Automatic Avatar Resizing
When users upload a picture, it'd be automatically resized to the correct (or near correct) dimensions of the required avatar size of your forum.
kinda similar to the way MSN does it. what do you all think? gLh |

There are such Hacks for 3.0, should not be hard to port them to 3.5 Plugins
|

You could also take a look at how it is done via the Admin CP user.php file
