forum open/active timed toggle
Hate to repeat my question but haven't gotten a response and wanted to re-word my original thread..hopefully someone will understand what i'm looking for..
I'm hoping someone will be able to help me out here, still willing to pay a little bit (pm me on that) if this can get done... I have a particular forum on my boards that I would like to have toggled open/closed & active/unactive at particular set times, and from seeing other scheduled tasks, I think it could be done using one (or two, depending on how they are coded I guess). If you see this, and are interested/know how to do this, PM me please!

It could be done with a few simple queries, i think i already saw some other gave them in reply to one of your threads.
The problem might be the reopening, since i am not sure if Scheduled Tasks will be executed once the forum is closed. You might need to schedule these in the operating system. Still didn't have time to look at it for you, and i just heard today that i will be out of the country until next weekend. So best is to try to find someone else who have time to look at this for you.

Ah..well, I don't mean the entire forum, just a single forum on the board
And I know people keep misunderstanding that...Basically, there will be one forum on the board that I want to basically disappear at 6am..won't be viewable from forumhome, nor will it be accessible (non-active), and then at midnight it will become viewable again, and active as well.

Well that could be done by modifying the permissions for that forum. This is a bit more difficult however then just switching the board on or off.

Ah..well, that's what I'm looking to get done, goes back about 5-6 years ago to the original site that I basically have kept alive, the admins at gameshark had done a cron job on the server to basically toggle a file swap or something on an old old UBB, pre version 5 I want to say...

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, however, I'm once again looking for anyone that has a way to do this, or would be willing to come up with a way...again, to make a single forum on my board appear and become postable at 12am and disappear/become locked at 6am (to be specific with the times).
