When a person is logged into my forums, I want a message on my main site (that is at the moment not connected anyway to my forums but is in PHP) to say "Welcome [username]" or something, and if they're not logged in, just have it say "Welcome Guest. Please login or register" or something similar..

Can anyone help me out?
