Different Backgrounds for Each User's Postbit
Like the idea of the AIM Expressions and MSN backgrounds, allow a user to set his or her own postbit background from a list of pre-selected backgrounds or colors. This would allow users to be more creative and show more of themselves. Mabe lower the opacity to about 25% or something to adjust for the font color.
I think this is a really good idea and someone should look into doing this. =D |

That would be damn annoying to view.
Anyway, it's easy to implement - Code an ACP interface to manage backgrounds - Field in User Table to hold selected bakchround CSS/image URL - Plugin for UserCP to select - Apply this in postbit template |

hmm this would only work if they set their own font too, otherwise depending on how many styles a board has, a background could render the font unreadable.
Biggest downside I can think of is the background "paneling" for long posts. Load times on large threads. The idea is kick ass, I just don't know if the application would be feasible. |

I am currently looking for something similar to this. I would like to set the size of the postbit to specific dimensions and then allow certain users, whether it be by usergroup or simple yes or no permission (for example, bought the ability in the vbplaza), to upload an image the same dimension to be used as the postbit background. I know I've seen this implemented somewhere, I've just gotta think about it for a bit and try to remember where...
If something like this exists, I'd love a finger point in the right direction! (hey! not that finger!) |
