I know this was possible in the older versions of vbulletin with a simple update to the post table. However, with 3.5.0, altering the author of a post seems to have become a bit more complicated. When I change the username/userid fields for a post record in database, the post becomes messed up when viewed in the thread. To be more specific, the name is shown in very small text, and none of the user information is loaded.
I am guessing this is because of some new kind of post-hash validation check that occurs upon display. Anyone experimented with this yet? I'd really apprecate it if someone could fill me in on what all I need to update in order to change the author of a post in 3.5.0. Thanks I'm sorry, what I said was wrong. You CAN edit a post author by simply updating the post table. My issue was being caused by an improper import of users. Please ignore, thankyou. |
