Allow guests to non-vb page
I've manually added some pages myself.
I've used global.php to be able to all vb variables/functions. But, that has a side effect, I don't want guests to view my board, but they are allowed to see my custom pages. How do I get around that? |

Difficult ...
You must define another VB_AREA for your other Pages, then modify global.php to ignore canview Permission if in this Area. |

You mean with another VB_AREA another option like "Can view forum"?
Hmmz, I can find on line 553 of global.php // check permission to view forum Below that is the code for the global permissions. If I would change that, I would also change the whole forum permissions. Is it possible to add a small part of code that explicitely says wich php page is allowed? [EDIT] Sorry, I was thinking way too difficult. I simply made a copy of global.php, called it guestperms.php. Then I erased the "CANVIEW" code out of it and saved it again. Then, Included guestperms.php to all pages you want to be able to use. Hope some people will have benefit from this. |
