I am planning on installing a php accelerator on my server and was wondering which was the best one / most compatible with VB. I have some other php programs too, mainly from the Photopost ppl. Photopost, user reviews, and classifieds.
Any setings I should be aware of that need to be set? I am just going to have my host install it. Thanks for any comments you can provide on the subject. Note: I run 3.0.7 on a dual 2.8 xeon box with Linux. |

mmcache is pretty old now. The replacement for it is eaccelerator. I use it and it works fine.

mmcache needs to be turned off for 3.5, otherwise you'll run into all sorts of issues trying to install it.
As for eAccelerator, there's an issue with the datastore. Until things get worked out, I'm not using any type of accelerator program. |

What about php accelerator? I thought I heard in some thread here or at vb.com that it was good. Has anybody heard anything bad about it? I was wondering if somebody knew out of all of the php speed increasers which one would be the best?

If you have any intentions of upgrading to 3.5 when it goes Gold, I'd personally hold off on any accelerator program until things settle down and the various bugs get worked out.

I have 10 sites running 3.5 RC2 and eaccelerator doesn't seem to cause any problems.
