How can i check if there are ANY GPC values present?

I want to know if there are any $_GET[''] values present in the script. i tried something like the following but it didn't work:

if (!empty($vbulletin->input->clean_array_gpc('r', array()))) {
...
} 

Can someone help me with this one?
