Bulk / Batch insert of new threads / posts
Hi,
Has anyone automatically created threads from an external interface? We want to automatically post a new thread on a given event in a Unix environment such as an abnormally terminating script. Is there a way of calling the newthread.php with all the correct parameters passed through from another OS? Thanks |

I presume the lack of response means that there isn't a known way of doing this. :disappointed:
Has anyone else ever wanted to do create threads / posts automatically, or is it just me? Basically we run overnight batch jobs on a Unix system, and I want to automatically initiate a thread when a batch job aborts that then gets followed up by our support staff. Anyone have any interest in this at all? Thanks |

That nobody responded can have many reasons, a few of them could be:
- nobody else is interested (people usually only do free work, if they can use it themself also, or if they see a something that might be used by a lot of people, or if they think it is a challenge) - Your request is more complicated then it looks, especially from a security point of view. - Most good coders are still busy porting their work to vB3.5 or writing new vb3.5 hacks |

Hmmm.. Seems that this would be similar to an RSS feed. At least work on a similar premise.
