is there already a hack on the go that makes sure unregistered members can not see the boards??

eg - so you have to register to see whats been posted?

You can do this with the admincp usergroup permissions. Set the group to not-logged in/guests to not seeing any forums.

That can be done with default vB3.5 i think. For 3.0 you will need a hack (think it exists, try searching).
