Integration with SQL Server
We currently use a Microsoft Content Managment server to host our web portal. For the login the account details are stored in an SQL Server database.
We would like to partly integrate vBulletin with this portal in so much that the user registers on the Portal and they are registered on vBulletin. i.e. a single point of user account details. Is it possible and is there a hack or modification that will allow us to do this??? i.e. get vBulletin to query the SQL Server Database during logon. Any help appreciated |

This is not possible with out of the box vBulletin.
It might be possible to create a custom solution for you, but you will have to put a Service Request for that. Teh Service Request forum is open for all licensed members. |

I am not yet a liciensed user as I have not purchased vBulletin.
This issue is more of a pre-requisite to purchasing the software and therefore we need to find out if this solution can definately be implemented before purchase. Is there anyway of finding this out pre-purchase?? |

that is impossible without modification of the original code someone might be able to help you but you can't post in the "service requests" forum unless you are licenced (unlinced users simply can't see that forum)

I also would consider purchasing vbulletin if it supported MSSQL. IPB supports MSSL but their support and service is so bad I don't want to do business with them. With VBUlletin not supporting MSSQL I don't have any other options.
I'd like to see Vbulletin add support for MSSQL. Large businesses that are serious about I.T. do not run MySQL. They'll be running Oracle or MSSQL. I have probably $1,000 - $2,000 in custom development I would need done after Vbulletin is installed. I'd just as soon give the work to the VBulletin developers. But they won't get that business because Vbulletin doesn't support MSSQL and MSSQL is a requirement of mine. I have other software which uses MSSQL and I have standardized on MSSQL and will not run MySQL on my servers. What are the chances you'll add MSSQL Support soon? |
