I've found this a wee bit unintuitive so thought I'd ask the cleverer folk here about it.
When including new custom options with a product, they don't get exported unless they are set yes to "vBulletin Default (Will be replaced by upgrade scripts)". In the past when I've created my new options I've always set that to "no", because my custom options are not default vbulletin and my understanding was that any non-default options would be ignored and left as is by upgrades. But when migrating products from my test site to live site I originally lost those options as they weren't in the product xml. So can someone clarify what the difference is between setting "vBulletin Default" to yes or to no for me? ![]() Part of me is half thinking this may be a bug because I'm not certain why I would have an option not exported with it's associated product :S |

vBulletin Default = Yes and Product = vbulletin => Will be replaced by vBulletin Updates
vBulletin Default = No and Product= vbulletin => Will stay, but not be included in Product XMLs (obvious) vBulletin Default = Yes and Product != vBulletin => Will stay, will be included in Product XMLs vBulletin Default = No and Product != vBulletin => Useless |

cool, I think I've got it from that and it was just my interpretation of the label that got me a bit confused I think or something (too early on a Sunday morning here
![]() As long as I keep everything checked as vBulletin default with a non-vb product I will be fine and not interfere with upgrades but still export. Seems obviously simple now...! cheers Kirby ![]() |

Yeah, the Label is a bit misleading - should be "Default Setting, will be replaced by Updates" - as this is effectivelty what does happen:
Settings with product=vbulletin get replacced by vbulletin updates, settings with product != vbulletin get replaced when you import a new product xml. |

That setting is already there since 3.0, way before the product system and before other 'products' then vB existed. Guess the Phrase could use an update.
