link colors not overriding?

Sorry I can't provide a URL to the actual page... it's a work in progress that I want to keep private. But here is the relevant code from the page source.

thead is applied to a table cell within another cell that uses alt2. LINKED TEXT is showing the link color from alt2 instead of thead (from the parent page element instead of the nearer child).

Should not thead's link colors override alt2 in this code? I can't figure out why this isn't working... I want LINKED TEXT to use the link colors from thead.

what color do you see as default? I have yellow. It's gray on hover.
what browser are you using? I'm using FireFox 1.0.6, IE6 XP

I see dark blue for LINKED TEXT.

FF, Safari, IE. Mac / PC.

I see yellow on LINKED TEXT which is what it's suppose to be.
it may be something else -- take a closer look at your css (entire css)

IE 6, 5.5, 5.1, FF, OPERA

if you want to remove the blue color from link .... replace

with

<a href="#" title=""><strong>Jakeman</strong></a>

what color do you want it to be?

CSS - Cascading Style Sheet

Some selectors will take precedence over others:
Examples:

1. if you have .alt2 and .thead - the one placed last on stylesheet will take precedence
2. if you use a .alt2 and td.thead - td.thead will take precedence regardless of placement in stylesheet
3. etc, etc

NOTE: inline style will take precedence over external style

So I need to create a new definition for "td.thead" that is a duplicate of "thead"? I have to specifically identify which tags can override the higher link colors?
