Default Searching text not in a tread or post:

Hello, my web site has a lot text artical that I have created (Mainly movie synops). I have created the pages using the index.php (modified). The question I have is, is there a way to make text searchable. Keep in mind that I would only say want to make the title of say an actors name searchable in order to keep server load down....

I am still doing some mod work but here is the link to my spalsh page

http://www.cinematalk.us

Thanks,
rtmiles

Are you storing those articles in the database?

How would I go about adding a peace of text or word to the vb data base.

Was was thinking of doing somthing along the lines of this:

blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,
[function add to database] Key word or text [/function add to database]
blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah

This way I would have complete control over the search words or text and it would not mater if it was in a post aslong a the function was in the php code.

Im not that great at php but from editing code for hacks I am guessing their is a simple function for adding a word to a database.....

Thanks,
rtmiles

Sorry for all the questions but I think I my be over thinking the issue...

For my purposes I am only entering titles so doing it manual would work if I knew how.

I think I could just make a php file called say submitsearch.php and do the following..(Im not a coder so this is just the methodology per say, I will have to look up how to actualy code it)....

{

input type = text (search term or terms)

input type = text (location in url format , I think SQL uses forum ids but this would need to be an actual link??)

input type = text (Output text (What shows up in search result))

buttion = submit

onsubmit query (php fuction to add the word)

}

Im guessing I could use the search table already set up in SQL if I knew what the different comands did i.e. : (searchid, forumchoice, orderedids, etc...)

Thanks for your help in advance....
