I am seeing very high server loads during user searches. Is there a way to limit the search or to only allow searching to special usergroups??

Or if anyone has insight on what else could be causing high server loads.

Not easy to answer without getting into the details of your setup. But you could start by checking the MySQL slow query log.

PS Can Search Forum is a Usergroup permission.
