Promote your board by becoming part of a vB Ring. Adds a button to the bottom of your site that, if clicked, opens a new window with a random link to any other forum in the vB Ring.

Your site will be randomly linked to from all the other forums in the list.

To be added to the list, you need to :
a) Add your boards name below (to prove it is legal)
b) Install this hack, so you are participating in the ring

Optionally email me to get your site on the list, after posting it here. Just in case I miss it on this thread.

1 template mod :

Admin CP > Style Manager > Edit Templates > FOOTER

Yeah, it'll need people to add to it from the start, to build it up, but I reckon it could be a great tool. If your board has a link from just one other board on its homepage then the traffic should shoot up, so with a lot of boards it should do great business.

this is not a hack but the advertising of an external resource, please specify this in your release.

because maybe some other guys would think that your hack actually create/install a webring system on their forum...

I think this is a great idea! I agree, however, that you should indicate that this is a "community cooperative" hack and not an independent webring.
