a drop down (like it would be w/ Quick Links).

thanks, because of you we are now running the iTrader 2.01.

So far, it's running, but we have the problem that the number of feedback isn't shown below the avatars.

To test this, we have given two feedbacks (see below) und I ran the update of the merchandising points under Acp.

It is possible that the plugin doesn't like the Vb version 3.6.4?

I have installed iTrader and I also have SRclassifieds installed as they both use the rating system, I deleted the SRclassifieds stuff in the templates that iTrader used so now it says iTrader in the postbit and such, but how do i intergrate them together so when some one gives rating in SRclassifieds it coes up a iTrader rating?

I'm having a problem when submitting URL's.
I use Zoints SEO and it re-writes the URL's to include keywords.
When I copy and paste the thread URL into the feedback box it just says invalid URL.

I'm guessing this is because of the Zoints SEO.
Is there any work around for this?

Corsacant - You will probably have to modify the fuction some that does the URL checking to re-parse the URL in the new format.

Jellybaby - That is what the ebay style choice is for. By default multiple ratings from the same user does not alter your feedback score. The score by default is determined by unique users.

As for the new version, it's coming along slowly. I got my dev box up and running, but then my video card in my notebook died, so I had to hastily buy another one off ebay and get that swapped out. I'm trying to get a more ebayish feel with the drop-down boxes for feedback and other options (instead of just those images which I think are confusing to most people). Once I get it to a stable state (it's still pretty rough), I'll probably run it on my own forum for a few days to make sure nobody has any issues or something doesn't make sense with the changes.

I'll be sure to post an update this coming Monday, hopefully by then I can give you an ETA with the new version.

Was a somewhat unproductive weekend, I broke a window by accident and spent all Saturday afternoon futzing with that (and managed to cut my hands up too pretty good, depsite wearing gloves). Sunday I wasn't feeling too well and managed to doze off for the whole afternoon too.

An iTrader Admin would have to change it for you, they do not have time limits and can edit any rating.

I did everything.... but my concern is I did not do it right.

I had someone install the VB for me.. and I used their tutorial to aide me in installing the itrader.

Hi, i wonder if its possible to have the postid that the user is rating as a parameter passed to the feedback form.

This way i can just put a link in the post that is being rated on feedback and when they click it the deal thread url will be filled in already, linking back to that post trade. Is this possible ?

I am Admin for the entire site, and I've just looked at the iTrader settings in the admin cp, I don't see anyhwere to set myself as "iTrader admin".

iTrader permissions are in the usergroup options. If it's not there then you didn't upload the files properly.

dizzy - I'm sure you could with minior modification to the code, I'll see about adding it in with the next release, that way you can do a direct rating a lot easier.

I've kind of put coding on hold at the moment, I've been having to fix some other major site issues (broken things). But I will get back to work on is as soon as possible.

If you want to show iTrader in just some forums, use this code instead:

There is no security flaw in this and there has never been one.

There was a issue with a add-on to this modification by a different Coder. The hack with the security flaw is "iTrader Extension [Mainpage, Search, AND MORE]" by giologist.

The uninstaller for this mod will not uninstall it. It states there are missing tables in the usergroup database (when comparing it to the freshly installed version it doesn't install the tables the uninstaller states are missing).

Doing a manual uninstall of it and removing any left over fields and also removing all of the files uploaded still leaves links in the admin panel to this mod's tools. How does one go about properly getting this uninstalled?

Is there a way to edit this? ?ensure that the hostname matches up with this forum and at least one of the two people in the deal was the person who created the thread? so that only the forum ID would be needed?

-Is there a way to remove the neutral option?

-Is there a way to display a list somewhere on the forum of all the members who received points classified by rating?

Also, I am so confused of how to do this. This is what I have done in order:

-> Uploaded all files to respective folders through my FTP Client
-> Went into ACP and then went into plugin manager: uploaded product.xml

*problem*: Says it is not a plugin but a product, use product manager -> I used product manager and got the product.xml file going.

However, what in the world is: Paste your PHP that you want to be executed. The title, description of the product. I thought that would fill out by itself? Also, because I had no clue what I was doing, I found my itrader.php file and then copied and pasted the contents into the "PHP that you want executed" box.

-> Step told me to go and change usergroup settings and either: turn off access for all users then iTrader option would appear.. Or he meant: there is an off button that you should turn on... (undescriptive readmes ftl)

-> I found nothing on iTrader, even with find tool nothing on it in my ACP as of that step, or even in my usergroup permissions areas.

What is going on! What am I doing wrong. Please help, I've been going nuts for a few days now and I have been posting on dozens of forums with NO response.

Im getting crazy here... I clicked on Install but Havent been able to make it work

I uploaded all the files, modified the usergroups, turning the itrader to on, now the templates. What and where do I do all that?

It is a product not a plugin.

Click "Manage Products"
Then at the "Installed Products" page click "[Add/Import Product]"

Then you can browse to the product xml file and import it.

Is there anyway for an admin or someone with edit access to go and manually enter in a feedback number for a user? I just implemented iTrader and we used to use a 'feedback' forum, and our members would like to have their feedback scores transfered to iTrader.

All I see admins currently having access to is editing and deleting feedbacks. I tried to search for it in this section but all the terms I searched came up with 0 results.
