Comic Books To Movies
What is with Hollywood giving scripts to these Directors & Producers that know nothing in how the movie should flow.
The Hulk should have been a model for what not to do but did they learn from this bomb, of coarse not cause they put out The Punisher, Fantasic Four & DareDevil. If they do not make them is the style that Spider-Man then why make them at all. Other comic movies coming out are

You thought Fantastic Four was a bad movie? I read almost all the comics and I rather enjoyed the movie.

You need to get your facts a bit more accurate - Daredevil was released before The Hulk

Well i am devided here.
I agree that hulk wasn't good, but it was at least way better than elektra. Fantastic Four was enjoyable (especially Stan Lee's speaking cameo ^^) Sin City is a comic book as well, and the movie they made of is one of the best movies i have ever seen. So you cannot speak in general here, ok it seems to be in mode to make comic movies now, but each of them is still different, so there are good ones and bad ones |

Well I though Elektra was pretty good, but Hulk was crap.
Fantastic Four was pretty good. Sin City was fantastic, best movie this year. X-men movies are pretty good too. Daredevil was crap. Really crap. So comic movies seem to be getting better as of late. |

its called a trend and thats all hollywood. hollywood has mostly run out of unique ideas so they must turn to an already present source of stories. also with comics come dedicated fan bases and name recognition. so basically half the things movie studios have to do are already done thanks to comics. I feel most of the time movie studios do not give respect or deep thought into the comics and try to hire/cast the right people to do it. as you can see they learned their lesson not to just throw ++++ together or you get something called dare devil. hopefully eventually hollywood will come out of the depression of creativity and go back to making originals and not remakes:P

It is actually less about the movie itself and more about the marketing and licensing. The Incredible Hulk movie is responsible for millions of sales revenue directly to Marvel's pocketbook. As much as Spiderman generated. It was a successful venture with the toys, video games, broadcast rights, DVDs, Pay-Per-View. In this day and age, a movie's success is not reliant on how much it makes in the box office alone. There are many different licensing factors to take into consideration. Read the following article: http://www.comicbookmovie.com/news/articles/360.asp According to it, one of the duds you listed ("Daredevil") is categorized as a Blockbuster hit in Hollywood because it made more than $100 million in the theaters. Pretty nice chunk of change. Since movies account for more income to Marvel Comics than their comic books do but less than toy sales, you can be sure they will continue to sell the license rights and reap in the cash as long as Hollywood wants to bet on their characters. DC also knows a good thing when they see it. |
